Oh wait. I thought railway hotel is vanilla but that's from the Second Unique Infrastructure mod. So it is a mod incompatibility. I assume that would be something the other mod author would probably need to fix? I'll ask a question there.
Silence Webber 24. dec. 2024 kl. 22:36
Seems like Canada's railway hotel can't be built if you don't build the assembly. And it blocks everything else. So if you build the theater, you're just stuck and can't build anything else. Is this a known issue or could this be a bad mod interaction?
LifeIsHard 19. dec. 2024 kl. 20:02
Thanks for the quick response, the wording on some of them was confusing so i just wanted to make sure
JNR  [ophavsmand] 19. dec. 2024 kl. 19:07
all need Gathering Storm, I don't mark them so as a joke...
LifeIsHard 19. dec. 2024 kl. 19:06
Hey, I just wanted to ask if any of your districts reworked mods works in vanilla civ 6, or do they all need gathering storm to work?
Simon Sullivan 17. okt. 2024 kl. 6:11
Excellent - thanks
JNR  [ophavsmand] 17. okt. 2024 kl. 4:10
Same as my response for the Entertainment Expansion
Simon Sullivan 16. okt. 2024 kl. 18:24
It looks pretty awesome and I'm keen to have some differences between cities based on district specialisation, but will it work with Sukritact's Urban Identities? The district has been renamed and are referenced in some of the regions
JNR  [ophavsmand] 13. sep. 2024 kl. 0:37
I just saw the "Villa" building in Civ VII give Influence. Could that be a way forward for the loyalty buildings to make them more on par with Amenities? Granting Influence if the city is at full loyalty? Maybe limiting it to the city having a governor or so.
ChrisMartin 11. sep. 2024 kl. 6:57
Thank you for the tip. I'll check into it.
Nandybear 11. sep. 2024 kl. 5:43
also lol JNR yeah but your mods are AMAZING practice. I doubt I'd know 1% of what I now know because of how radical you went with modding. You've basically taught me modding at this point.
Nandybear 11. sep. 2024 kl. 5:41
There is a hard cap on per-citizen pressure, if for instance you had a bread and circuses running in a golden age, I think you'd hit it ?

The flat change takes a turn change to see. You can edit the numbers in UC_THR_Bonuses_Special.sql and set them crazy high to make sure if it's working or not, maybe it's just subtle and hard to see.
Suk's Concise UI has a great tooltip for loyalty, it shows much more detail on how the enemy is getting hit. If you're not using that, I can't recommend it enough.
ChrisMartin 6. sep. 2024 kl. 4:44
Good to know.
Then I need to check my mod-setup, because there must be a conflict going on in my end.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 5. sep. 2024 kl. 17:16
Just checked, the descriptions are correct. Assembly and Mansion give local loyalty, Grand Hotel gives flat *pressure*, and Broadcast Tower increases the per-citizen pressure.
ChrisMartin 5. sep. 2024 kl. 13:53
The wording for Hotel and Tower deludes to external pressure, but my testing shows me that no such things takes place.
Is there any type of cities / scenarios that will get external pressure?
JNR  [ophavsmand] 5. sep. 2024 kl. 1:23
Idk, I might have misremembered. Cuntism here spends more time with my code than I do at this point.
ChrisMartin 4. sep. 2024 kl. 23:50
I just asked JNR about the loyalty pressure, and author confirmed that it was only internal pressure. And that matches with my experience as well.
Nandybear 4. sep. 2024 kl. 3:13
I like your idea of an offensive action against inoffensive things done to you, I wish the game had more options for that. Like "get the feck out of my borders!", but ya, more consequences! That would be great. I am a mimic-modder though, all I know is what I learn from going through other modder's code and figuring out how stuff works from there, I am extremely unoriginal with my ideas and abilities.
Nandybear 4. sep. 2024 kl. 3:10
Broadcast Tower already does that mate. In fact, I'm fairly certain even the Grand Hotel's pressure modifier is external too.

Currently with this mod, Broadcast Tower acts like a mini bread and circuses - same modifier, half the power though. Your citizens have a pressure per citizen which you know of, and dark ages decrease it, golden age increase it etc. bread and circuses doubles it, but only while running.

But JNR's Broadcast Tower adds a permanent always-running half-powered bread and circuses.

