Thanks for the info Unlce Revie. I will get the other lines done when I finish the main line. I have a version which track is up to the station before Bournemouth but no scenery and track needs work etc.
The places you mentioned, could you be more specific? SWT is South West Trains, right? And FGW is?
I would have to say I am more familiar with your signalling and brake systems etc (railway ops) than I am with the geography and comapny/railway lines.

@matt.tyson swt do not use Diesel on this line this line is purley electric unless you go via dorchester west which swt does not serve anyway. @Daniel this lines primary power is not diesel its electric as swt use it more then fgw. No station on the direct line between weymouth & waterloo is managed by fgw only swt. I would also suggest that if you are planning to map the entire network or the mainline and branch lines this should include heritage railways and also the Lymington line which is also being operated by swt currently. Also it should include lines to Romsey, Salisbury, The West of England Line, and the surrounding areas covered by swt including Reading.

Both. Heading towards Bristol via Maiden Newton and also Waterloo via Wool/Bournemouth.

id prefer without swanagw railway as it would mean it would take longer to get to london waterloo, id like you to keep to diesel along the mainline, hope this helps

@Rusty Buffer, I actually like the convenience of the Steam Workshop, despite the limits it places on items which you can use, because at least it reduces the hassle of hunting down items used and you get to manage things relatively easily...

But, thanks for the pointer to UKTS! :-) I should try it out, once, when I find some time :-)

Hey thanks Rusty! It's nice to know people are trying the route out.

tnleeuw:
Steam-era Weymouth to Waterloo? Try UKTS file 33172 'Southampton to Weymouth' for the western section. For another well-respected Hymek-period portrayal of the Weymouth to Dorchester line, try UKTS 32192 and UKTS 32296 and enjoy 'Four Counties'.

Daniel:
What you're doing looks good also; if your interest doesn't flag before you pass Southampton heading eastwards you'll (as far as I know) be breaking new RW/TS ground. I wish you success - and stamina!

staright to waterloo?

Although it's good to have two 'competing' Waterloo to Weymouth routes, it would be great if one version could be in modern times and the other in steam era. I'd love to see a Southern Railways steam-era route, would be the ideal place for the Light Pacifics and the Q1, and it could still be used for driving the older slam-door Southern stock to provide some variation.

If u do Swanage u could do a Railtour From London - Swanage Like A Swanage Belle

Dave I might conside it. Have you driven the route yet? Please tell me what you think.
Also there is some construction going on at Dorchester. Do you live near there? Able to provide photos?

Not to have the Swanage Branch would be a MAJOR problem! Scenarios can then be done from Swanage to London Waterloo and vice versa.
