I have updated this since the events are over and new items being added is probably postponed till the summer update. New version here https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2916344996

I agree with Geebanger0. I think it's about time we brought a class action lawsuit down on Valve to either add these strange weapons to the game, or compensate the community accordingly.
Geebanger0 23. nov. 2022 kl. 23:26
Valve it’s been 261 days you still owe us these strange weapons
Danny 15. apr. 2022 kl. 18:13
I'm starting to get a hunch that Valve isn't going to update TF2 again.
Geebanger0 15. apr. 2022 kl. 17:34
Valve it’s been 36 days you still owe us these strange weapons
Zooloo 11. apr. 2022 kl. 11:32
I still want these!
kajzer 2. apr. 2022 kl. 8:34

Valve, it’s been 22 days, you still owe us these strange weapons
Danny 25. mar. 2022 kl. 15:06
Yes, I agree, I would like a strange gas passer.
The video board game Rap Rat 25. mar. 2022 kl. 4:16
Valve needs to add Jungle Inferno strangifiers, same with Scottish Handshake and Objector
Geebanger0 23. mar. 2022 kl. 22:29
Valve, it’s been 16 days, you still owe us these strange weapons
Dr. Kumturd J. Shartworthy 18. mar. 2022 kl. 15:19
I'd pay top dollar for a strange Sign
Danny 17. mar. 2022 kl. 19:14
I can only assume that Big Trade™ is keeping this from getting added.
Geebanger0 17. mar. 2022 kl. 18:47
It’s been 9 days why hasn’t it been added yet
Zooloo 14. mar. 2022 kl. 14:36
This is an absurdly good idea and I'm so happy all the work was done. I hope Valve sees this and includes it!
Geebanger0 13. mar. 2022 kl. 16:34
Well said, however I’m still without a strange short circuit so maybe valve should get onto this and add it already

I think that goes against mvm's theme of having robo related stuff drop so unless they made a new tour that somehow involved strangifiers I don't think that would work (and there's no way they're adding a new tour lol).

There is no reason to care about prices dropping, it happens with literally every item that is tradable. And because these aren't actually new items there's no impact on the price of the items they apply to. I don't know why yall are talking about existing economy stuff. The only price impact implementation of this is going to have is if they actually made the 2nd crate drop less and I mean that's just common supply demand.

I believe they moved away from crates because cases made the compensation part to effect makers easier, however this crate shouldn't have any issues with that because (I think) no one needs compensation for strangifiers coming from here or any of the OG unu effects (I wouldn't say no to like 0.01% of sales or w/e, but I'm not expecting anything more than a shoutout in patch notes, IF it's added at all anyway). With that in mind there's no reason why valve should be opposed to crates for this use case imo.
kajzer 13. mar. 2022 kl. 13:12
I LOVE this! but i'm not sure if valve would want to bring back crates just to get these strangifiers. i always thought that new strangifiers could be incorporated in mvm. They could be like 20%-50% drop rate from normal and intermediate missions. in my opinion pros could be:
+more interest in doing easier mvm missions
+less likely for price to drop drastically because playing mvm takes time
+money for valve from buying mvm tickets
possible cons that i thought about:
-The two cities "elite" would probably play a lot to farm new items, so the toxicity in lower campaigns would possibly rise.
-it could take some time for strangifiers to drop to reasonable price (first drops would sell for a lot more because it's not so easy to farm them).

But that just my thoughts...
Geebanger0 11. mar. 2022 kl. 23:54
Idea: trade lock all keys and refined metal
Beep Boy 11. mar. 2022 kl. 21:41
Finally! Strange version of all non-strange weapons. Can't wait to get this accepted. Good job.
Danny 11. mar. 2022 kl. 15:17
I believe we need some input from trader mains here. Simulations need to be ran and risk assessments need to be filled out. Trader mains are a large part of what is still holding TF2 together and it could end a hell of a lot of peoples careers to just go changing the schema willy-nilly.
Geebanger0 11. mar. 2022 kl. 15:08
And if this gets added, it’ll affect the traders which is to be expected. That’s the risk you take basing you career on the fact that a video game won’t be updated (it’s a fairly reasonable assumption in this case, but still)
Danny 11. mar. 2022 kl. 7:11
With the lack of updates to TF2, being a trader main has been pretty stable for the last 7 or so years except for that one big ol' crate mishap.
Geebanger0 10. mar. 2022 kl. 23:23
I meant a stable job, one that brings in consistent income.
Danny 10. mar. 2022 kl. 10:14
Trader maining is a job. It's commodity trading.
Geebanger0 10. mar. 2022 kl. 3:42
That’s the risk you take with trading. Sometimes you’ll make lots of profit, other times you’ll lose money when new items are added. Also, you could just get a job.
Patch 9. mar. 2022 kl. 21:02
I would love a big kill strangifier. But that would also be very god damn expensive.

