I couldn't find a way to break the first monitor, but I broke the second one.

Hint for the first puzzle:
You can bounce the cube on the aerial faith plate (the plate that throws you with high velocity). Can you find a way to get the cube there while you are in another room?

Hint for the second puzzle:
If you find a way to touch a fizzler, then you'll be able to place a portal that's not connected to the other portal. This is the key to solving the second puzzle.

First room is great! The respawn sneak is beautiful. Room number 2 is also quite good, Nice null trick. Very solid that had me giddy!

Wow, another good one! Thanks for making this.

Yep, these just keep getting better and better. Both amongst the more challenging puzzles in your workshop up to the date it was published. Although, I kind of hope I cheesed the first one a bit. I couldn’t see any other way to get the cube in the funnel for the last part so I strafed and hit the wall to break my momentum so I could land on the platform to respawn the cube, then used the faith plate to launch myself to the platform with the fizzler button, funneled the cube over top of the faith plate, and then let it go, setting the portal on the surfaces directly opposite and higher than the fizzler while on the button. The strafe was the part that irked me a little - not at all hard for someone like myself to execute, but certainly not a “pure-logic” move either .

That second puzzle though… damn. I knew it would be preferable for me to clear my portals at some point but could not figure out how. It would have taken much longer had I not messed around with what I thought was the silly idea of using the cube to jump into the funnel in the area that was initially used to stop the cube from being fizzled , before noticing that all-important portal surface that it took many a while to see. That’d be my one other complaint about this map - many people would never think to look back there, and if it were me I’d probably place it on the furthest-back wall with a grate if need be, highlighting its importance with a light-bar or something of the sort. I didn’t even think it was at all possible to access that faith plate until I saw that surface, and realized it was not only possible but necessary to the intended solution.

But besides the puzzle details themselves, I really like how your aesthetics continue to grow more refined with each of these maps. At least that’s how it feels to me. The reusage of the moving portal surface in the first chamber along with the reusage of the funnel itself is absolutely ingenious and not something one would see in the official campaign.

Great work all in all. Get in my favorites collection.

Difficulty: 4.5/10 (this is a bit of reconciliation between the personal difficulty I had, which I’d place around 3.75, and an objective difficulty: this score would be much higher for the less-experienced)
Enjoyed: 8.25/10

Oops I skipped the last part. I didnt realize you were supposed to reset portals with the fizzler, since that is possible to do by just pressing R so that is what I did.

Yeah I just never once saw that portal surface in the second half of the map and couldn't solve the puzzle. All the hints in people's comments left me lost. Had to watch the video and see a surface I never witnessed before.

Really liked this test. First part took way longer than it should have because I seemed to loose sight that the re-spawned cube could sit int the funnel indefinitely while I set other things up . I agree with others who commented that standing on the cube and resetting the portals with the fizzler were cool parts of the test.
Calwin 26. sep. 2019 kl. 12:32
That took a little too much time, but I finally did it. I somehow got stuck even though I sort of had it much earlier. It's a humbling game.
zeo1337 26. juni 2019 kl. 19:39
Lol I didn't jump on the cube or use the funnel to get to the emancipation grill. The wall is close enough to the floor portal to jump.
Teo 4. apr. 2019 kl. 13:50
Really fun! I liked the first one a lot better than the second but still both or really good. I'd say easy to medium but it has been 5 years so things have probably changed a lot

Another fantastic level of Ben77!

Nice, using many game mechanisms & combinations, reverse orders, etc (no spoil) ... found it way easier than others from Ben, but may be i'm just getting trained :)

That map is so awesomely crazy.
Teresa 20. aug. 2017 kl. 22:04
First part is harder than the second ,and jumping on a cube is impressing
Nader 16. juni 2017 kl. 16:24
First part was harder than the second one, Overall design is briliant as excpected from Ben77 :D

Another excellent map.

Astonishing. Lof of fun and very well designed, may be one of your best maps. Thanks for professional map.
TaiMai13 18. jan. 2017 kl. 4:20
Another amazing map. I was really excited to see the clever use of the emancipation grill. As usual, I was looking for one to clear my portals (and mind!) so that I could think more clearly when I realized that was actually part of the puzzle. . Absolutely Brilliant!!
bullfrog 13. jan. 2017 kl. 1:40
Great map with some clever concepts. I managed to solve and execute it quite quickly, which is surprising as I completed your ‘Polarity’ test chamber earlier this morning and my brain is still frazzled!
Diab 27. dec. 2016 kl. 17:00
This map is a pure Masterpiece. Tricks are carefully designed (i don't even know you can do what you do with the cube in the first part of the test) . Great job Guy, really, again.
AKUSIROYO 8. mar. 2016 kl. 7:58
Finally I figured out how to go through that grill for reset portal in the second part. I didn't realize like 30 min that I could make portal there for faithplate . And sometimes we forget cubes can work as platform . Thank you for nice map!
Petutski 28. nov. 2015 kl. 13:58
Excellent map using advance techniques mentioned by others. Thanks!
Woodbeam 30. maj 2015 kl. 21:09
Fantastic chamber! There's just one significant problem in the first part that stumped me for a bit. When you need to fling yourself using the surfaces next to the cube dispenser button, you can hit the bit of the wall that's sticking out directly above them, causing you to fall short. I don't see a reason for that bit to be sticking out, and making it flush with the portal surfaces would solve this problem. Anyway, thanks for the great chamber! I'm going to play all your others and you've definitely earned a follow.

it was wicked puzzle. love it
TS_Mind_Swept 16. feb. 2015 kl. 16:38
great map, couldn't solve it, so i looked at the comments and watched a tidly bit of your video, then in the second part i glitched the map, I am so terrible. XD Looked great, and had great puzzles, but I just couldn't see the obvious. I still like it though. 8/10

Wow. I realized that I needed to delete my portals, and looked around - it isn't possible. LATER I found that portal surface to the dropper, and I thought, and why should I jump there? It took SO long to put these two thoughts together. xD I feel so stupid, because I did such a level too, if you're interested: LEVEL 17 http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=226644211
SunnyOst 21. jan. 2015 kl. 9:18
invisible wall under the funnel? wow. that's cheating. it's not even that necessary --
wildgoosespeeder 26. dec. 2014 kl. 1:23
First part was a really interesting sacrifice the cube puzzle. The second puzzle remind me of YUKI_67's maps. I instantly knew what to generally do to get that needed reset the portal gun with a fizzler (or have only one portal out) state. Good stuff!
YUKI_67 21. nov. 2014 kl. 8:25
Fantastic puzzle !
(Favori +1) ^^
The Sojourner 20. nov. 2014 kl. 21:07
Incredible, as usual. It's times like this I wish the portal gun could also close portals at will, but then where would the puzzle be? Art-wise, can't beat the classics :p2cube:

Keep up the good work!

Excellent chamber. I had a look at your video and I solved everything as you intended. Thumbs up.

Would you mind trying this chamber? It's a challange.

Absolutely amazing! So satisfying to complete. Im also suprised Ive never seen anyone using that property of portals in the end. It was totally awesome moment when you go "And solved! No, wait, what? So I cant..? So you want me to.. OOOOooohhh!"
OPTIONS 23. okt. 2014 kl. 7:31
Personally not a fan of this one. Mostly because I'd test a theory on myself with the launcher, and ending up in a different place than if I were to launch the cube. While they both do cause you to think differently than you normally would in a poral puzzle, I didn't particularly enjoy it.
racknae 22. okt. 2014 kl. 21:31
I've never seen a fizzler used like that before. Kudos to you for coming up with something so clever.

I also really liked the use of faith plates in both tests. You never fail to impress me.
