i did the part opening reshade overlay ingame(ofc download shader.zip and re run reshade to locate ini file from github file), and tried to open ini file in "\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor2\Binaries\Win64" as your example screnshot you upload, but still not shows xhair. can you please help me....i googled, and asked chat GPT like 10 times to solve it via pasting this steam page url and github url but even GPT couldnt solve it TwT

i installed this and i can no longer play endless mode and objective mode :/
just survival, idk what happened there, didn´t even online, it was an offline single player and when i uninstalled the program i no longer had acces to those game modes

Works on my end with the latest version of ReShade. The installer no longer offers the option to input a URL, but otherwise it works fine if installed manually. What issues are you having?

Well the guy is technically right.
Any mod added to any game is technically cheating.

Kf2 has a crosshair but a very crappy one and no way to readjust it.
I played gundam evolution and they have alot of options to modify your crosshair, so reshade is pretty redundant there.

I will use this crosshair just to spite the guy below me

This is definitely normal, considering it is in every FPS ever.
Their choice not to include a crosshair was stylistic, trying to minimize UI clutter.
Same reason your screen turns red, instead of an HP bar going down.

You'd be laughed out of any room trying to argue that a crosshair in a standard FPS is cheating.
Also, KF2 is mad old.. be happy anyone is playing at all.

I prefer the tripod-mounted laser method

nvm I just had to verify game files. Seems to work fine now.

Did the manual install from Github and it worked fine on solo but crashes whenever I try to join a server. I renamed the dll file but it still crashes.

Chenar4321: open ReShade.ini (located alongside your game EXE) and change the line that starts with KeyOverlay= to KeyOverlay=113,0,1

This should change the overlay key to Shift+F2, then you should be able to change the overlay key to the key of your choice through the settings.

can I change the button for the reshade ? it says click ''Home'' but my keyboard doesn't have one, how can I change the button layout ?

Hi, I just successfully installed the crosshire after trying for a few minutes, I would like to help if someone else has the same problem.
It turns out that when installing (and following all the steps correctly, from the link guide)
The "xhair" was still unable to start the game.
Well, the solution is quite simple when installing the reshade and placing the link https://github.com/notpeelz/reshade-xhair/archive/master.zip
You have to give it to add and not simply close as the guide itself says, once we give it to add, you have to check that it is selected when downloading, be unchecked (in my case) the xhair we mark it and with that we should be able to add the crosshire by opening the reshade within the game.

Question about the installer- it was trying to scan for my games- but i pressed browse manually. Will reshade run on any games it did find automatically? Don't want to get banned on those.

Other ReShade effects are optional.

If you can't see xhair.fx, it's probably because the effects path is incorrect or Steam is failing to download the workshop item.

Hey peelz, I tried everything the xhair shade is not appearing, cant know what I'm doing wrong, I already checked the effect path and are fine too, can try to screenshot for better understanding.

Yeah it was crashing when trying to start a mission, I uninstalled it a reinstalled it and it seemed to work anyway so its fine. Also I don't think it let me tick Direct 10/11/12 it only worked with the other option.

Did your game crash on startup? If not, then it's probably not a ReShade problem. Killing Floor 2 is known to be quite crash-happy.

The game folder is your Killing Floor 2 folder. Did you check the "Direct3D 10/11/12" option in the ReShade installer? If you still don't see a file named "dxgi.dll", upload a screenshot of your Killing Floor 2 folder on imgur.com and post it here.

Also make sure that you're using the correct Killing Floor 2 folder, in case you previously installed it on an old hard drive or something...

Its also crashing and i'm not sure what you mean by the "game" folder I have not been able to find a folder named "game" anywhere, i've also looked for dxgi.dll in the killing floor 2 folder in steam apps and it saids it doesn't exist.
