If you're playing LWOTC, that's an Advanced Setting you have to select at the start of the campaign, if I remember correctly.

how to disable this restriction - "already picked a class ability at this rank" so that you can select multiple abilities at one level.

is there anyway to change the random perks a class gets?

Presumably not just this mod? It needs the Highlander and MCM

after further troubleshooting its not really a crash just mad buggy, gets stuck with no characters or ui on screen until i press the steam overlay, the characters reappear offcenter and headless, audio still functions. weird stuff this happens with only this mod installed

Once again, New Promotion Screen By Default is a totally different mod from Community Promotion Screen.

Community Promotion Screen is literally marked as required by LWOTC.

But the LWOTC manual says:
"Mods whose functionality is integrated into LWotC, or duplicated by LWotC: [WOTC] New Promotion Screen By Default"

So, as I understand it, most of the functionality of your mod is integrated into LWOTC. I would like to understand what additional features LWOTC players will get by installing this mod.

LWotC has it's own version of this mod built-in iirc.

Hello I just want to report a minor bug:

In tutorial mission, when you have to promote Jane Kelly for the first time, the "new soldier ability" still pop up even though I have checked the "disable new class popup" in the setting. It works fine after that so this issue only apply to the tutorial and in that particular case.

Whether XCOM abilities are present or not is something that depends on how individual class is set up, the promotion screen wouldn't have any effect on that, it simply shows all perks present on the class.

XCOM abilities - if they were there - would be visible from the start, Training Center isn't required to see them, just to be able to unlock them.

You're using Amalgamation classes?

Coming across a potential bug. I just built the Training Center in game, but no XCOM abilities are showing up. (other than faction soldiers, which was already there). I deleted the facility and console commanded it back, thinking that would help, but it wouldn't. Any ideas?

Tooltips in Mod Config Menu sometimes get bugged, and don't work. You need to reopen the mod config page.

Some soldier abilities are bound to specific inventory slots, e. g. Chain Shot is bound to primary weapon slot, because you will be firing the primary weapon with it.

This information might be relevant for specific abilities in specific mod setups, but you probably do not need it.

@Iridar: hovering the mouse over the option doesnt give any tooltip. I tried many time, even press and hold my mouse over the option on mod setting.

I still dont understand what that option does even after your explanation. Do you mean what hotkey (1,2,3...) that ability will be assigned to in tactical combat?

Hold the mouse over and a tooltip with explanation will appear. This option will display to which inventory slot this ability is bound, if any.

what does the option "display inventory slot" do? it's off by default so I'm curious.

I was having the same problem as many others where this mods promotion screen wouldn't show.
For me i believe the fix was removing "Primary Secondaries" mod and replacing it with " True Primary Secondaries" along with it's dependencies.

I noticed Einfachillu below was using Primary Secondaries as well.

The mod works fine for tons of people, the issue must be on your end. It's up to you to find. Follow the recomendations Dragon32 linked.

It's a huge stretch to say RPGO is compatible with LWOTC. Some people do use them together, but it requires the LWOTC to RPGO compatibility patch mod, and potentially more than that. I don't use either so can't say for sure what's needed.

But when playing with RPGO and LWOTC, you're not supposed to use the Community Promotion Screen.

Im lost. So this isnt compatible with Musashi's RPG overhaul, but its (according to AML) required for LWOTC. MRPGO is compatible with LWOTC and my game is crashing to desktop before the Menu Screen comes up. So trying to find whats causing a crash has my brain going in circles

Make sure you're not using any incompatible mods.

Anybody got advice on how to fix the promotion perks just not appearing? The whole skill tree doesn't appear anymore once I installed this.
