Monsters definitely fit well with the game. Only downside is that they sometimes do some wacky stuff that ignore the basic rules. I think its due to them having what the author describes as free auto actions. Had a drowned sharpshooter straight up ignore stun (Not resist, It got stunned then used its action). Also had a swine centurion ignore surprise and go first before my party. Monsters are balanced but should definitely expect them to be cheating.

So, I ran into a bug where the summoning page won't be saved as a provision, which makes it impossible to fight the observer. Are there any like known compatibility issues that could be the cause?

Unsure if this mod causes it or not, but mod-added journal pages are completely blank for me. Vanilla journals are completely fine, its just the modded ones. Honestly, I think this mod isnt the cause, but this seems like one of the best places to ask about the issue.

I used this for a while, failing miserably. I think what finally made me remove it were these particular set of enemies.. The Lovecraftian ones that are just floating. One puts a 20% dmg buff on their entire party, the other 2 are doing party wide AOE that do damage and stress damage simultaneously. Yeah... Too broken for my taste, especially when I have no upgrades and am using level 0 heroes lol.
I wouldn't use this unless I felt super OP and broken and mastered the game.

especially to put it in the starting area of the game, ive had my run ruined by this one enemy because i get put against a team of 2 of them with high prot high dmg enemies that they support and they end up 2 shotting characters that are higher level than the dungeon itself. seriously dumb addition, and dont get me wrong i love the rest of the mod but this specific enemy is fucked. i seriously dont understand the thought process behind that buff

very nice mod but sadly impossible to play on bloodmoon since the difficulty is beyond what you can handle. i got from 0 stress to 140 in 1 turn and a heart attack in the second one one two heroes. balance is needed on higher difficulties but i assume this is abandoned now.

For those of you getting crashes using the page to summon the Dreamcatcher, my issue after testing was the Here Be Monsters Compatibility patch. On its own, KCC summoning with the page worked.

Shriekling Nest is a terrible fight, if you don’t bring Guard Bypassing then you just lose. The nest constantly summons more crows and refreshes its own guard constantly while being immune to any status you could imagine. Absolutely terrible design for a fight.

Yeah, if you read the Shriekling mission's description you can get a fair warning that it will involve some adventuring. Is it intentional that scouting is impossible in that quest or am I just unlucky? It would be nice if a party setup that excels at scouting would have an easier time finding a "hidden" nest, but I understand a lot of scripted missions have disabled or limited scouting.

I actually really like this mod. My first shriekling nest fight was a hell of an attrition war though, if you don't luckily bring the right composition then it's almost impossible. The only reason I survived was because of dirk stab bypassing guard, but killing the nest with just my jester's dps was definitely a journey.

It's actually telegraphed in a few ways. It's meant to catch you off-guard, but it has a unique icon, unique quest description, and a unique quest length that *isn't* short. The no retreat thing is a technical limitation of the game though. Besides the actual nest fight is fairly easy.

Should include a warning for the shriekling's nest that it requires taking food and torches. Lost an entire party because it has a unique rule set. (no retreat, but also unlike shrieker's nest is an actual dungeon). Pretty frustrating, honestly, to have a forced party loss entirely because of an unknown ruleset.

Don't let them discourage you tbh. Most of the problems in the mod are really niche or dependant on hardware(which base dd already struggles with).

Also balance is subjective and steam comments always argue about it, I've made plenty of balancing tweaks over time anyway.

Cool mod but the diseases are just overtuned as hell. Ever since I started using this mod I can be almost guaranteed that I will come out with at LEAST 1 disease, often more.
