[WOTC] Iridar's Vest and Plating Overhaul

I figured out the issue for why i can't see the slots. It's because of Operation Parallel mod. Because of it, it is heavily overriding the vest slot only for the doomslayer and not everyone else.

For some reason My soldiers don't have any vest slot on them. I'm unsure if there's a mod causing them to be unavailable to be slotted or am I missing something? Do i need the wotc vest slot mod for the dependency for the mod to work or am I just bugged with some mod issue?

It's only a minor incompatibility as noted... you just don't get much for Augmenting your Torso as you already have the vest-slot unlocked

I tried buying them from Engineering, but they just vanished upon purchase. Weird. I wonder if some framework elements from this mod somehow ended up in Armor Overhaul.
I would just go ahead and install this mod were it not for the incompatibility with Augmentations.

Hmm... I don't have either of those. I've gone over my whole list and can't seem to track it down.

I have Iridar's Armor Overhaul, but it doesn't say those platings are part of it.

Those platings can also be found (and are from) the LW2 Platings mod. ((They're also a part of LWotC))

I ask because I never installed it on my current run, yet chitin plating and alloy plating showed up after doing some autopsies.

hey, when you say that this overrides the chest augment vest thing, does that mean that chest augmentations don't do anything, or just renders that feature redundant?

I noticed that, when running with 'Covert Infiltration', vests cost 50 supply. Predator armor only something like 5 supply. I'm also running the bridge mod. Is there a way to fix this to make it more in line with individual build costs?

I am very sorry. It seems I was mistaken.” The “Dedicated Pistol Slot mod” glitch (large number of blank fields) apparently occurred at the time of loading a game with some progress. It does not occur in the saved data of the tactical map, but in the saved data in Avenger, it creates a large number of blank spaces.

BUG: Nanoscale Vest does not confer critical immunity. Enemies can still do critical damage when flanking Xcom agent.

Addendum: You'll still get some errors from the Script saying it couldn't patch any "_Foundry" TechTemplates, but since that portion is being removed, it's a non-error.

You could probably do Alias Pairs if you really wanted to make those go away (Would require the Tech Templates - Core mod), but ...

You don't need WOTC_LW2_Plating mod if you're using LWotC.

You do need to make some Changes.

In AML,set the 'LW2 Utility Plating' to "Ignored" in Dependencies tab.

In:Config\XComWeaponSkinReplacer.ini, comment out or remove all lines -except- the first one (the header)
Put in this instead:

I'm trying this mod because most of the vest and plates aren't appearing in Engineering, Installing Mid way through a LWOTC campaign. Will let you know how it goes.

In my experience running both.. randomise does its thing THEN this mod adds the ceramic. It might be a chance that it works like that.

As this adds the Ceramic Plating to Rookies on Gatecrasher, is this incompatible with Randomised Gatecrasher Loadouts?

Seems that the author of that mod believes it is compatible according to his description. I guess I'll leave his mod out and stick with this as this mod has what I'm looking for and Dress for Success is more of a luxury mod. Thanks for the prompt reply. Merry Christmas.

I don't remember the details, but the fact that it's written in BIG LETTERS is probably an indication that the incompatibility goes pretty deep.

@Iridar I wonder if you could tell me, is the Dress For Sucess mod only incompatible with regards to the vest slot being locked behind a GTS purchase? And if so, would everything still work as intended once that GTS purchase was made, or is there a more complex incompatibility?

i wish i had money to give to you right now then bc it be nice if this got a LWOTC compatibility Version bc i use Additional Vest Types type since it in mod jam but it be nice have this as well when i sub to it all it said is i dont have [WOTC] LW2 Utility Plating Which is fucking weird since LWOTC all ready has the Plating in it

Because I don't play LWOTC and I don't care about LWOTC. On a rare occasion I added some LWOTC compatibility for my mods because some of my patrons specifically asked for it.

okay tho see how this use a mod called [WOTC] LW2 Utility Plating and code for it is literally in long War of the chosen top of that lot of you mod all ready work with long War of the chosen i dont see why you don't change some you lw2 mods to up date with long War of the chosen

Funnily enough, it was actually not all and hence why one (me) may forgot. I also focused on Super Soldiers which by default had no Upgrade Slots.

I'll actually try and see if I can root out all of them or perhaps find the reason why they were not converted in the first place. Since I didn't get modules. Something must have been fixed because I now do.

One possible culprit, only for not being converted/being double I could easily find might be Buildable Vests (Plated) and definitely Buildable Items (which adds many new ones but also makes vanilla buildable) but I have found Ceramic Plating and its upgrades as well as Pathfinder (3 Mobility) and Bio Division Stuff (at least the Viper).

What may have fixed some things may be Rain's or Lalup's Tweaks since those are the only mods I added which may touch upon the inventory. Not that I see where they may have done something,

But Armour Upgrades kills the slot because it converts all "vest" items into modules to be used on the armour itself? There shouldn't be any need for the vest slot with that mod ...

After having all my configs reset after updating four mods within AML and disabling CI and related as well as the RPG Overhaul in favor of Vanilla Strategy and Proficiency, I tried to track down the culprit as well and finally found it here thanks to the comments. To elaborate on the specifics:

Armour Upgrades has a config entry which kills the slot under all but perhaps one circumstance.

+arrSlotsToKill = (DLC = "WotC_VestSlot", SlotName = "VestSlot"
in
XComArmourUpgrades(dot)ini
has to be commented (;) out

A circumstance either may be CI and its bridge or the RPG Overhaul.

iirc, TeslaRage's mod does have contingency/plans/compatibility for this mod built into it... though I've obviously forgotten the specifics.. you just need to know/understand how they all play together for the desired end results

Ok I am an idiot, as it turns out I did have the one mod you mentioned by TeslaRage, but it was under the name [WOTC] Armour Upgrades, which destroys vests entirely, but at least I found the bloody culprit.

Don't have TeslaRage's Armour Modules mod, but I do have RoboJumpers Squad Select as well as Mod Everything Reloaded. Guess I'll just have to do the old activate one mod after another method to figure out whats going on.

The ArmourMod slot comes from Savage Items afaik, and is used specifically for "aMods" (armour utility items) from that mod

THIS mod uses the Vest slot from Musashi.

These two slots are different and take different items, even though they are doing similar things.

((3rdly, just in case you also have it .. TeslaRage's Armour Modules mod completely obliterates the Vest slot and vests, turning them all into modular-upgrades for armours.. which requires the MCM setting of RoboJumpers Squad select set to NOT "only primaries".. OR .. the Mod Everything Reloaded mod --as noted in the description-- ))

Ok, one last question which hopefully can get things cleared up and allow me to figure out what is breaking this thing, is your mod the one that adds the Armour Mod Slot under the Amour slot, or is it supposed to be a separate slot called Vest as shown in the screenshots.
