I like what the mod is trying to do, but that strikes me as too rigid. And if the only way to resolve the problem were to take control and alter the tradition, whilst better, I'd still find that sort of unsatisfying. I'd suggest some more depth to dissent from a house tradition
Aurcalon 24. juni kl. 4:23
How is a house tradition changed once established? I tried the mod, with my starting character being a child whose father was house head, his choice meant the traits of glutton and lustful were favoured within the house, and when my character grew up, his children adopted either of those traits, which I didn't really want. Even being a black sheep that became house head upon my father's death, it seemed there's no way of altering the house tradition.

@Freyr I probably won't have the bandwidth to offer any integration help with something as involved as that. You could try to model after this mod but it might be a pretty arduous process between the architecture being from very early days of my modding experience and a lot of brute force/repetition and the fact it cross integrates multiple files for weighting the chances of taking a particular trait so it might be very time-consuming if not difficult to comb through.

You can send me discord if you haven't already. I go by the same name on the CK3 modding Co-op server.

@Beyond Disbelief I am looking for a way to designate a family/house/dynasty as the holder of a council/court position for generations by automatically educating each generation/heir in the corresponding skill. The people on CK3 subreddit thinks it is close to what you have done with this mod. Is this something you would be interested in for this mod? If not, may I potentially build upon your mod or would you like to talk about this idea over discord or sth?
cuomo860 27. maj kl. 10:12
Eh, from the sound of it, it’s more like the dead “”Dynastic Relations” mod than this one. I think HT is safe.
Quinnius 22. maj kl. 12:45
My investigation regarding the AGOT wildling marriage led me here. I can see someone has reported it in April already. So it is the 00_marriage_scripted_modifiers.txt files that clash and simply renaming the file wouldn't work.

Would it be possible to make this compatbile with the Hiraeth - Dynasty Legacies Overhaul mod ( https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2697392271&searchtext=hiraeth )? There used to be a compatability patch, but sadly it is no longer being updated ( https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3310228217&searchtext=hiraeth )

Idk if its possible or it might be too difficult but would there be any way to put traditions for my valyrian steel artifacts like dawn? Always wanted my family to earn their blades lol

@Gabmaister @afifkow23 @Minus1983 @-=Illumifant=-

Updated via DiffMerge but do not have time to test it. Please LMK if there's any issues.
Gabmaister 15. maj kl. 4:15
Can we get an update to this excellent mod? Thanks.
afifkow23 11. maj kl. 22:01

please update

Does this mod need to be updated for the latest DLC?
Beyond Disbelief  [ophavsmand] 27. apr. kl. 15:12
@SockeySoka try swapping the load order between this mod and AGoT. I'll look into it the next time I have time to play.
SockeySoka 26. apr. kl. 7:47
This mod is great, but I'm pretty sure the changes to marriage in this mod are the reason Wildlings keep ending up married to the Starks and a million other Westerosi houses. I think that needs looking into.
0th Law 19. apr. kl. 12:22
In the comments for Valor, it notes that, for a ruler living 25 years, they'd need to win two wars with no losses to break even on legitimacy. However, since you lose 1.125 monthly, or 13.5 annually, and since a war against a target on the same tier grants 62.5 legitimacy, "breaking even" requires winning a war once every 4 years and 7 months, which I don't think is very sustainable unless you have a warmonger faith. If you want a pace of 2 wars/25 years, then you'd want to lower the monthly loss from 0.75 to 0.277.

