Not the worst bug to have either, having unlimited fuel.
As for lifting the full barrels, I see your point #Kraz. Being the same (or lesser) weight than the stoves, it's about the gameplay. But playing devil's advocate: I almost never play strong enough characters to carry the stoves without harm lol. I honestly think that the enormous weight is enough to still want a gas can on-hand. If you're willing to meet a split community half way, adding it as a non-default sandbox option would probably make a lot of people happy.
Just feels tedious to have to fill a ton of cans, then take them to base and fill the barrel since you can't move it
