Does this have any known incompatibilities with the Hitman (LWOTC) class? I can see the promotion option on a Master Sergeant hitman, and only the Hitman
John keL1er 3. jan. kl. 20:06
There is an option to override exp lvl soldier ? It seems that the LWOTC levels do not match the default thresholds.

Thank you for the updates. Mad respect for this modding community.
Povuh 9. mar. 2024 kl. 5:03
As someone who is really bad at recognizing the classes based on their icon (especially with class mods), this mod is very useful.
CyberPelmeshka 24. aug. 2023 kl. 16:22
I installed the Highlander and the game now working and not crushing. very helpful mod by the way. now I dont have to worry if the game just forgot to put a plus on the icon of soldier or he actually dont have enough XP.
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 24. aug. 2023 kl. 8:38
This mod is working with Unit Flag Extended and Detailed Soldier List Redux .... I can't confirm about their "earlier versions" ...
CyberPelmeshka 24. aug. 2023 kl. 2:51
(I have many other mods and I dont know with who it doesnt compatible)
CyberPelmeshka 24. aug. 2023 kl. 2:50
Is this mod working with Additional icons and Detailed soldier list? the mod is crushing my game when i loading a save.
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 16. aug. 2023 kl. 7:31
Should be fixed now :)
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 16. aug. 2023 kl. 4:21
OH!!
Sorry.. my local settings vs workshop defaults
Good catch, I'll update that to set the default flag correctly again
domdom 16. aug. 2023 kl. 1:51
After 15.8. update, mod stopped showing xp numbers, so I had to manually edit config file. I think "bNO_NUM_DISPLAY = false" did the trick, it was set to true by default.
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 28. juli 2023 kl. 3:02
Try taking them on a mission.. iirc, LWotC has a "has been on a mission" requirement hidden into it's promotion rules ...
Soulfire72 28. juli 2023 kl. 1:43
Using Mod Jam/LWOTC... I don't know if this mod is the cause, but my soldiers can't get promotions after finishing covert actions. Currently one of my soldiers is showing 108/105 exp - any ideas?
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 20. juni 2023 kl. 12:27
I don't think either of those adjust how xp is *gained* (recorded as kills).
Should be fine with them.
HKR31 20. juni 2023 kl. 3:17
Is this compatible with 'all soldiers gain xp' and 'covert infiltration' (does it show the correct xp progression)?

Is it supposed to show the white promotion arrow for all soldiers, even when they don’t have a promotion? I was a bit confused by that. I thought that meant they had a promotion available.
michael199310 27. dec. 2022 kl. 9:28
@RustyDios no problem, it's not a big deal, at least now I know, how far my soldiers are from promotion without too much hassle, so it's a win win anyway :)
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 27. dec. 2022 kl. 8:46
It would show unedited yes, as it calculates the XP itself. I doubt this mod or the DSL Redux take any "XP" altering mods into account. Sorry
michael199310 25. dec. 2022 kl. 11:53
For some reason, it doesn't show the correct version of XP on the detailed list. I am using -50% Reduced XP, though I have manually altered the config of that mod to suit my liking. It looks like your mod shows unedited changes from that mod, though they seems to be recalculated accordingly.

Ok! Thanks anyway!
Dragon32 11. apr. 2022 kl. 10:45
@Reckless
Oh. I'm afraid I don't know, I don't use LWotC.
Reckless 11. apr. 2022 kl. 10:15
nope, that's the strange thing. I set "bFULL_NUM_DISPLAY = true" so, i'd expect to see something like the screenshot. But nope. I don't know if mod jam fucked up something?
Dragon32 11. apr. 2022 kl. 6:03
@Reckless
Oh, I thought it literally said "some numbers". The second number is the rank up requirement, are those soldiers at maximum rank?
Reckless 11. apr. 2022 kl. 0:45
I'll post it later then. But just for sake of example, my soldier has, under his name, "110/0". But every soldier is like this
Dragon32 10. apr. 2022 kl. 17:04
@Reckless
I think a screenshot would help.
Reckless 10. apr. 2022 kl. 16:43
any reason why it displays always "some numbers"/0 for me?
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 23. mar. 2022 kl. 7:39
The mod was updated to work with newer features present in the 1.24 Community Highlander.
If it is now crashing for you, please ensure your CHL is up to date.
Dundalion 23. mar. 2022 kl. 2:15
What got updated on 19th March? My LWOTC campaign which was running fine with this mod before it just updated, now crashes every time you start a mission or attempt to load a mid mission save. Removing this mod fixes it. So something in the last update broke something.
tastiger841 13. jan. 2022 kl. 21:54
Master RustyDios, this is not related to this mod: any chance you could disable sectpod's Lightning Field ability?