Yay, update! :D

Darkwing Phoenix 27. mar. kl. 15:34
Mod works perfectly fine, no need for updates :)
Zarathustra 16. mar. kl. 6:05
@YBKiller
You'll need to found a cadet branch of your dynasty. Only way.
YBKiller 15. mar. kl. 17:03
How do I change my tradition after its set?
caburn 13. mar. kl. 19:09
Hey thanks for making a fantastic mod. I use this in just about every game I play, it's just super nice. Hope you continue to keep it updated, but even if you don't, you rock!
Iskander 25. feb. kl. 10:05
Alright, thanks for the answer!
I'll keep my hands of your great work.
Beyond Disbelief  [ophavsmand] 25. feb. kl. 4:34
@Islander adding your own is a pretty huge endeavor. Modifying existing is possible but it requires changing a lot of things all over multiple files or weird things would happen; you’d need to fully understand how everything is linked that even I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Iskander 21. feb. kl. 6:14
Is it easy to add my own house tradition? Or to change the traits of an existing house tradition? Or are there many interlinked mechanics that would mess things up?
Danie 10. feb. kl. 9:12
Same issue as @Dajay42, not sure if these errors are actually affecting anything but they do get spammed in the error log.
Zarathustra 4. feb. kl. 5:00
@kapsellola Yeah, I can confirm it does. I've used it in POD before.
kapsellola 4. feb. kl. 4:07
Does it work with POD?
DaJay42 2. feb. kl. 4:15
Currently setting up a new game, and would have liked to use this mod. However upon starting the game I'm getting an enormous amount of error log messages about it. Looks like a lot of things in house_traditions_events are broken or use wrong syntax. Unfortunaty, it looks like I'll have to skip on this.
AmirJamali 31. jan. kl. 15:47
I do not see a major decision to establish a house tradition.
Beyond Disbelief  [ophavsmand] 25. jan. kl. 23:27
@Strangelove can you elaborate on that? Most of the events don't even trigger for the player.
Strängelöve 25. jan. kl. 17:16
Events are way too spammy.
Beyond Disbelief  [ophavsmand] 15. jan. kl. 12:51
@Nibbes I'm not sure what legacy you're talking about? Scourge of Gods is a modifier for conquerors. Norse legacies Adventure and Pillage are both supported.
Nibbes 15. jan. kl. 12:00
Can you add the Norse the scourge of god legacy? Norman too?
ΑLΕΡΗ 7. jan. kl. 5:51
@Beyond Disbelief
I am wrong, thank you for your response. thank you for the great mod <3
Beyond Disbelief  [ophavsmand] 6. jan. kl. 18:05
@aleph swap their load order for now and see if that helps.
Doudline 5. jan. kl. 10:53
@IamtheJok4911 All CK3 mods are achievement compatible.
IamtheJoke4911 28. dec. 2024 kl. 15:17
is this achievement compatible?
DangerTrick 17. dec. 2024 kl. 14:47
@Beyond Disbelief hallo is there a way to change tradition mid game after choosing one already?
cuomo860 17. dec. 2024 kl. 7:43
Within my Super Compatch are the compatched files for Houses Traditions other mods. I have compatched most of the major childhood education mods and anyone can feel free to use those files even if they don't use the whole compatch.
Beyond Disbelief  [ophavsmand] 16. dec. 2024 kl. 11:22
@MRKripo For CK3, the mod lower in the load order will overwrite files above it.

Sounds like the other mod made changes to the childhood events which it depends on and loads incorrectly because it is missing unless you load it last.

Just note that if this is the case, any Noble Houses using Valor tradition will be losing out on one of their major perks in prowess education for all their kids as they become an adult.

As a general reminder: Please try to seek out the other mod creators for support for their mods. I really do not have the capacity, interest, nor technical skills to provide QA for other people's mods and find out what their mods are doing.
MRKripo 16. dec. 2024 kl. 0:10
The problem that if I disable Travelers or this mod they dissapear. I am not saying that Travelers overwrite it. I am just saying that it somehow it causes issues with other mods which overwrite it and cause problems. I just shuffled your mod up in the list before Travelers and it stoped appearing.
Beyond Disbelief  [ophavsmand] 15. dec. 2024 kl. 19:54
@MRKripo Nope. This mod does not overwrite coming_of_age.1001.

As to coming of age I just double checked in Diffmerge the only thing it overwrites is coming_of_age.0003 due to special prowess education mechanics for the Valor tradition, the rest of the code are identical to vanilla. If you have issues with 1001 you should have issues even with the mod disabled as the relevant code are untouched and identical.
MRKripo 15. dec. 2024 kl. 14:05
Cant be sure about this but for any future struggles with black boxes. It is event windows from what I saw and they appear and dissapear immidiatly because there is some conflict with other mods. For me error log showed it 5 times with error that event "}" doesnt have any options. Cant be 100% sure but this mod contains 5 events with "is_travelling" limit (coming_of_age.1001 for example) which is I think vanilla event but overwritten in the mod??? For me black boxes was in strange conflict with "Travelers", strange because it doesnt contain this events from what I have seen but for me at least this black boxes only appeared after each time when I begin to travel, disabling it and later shuffling this mod before it in load order helped(But Travelers is 2 mod in my load order before other 70 so it most likely one of this) Hope this long comment will help anyone to find the root of their version of the problem
Aaaargh 15. dec. 2024 kl. 1:25
Thanks for your reply, I finally found that there was a conflict with Better Battles Updated. I will convey this issue to its author and continue to enjoy this mod :)
Beyond Disbelief  [ophavsmand] 13. dec. 2024 kl. 9:40
@Aaaargh You should consider asking the mod you have that has the acronym LMF, Lulu, or any vietnamese mods you have. I am not able to answer any questions or issues pertaining to other people's mods.
Aaaargh 13. dec. 2024 kl. 8:43
Hello, I really like this great mod. Sometimes, it was found that an event box background without images or text would appear, flash by in half a second, but this did not cause the game to interrupt or crash. I have no idea. Maybe it's a mod conflict? Tests have excluded LMF/unofficial patch/lulu and VIET.
Beyond Disbelief  [ophavsmand] 12. dec. 2024 kl. 16:11
@dpmx1131 swap the load order and let agot override this one. You'll lose out on the house tradition marriage preferences but I think honoring AGOT's setup is probably more important. I can look into better compatibility with agot next time i get into CK3.
dpmx1131 12. dec. 2024 kl. 13:58
the -1000 wilding marriage debuff is gone when using only this mod is there a agot compatch.