But on top of that I could swear I tested Grand Hotel and it also added pressure, but not in the same way. You know the flat way instead ? Rather than a per citizen one. I remember messing with the numbers (making it stupid high like 200) and seeing it affect a foreign neighbour. I'm almost finished with current game, I'll test it and get back to you. The issue is I change a lot of stuff so I forget what is JNR's and what I've stole off him!
ChrisMartin 2. sep. 2024 kl. 0:21
I agree with the potential use of Broadcast Tower.
Thought; The "Dear leader speaks" could be a offensive action towards other civs. A bit like "Units close to boarder"/ digging up artifacts / spy mission that gets busted.
The Grand Hotel could pressure outwards to friendly civs in a friendly way (like Governor Amani), but stops working if you are at war with that city. Broadcast Tower would be fun in war time.
Nandybear 1. sep. 2024 kl. 11:51
Broadcast Tower affects foreign cities, it's pressure-per-citizen. Personally I upped the numbers, and added a project that requires entertainment district, and the broadcast tower, and called it "dear leader speaks", it does a 2x increase bread and circuses and is unlocked at pop culture, it really helped late game loyalty

Also added +2 pressure per governor to a few late game policy cards using "MODIFIER_PLAYER_GOVERNORS_ADJUST_GOVERNOR_IDENTITY_PRESSURE" then a +4 on the very last card. You can surround cities with governors and projects and just bitch-slap their loyalty, it's a fun way to play.

However if you're gonna mess with loyalty increases, LOYALTY_PER_TURN_FROM_NEARBY_CITIZEN_PRESSURE_MAX_RATIO needs upping. I set it to 6.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 1. sep. 2024 kl. 9:31
Honestly, playing with them myself I found the loyalty bonus pretty forgettable and a downgrade from Amenities for sure. I don't have a good alternative idea yet but I'd also simply love for loyalty to be more relevant even in your core cities. I got some ideas for that but am not sure if I'll ever get around to implementing them.
ChrisMartin 1. sep. 2024 kl. 9:26
Thank you.
I'll adjust my play-style to better place these buildings.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 1. sep. 2024 kl. 9:13
Yes, they're for your own civ only. They work the same as loyalty from monuments, governors, etc.
ChrisMartin 1. sep. 2024 kl. 8:14
Quick question; The loyalty bonuses, are all of them to your own civ, and not pressure outwards to other civ-cities within range?
rousy.mrk 2. maj 2024 kl. 0:05
I wanna play with all your mods but it's so difficult making them work :(
Nandybear 9. mar. 2024 kl. 9:54
Theatre Square used to just be a "necessary evil" to get culture, and not much else. Your additions with regards to loyalty are amazing. It not only adds depth to the district, it adds depth to loyalty pressure gameplay, something I feel really needed a boost. All your district changes are fantastic but this one might genuinely be the best. It's so well thought out, well done.

It's added depth to the way you play and is flexible too, it's something that is really hard to balance. Just wanted to say how much I appreciate the work on this, it really is stellar dude.
Dr.Abominate 8. mar. 2024 kl. 7:46
I mean your mods from all the modder passes 1-4. Great explorers, additional building for Scythia, district for Sumeri, additional marine and environmental policies.
And more maritime sectors, so the great explorers can work.
The rest are UI mods that should not cause errors or throw you out of the game.
Will make some more tests, and let you know. Perhaps it is some of the UI mod.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 7. mar. 2024 kl. 14:41
It didn't need an update. Also, I can play with it just fine, having all district expansions, 6T, etc. What dou mean exactly having "modder passes" mods active?
Dr.Abominate 7. mar. 2024 kl. 11:20
I meant that, all the rest of the mods in this series were updated in 2024, and this one was last updated in 2023.
Sorry I was unclear.
And I'm asking about the update because I tested all the district expansion mods, and when I had it turned on, an error popped up and kicked me out of the game.
After turning it off(this particular mod), the problem disappears, so I assumed that the lack of 2024 update was the problem.
I only had your mods while testing (moder passes + district expansion + T6) plus the latest one from LevitTown.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 7. mar. 2024 kl. 10:57
What is the 2024 standard?
Dr.Abominate 7. mar. 2024 kl. 10:00
@JNR, will you update this to the 2024 standards?
AntipaterTruscus 8. feb. 2024 kl. 9:13
I believe that because of the existence of those two Great Work slots, the new tier 2 buildings are making the already unpleasing Great Work management even more so. In the original game, when I use a Great Artist, I know that Great Work will fall into the Museum, and when I choose Sweden, I know that those museums will be themed for certain after three clicks. With these novel tier 2 buildings, nothing is certain now and I must frequently open the menu and readjust manually. Cabinets can hold ANY type, so it will make things more messy. Books and musics can fall into Cabinets when I probably want them to stay in the slots exclusively for them.
I am not totally against the idea of more slots, I just hope them to be slots exclusively for books or musics, such that uncertainty can be reduced and management can be easier.
GOAT4444 21. jan. 2024 kl. 15:38
Update: Found out it's due to Alliances Expanded, causing city parks to go empire wide once you have certain conditions met (at the very least, one needs an alliance with another civ)
GOAT4444 21. jan. 2024 kl. 10:54
@JNR Dunno what mod is causing it to bug out (I wanna say this one), but when I play with the whole Project 6T modset, I keep finding myself unable to build city parks. Game says I unlock them in Games and Rec, but when I go to build the improvement, it's not letting me.
Shevvek 14. juli 2023 kl. 16:43
The imbalance IMO comes from turning district adjacency directly into tourism. Tourism is a much more valuable late game yield than culture, great work slots, or even great person points.

