The pumpkins just fading into existence looks a bit odd. Maybe a transition where they grow? Still a really cool effect. Always a fan of nice trailing effects.

Such a cool idea, the sprite work is awesome! Though I kinda wish I could see a version with less orange haze and maybe a sort of small lightning bug effect? Could add or take away from the main idea but just an idea.