As for the jumpers, I think a fun counter would be "self-damage prevented" since, yknow, you cant kill with it and merely having it as a cosmetic strange wouldn't need it to be used, despite being a 'weapon'
Catter 9. mar. 2022 kl. 18:52
Honestly I'd kill for a Banana and Dragons Fury Strangifier
Danny 9. mar. 2022 kl. 16:50
No one is asking the most important question here. How will this affect the TF2 economy? Won't anyone think of the trader mains?
Mike Habbages 9. mar. 2022 kl. 14:07
I think passive items like the wee booties/gunboats/base jumper/cozy camper should count as cosmetics where they rank up as you score points and the ranks are based on cosmetics (i.e. ragged, fashionable, mann co. select, etc.)
Lunarian Jester 9. mar. 2022 kl. 13:37
Conscientious Objector*

My Collectors Objector is SCREAMING for this strangifier to be added.
Geebanger0 8. mar. 2022 kl. 21:41
Fair
[dustbowl.tf] jh34ghu43gu  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2022 kl. 20:34
Just because there is trackers for other aspects of the game does not mean there exists a tracker for it for strange items. Search "kill_eater_score_types" in the item schema for the full list of existing attributes that can be tracked. Anything else would almost certainly require some code in order to be properly tracked.
Geebanger0 8. mar. 2022 kl. 20:29
Also, the base jumper could track distance fallen (achievements are able to track that), and the jumper weapons could track jumps performed (same with the gunboats)

Danny 8. mar. 2022 kl. 18:59
God bless you, turtle man. This is exactly what TF2 needs! :murica::mashyourmotor::trump:
DrIvanRadosivic 8. mar. 2022 kl. 15:00
yes, thank you for this! :D
person man 8. mar. 2022 kl. 14:51
hello yes strange hot hand ok hot hand very epic thanks
[dustbowl.tf] jh34ghu43gu  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2022 kl. 13:28
It's whatever. From an unboxer standpoint I did not want the promo/craft crate to be common because 80% of that crate would become 1 ref items after a month (demand for unobtainable weapons would fall off VERY quickly). Crate for drop items should be common tho since many people will always want every strangifier in that crate.
Geebanger0 8. mar. 2022 kl. 12:58
Also, this needs to be a common crate drop so that we can get strangifiers for everything easily. Not a chance that I’m paying 100 keys for all of them like the gunslinger.
Geebanger0 8. mar. 2022 kl. 12:55
YES! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! THIS IS WHAT IM LOOKING FOR THIS IS WHAT I NEED! GET THIS ADDED TO THE GAME!
platinum guy 8. mar. 2022 kl. 10:49
Oops, I called wrong about "crates" and thanks for giving your thoughts to new unusuals for old gen hats (that would be great I think).
[dustbowl.tf] jh34ghu43gu  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2022 kl. 10:24
@Randy nope but hey I did probably half the work (5 hours yeesh) so maybe that's enough motivation for someone over there to do the other half (maybe this is only 1/4 idk what all they actually gotta do behind the scenes).

@Rifleman crates* not cases. I did not modify the crate name because that would have required a new line in the language files. And personally I think it would be neat of them to make these crates draw from every case specific unusual effect instead of the gen1-3 pool so that old hats would be able to get some newer effects. That probably requires a lot of work to get proper payouts to the effect creators though so I did not include the idea in the post or attempt to make the schema use it (not sure I could).
platinum guy 8. mar. 2022 kl. 10:00
Bringing old cases instead of new ones.

Reject Modernity

Return to Humanity

What about calling them as "Unknown Player's Forgotten Case Series" ?
And adding REAL cosmetics ?
Violent Randy! 8. mar. 2022 kl. 7:18
ahhahahahhaha you think valve wiill add this no
aceman 8. mar. 2022 kl. 5:34
strange eureka effect pls
ShadowMan44 8. mar. 2022 kl. 0:31
Yesssss strange dragon's fury
[dustbowl.tf] jh34ghu43gu  [ophavsmand] 7. mar. 2022 kl. 23:34
@spy as stated I'm not sure on the internal processing of gas passer events and personally I would think kills caused by the afterburn would take priority over its "jar" functionality. Of course dual quality could be an option.
[dustbowl.tf] jh34ghu43gu  [ophavsmand] 7. mar. 2022 kl. 23:31
IK ;-; Although from a quick search no one has submitted this idea (that being adding missing strangifiers) to the workshop yet, only on forums. Maybe the attention on workshop is different /shrug