1. Great work slots, even theme-able ones, are usually not a significant constraint.
2. In culture focused games, late game gold and faith economy is usually so strong that it's trivial to simply buy great people and great works, rather than earning them directly, and AIs will freely sell all of their great works.
3. By the time you build the Hotel, you have enough culture economy that simply winning the game is preferable.

Hotel + double Civic adjacency is enough tourism to be a win condition by itself against deity AI. If the tourism bonus of the Hotel came only from the Appeal tier of the tile, it would be much more reasonable.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 13. juli 2023 kl. 6:28
I don't see how the Grand Hotel is that much better. Keep in mind not *all* bonuses are listed on the description page here.

- Opera House has +1 Culture yield by default, Grand Hotel doesn't

- Opera House grants more Great Musician points and great work slots

- Grand Hotel Culture yield works like Australia's bonus - it's based on the Appeal of the district tile itself, so +2 is the max., it doesn't stack based on the Appeal of surrounding tiles or so

- Grand Hotel Culture can be doubled with policy card, but Opera House Culture bonus can be doubled with theming.

make crash :(

District Expansion: Theater and Spirituality cause my terrain textures to bug out and become blue voids. Any idea why this might be the case? All your other mods work just fine.
Shevvek 17. apr. 2023 kl. 19:44
Suggestion: Opera House could provide a tourism bonus to Great Works in the district, not just a culture yield bonus. That would make for more of a strategic decision as to which building is better in a particular city.
Winn 3. nov. 2022 kl. 13:17
yeah 90% of the times grand hotel is superior to opera house
marzipan 31. okt. 2022 kl. 18:14
Hi JNR - for the Grand Hotel, do you mean that the civic square with a grand hotel gets a standard adjacency bonus for every charming tile bordering it, and a major adjacency bonus for every breathtaking tile bordering it?
Shevvek 15. maj 2022 kl. 23:04
Is it just me or is the Grand Hotel just better than the Opera House?
HaziTru 18. mar. 2022 kl. 18:12
Does the A.I know how to build these buildings properly in these expansion mods ?
H.Humpel 26. jan. 2022 kl. 14:36
Hi JNR,
your mod has been translated into German by Junky and the translation is now part of the Civilization VI Mods - German translations mod pack.
We would be more than happy if you could refer to the language translation in your mod description.
Skalozubio 10. jan. 2022 kl. 20:38
Russian translation is available here - Game and mods - Russian translations

Dear JNR, thank you for your mod.
All your District Expansion mods were translated into russian.
It would be great if you could post a link to the Russian translation of the mod on the page of your mod.
And then even more players will be able to appreciate the beauty and features of your mod.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 15. juli 2021 kl. 15:47
Steam likes to unsubscribe me from discussion threads of my own mods, so please only comment on the "District Expansions" collection page for these from now on. Thanks. I won't see what you write here anymore.
presariogh 15. juni 2021 kl. 14:13
I have this weird bug that cause the great works window failed to open in late game. Pressing W or clicking the great works icon do nothing, the window just doesn't bother to show up, while the game still ran fine without crashing. Weirdly enough, I could use it just fine in early-mid game (when I don't have many great works to move around). Aiming for a culture victory without using moving great works around is pretty annoying.

I'm not even sure this is your mods' bug, but I installed all of your urban complexity series and by far they change the gameplay the most. As far a I remember this bug didn't happen before I installed the last ones (holy site & entertainment expansion).

Anyways, great mods! I have been enjoying this for a long time and encountered no trouble besides this bug!
JNR  [ophavsmand] 7. maj 2021 kl. 3:54
Not added to the adjacency bonus because it's tourism, not culture.
CrisH 7. maj 2021 kl. 3:53
On the subject of the Grand Hotel, is this yield added to the adjacency bonus, i.e. it's a yield of the district itself?