The stupid AI always deal damage to its own troopers, lol
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 11. aug. 2021 kl. 0:38
Incompatible with the one with ActionStacks, sorry I'll change the description to reflect the correct modname
PreConceptor 11. aug. 2021 kl. 0:23
so is this incompatible with 'NewSkirmisher(Rebalance + New Perks) Patch Version', or RealityMachina's 'Skirmisher Rebalance'? I'm confused because the linked mod and stated mod are not the same, but actionstacks seem to be a thing for the former of the two and not the latter. Is RealityMachina's mod still compatible?
Dragon32 31. juli 2021 kl. 16:46
@Layth36
This isn't set-up for MCM so you need to edit the .ini files.
Layth36 31. juli 2021 kl. 16:26
do i have to edit the ini file to changes something or is there an options menu in-game? if there is a menu it's not showing for me, neither in campaign or main menu.
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 23. juli 2021 kl. 6:13
Yes, that is one huge exploit in farming kills and xcom2 has been like this since release. If you use a mod that can turn off "rank up throttling", you don't even need multiple missions.

"Rank Up Throttling" is the thing that limits it to one promotion = one mission.

There are some big overhauls that address reinforcement kills or fully change the system (like LWotC), but doing that is outside the scope of this mod. :)
Rux21 23. juli 2021 kl. 5:42
Thanks for the clarifications. I guessed about some of the features of the mechanics of gaining experience, but after your answer, I was completely convinced of them. And I want to note that this experience system has a large exploit that allows you to gain a large amount of experience in one mission for all subsequent promotions, for example, on killing losts or specral zombies (participation in the mission will be enough for the next promotions)
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 21. juli 2021 kl. 11:16
In XCOM2 kills ~= Exp. They are the same.
The number does 'roll up' .. any overfill on one mission will still be there until you promote the soldier then it will increase to the next rank threshold.

In general 1 Alien = 1 kill ... however some units don't count as a full kill (eg lost, are 1/4 kill) ... participating soldiers also get a share of this, the 'kill assist' value of their class ... and then there is also a hidden number of 'bonus kills' added for completing a mission (exp)

This mod changes nothing of the working mechanics of the Kills-XP system, it merely provides a means to see the numbers in the UI/HUD:
.. in the form of [current kills] / [required for next promotion]

There are other mods that will allow you to view these numbers when not ina mission, such as Extended Personnel Info or Detailed Soldier Lists (toggle details)

~ I hope that was informative and helpful :) and thankyou for the detailed feedback :)

2. It is not clear how the operative gains experience only for participating in missions and for kill assists. At the same time, I noticed that they gain experience even if they did not deal damage and did not take part in the kills. Based on this, it would be more convenient to delineate experience in the form of an absolute numerical value, and not in kills, and also show how much and who gets experience in these units for certain actions (like in xcom lw 1).
3. I mentioned this above, and would like to find out what happens to the excess experience during the mission, when the operator already has a sufficient number to increase (for example, 11/8 kills). Does this experience just disappear, or is it taken into account in the subsequent promotion (for example, will it really be 11/18 or 8/18)? I would also like to see the current experience of the fighters not only in missions, but also in the barracks between missions, it would be very nice.
Rux21 21. juli 2021 kl. 10:11
Perhaps the only mod that allows you to control the experience before being promoted. That being said, I like that he correctly calculates the experience from killing losts. But after playing with it enough, I discovered several limitations then I will try to outline them.
1. Let's say an operative got a promotion during a mission based on the required number of kills achieved (for example, 8/8). However, further kills / kill asists are still counted in this counter, for example, 9/8, etc., while he already has an increase and this additional experience is not counted in next promotion level. Thus, in subsequent missions, this counter is saved and incorrectly reflects the current experience of the operator (show for example 11/8 but not 8/8).
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 21. juni 2021 kl. 15:22
I do not alter the size of the text in mod, I just shift stuff about. For this particular element of the UI there isn't any "font size" parameter .. sorry
Hero 19. juni 2021 kl. 11:58
How doi make the text smaller. It's huge
tastiger841 23. apr. 2021 kl. 8:16
Master RustyDios is my Commander always :steamhappy:
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 23. apr. 2021 kl. 6:21
@Tyler Chambers
Very good idea and suggestion. Mod updated with a new config option to do just that ;)
Vegeta002 23. apr. 2021 kl. 3:51
Is there a way to get rid of the nickname between the first and last name, so that the smaller text only shows the rank and first/last name?

The duplicate nicknames is about the only down side to this.
GargakOfTheEast 14. apr. 2021 kl. 9:56
Not all heroes wear capes.

This mod, and the No Crate Missions mod, are two of the best QOL upgrades for the game.

Enjoy the golden unicorn <3
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 1. apr. 2021 kl. 4:38
Well, I thank you for the honour :) !
Dragonlord 1. apr. 2021 kl. 4:35
Yes i did add it don't start looking at your mod :)
Dragonlord 1. apr. 2021 kl. 4:35
strAvatarNickName = "Rustydios" Seems fine to me ;)
RustyDios  [ophavsmand] 1. apr. 2021 kl. 4:25
Wait, you guys still have me as the commander ? Or is this just an homage?
The localization file should be empty in the workshop upload.
Dragonlord 1. apr. 2021 kl. 4:24
@devil_Cloud38 kinda late but i played with it in LwotC and had no issues.
