Much love to my most used block. You will never be forgotten! (Because I'll be using the vanilla one a ton.)
stedo 13. juni 2022 kl. 7:05
Thank you and farewell old friend.

Was a good mod. One of the best.

Thank you as always Digi.
Ao Yuki 5. juni 2022 kl. 2:45
you've served us well. thank you Small Advanced Rotor mod, i will forever remember you as something originally not vanilla
C4PTRAMPAGE 29. maj 2022 kl. 6:52
vanilla small rotor be like:

"I am the more advanced model, It's time for you... to retire."

Farewell friend!
GadenKerensky 13. maj 2022 kl. 5:09
@MARHWIN Fair enough.
lorddoug1 4. maj 2022 kl. 16:28
farewell to one of the best mods.
Zenric 2. maj 2022 kl. 18:54
we had some amazing times, and some horrible times. farewell friend.
MARHWIN 1. maj 2022 kl. 5:11
@GadenKerensky Nah, vanilla one has wider movement in Z axis, and has no gaping hole when detached. Good mod but the time has come for it.
GadenKerensky 29. apr. 2022 kl. 8:42
I wonder if this is somehow better than the new vanilla one.
Erikan39 28. apr. 2022 kl. 13:54
Yeye, thanks digi :3
Shado 28. apr. 2022 kl. 10:27
They finally did it, thank you Digi for all the years for this amazing mod.

@hunterdigi
Sbc edit rotor i made have only issue that the rotor head spawn at stator block space (vanilla) as there is no property for head to spawn in offset. Only property i found is max offset of rotor head in stator block. I can change "extend offset" of head even 1KM but it will always spawn at stator block.
This sbc edit rotor is fully mergeable as gif shows.
Perfect for doors that use merge block as lock. No need to use piston rotor combo.
I use merge block as SE have microshake bug on Piston/Rotor/Wheel subgrids.
Merged doors eat 0% CPU
Vanilla Rotor doors without lock move at 0.00158m/s == microshake == Eat CPU.
I seen dual head rotors and many tweaked ones so i ask..
Cheers

Ah there's a gif there, it didn't load when I opened the page, prob because it's serveral megabytes =) gif is outdated so try to avoid that, modern browsers can play video like webm, mp4, etc, not sure what steam allows but that's not really important when there's imgur.com and such :P

I see what you mean with the displacement now, and the solution isn't just an elongated top as it will poke the other side when "retracted".
I don't think I'll work on this more to be fair xD Since you know how to mod sbc you could make a mod with the displacement edits on the vanilla non-conveyors rotors.
I also feel keen did this on purpose to prevent merging when looking at the 2-tall rotor, the grid systems (electricity, conveyor, etc) being connected with rotors are probably not expecting both the body and the top to be the same grid, so keep an eye out for weird issues =)
It could also self-spin from the constraint trying to push/pull on itself.
Rusted Droid 18. feb. 2022 kl. 0:48
@hunterdigi
I did try to use Piston base 3D mesh (1x1x1.8) as stator (1.80 block space) but Collision mesh is way too big to fit rotor part 0.30 block space. Piston base as stator spawn but unable to place rotor part. Using rotor attach script only result in explosion.
Rusted Droid 18. feb. 2022 kl. 0:41
@hunterdigi
Yes Gif i posted show that. I have that as (sbc edit) mod only lack propper 3D mesh for bigger stator (whole block space) and rotor part (also whole block space) so the (gap) is not visible.
I do not see in workshop 1x1x2 rotor that is mergeable.
Keen want to have single block rotor but that is not good with the way how game handle block space.
Digi  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2022 kl. 17:30
You mean to merge the top with the bottom grid? It can't work because the top would end up in the same cell as the rotor body, and also the rotor body is 2 cells tall so it simply does not allow the 2 grids to merge.
For huge sealable doors you need another rotor/piston/hinge inbetween and placed in a way that they don't physically interfere.
Rusted Droid 17. feb. 2022 kl. 14:17
Can your rotor block be used with Merge block?
I have simple mod but lack propper 3D mesh...
Maybe idea for new block mod?

Digi  [ophavsmand] 26. jan. 2022 kl. 6:21
A mod can do that aswell by overriding Size of physical items (< 0.25 on all axis), but that would make large conveyors on smallgrid obsolete and also pretty awkward with blocks that have large ports.
You can do this mod yourself if you really want to, but I imagine there's one on workshop too, maybe even a script one that can do it on modded items too automatically.
HotChocolateKid 25. jan. 2022 kl. 22:23
ohhh, thats a problem i guess. i wonder if theres a mod that enables that, like lets you put bigger things through small conveyor pipes. because that would be extremely useful.
Digi  [ophavsmand] 23. jan. 2022 kl. 15:06
There are slim welders/grinders mods out there, it still needs large ports otherwise you can't even do steel plates as those don't fit in small conveyors.
HotChocolateKid 23. jan. 2022 kl. 13:42
please make a small version of a grinder and welder
Jack Schitt 23. nov. 2021 kl. 9:26
Settings for the rotors don't work. I posted in discussions.
Emperors_Nightmare 18. sep. 2021 kl. 12:02
can you coded so thed it will work on xbox too? add uploaded it then Here too:https://spaceengineers.mod.io/ pls
PanicOregon281 26. aug. 2021 kl. 10:49
You are my savior right now, i can now properly add a crane drill to my rover.
gordon_schumway 15. aug. 2021 kl. 9:52
The block appeared when I add it to the game :-) Sorry.
Digi  [ophavsmand] 15. aug. 2021 kl. 9:43
Did you try search? The game has some bugs with blocks not showing up in All Blocks.
gordon_schumway 15. aug. 2021 kl. 8:42
Strange, I can't see the block ingame.
Fokey 5. dec. 2020 kl. 10:21
mod done thy for help, credited you in descriptiion, thy
have fun https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2309905694
Fokey 5. dec. 2020 kl. 9:58
dude, thy for the help, after intense troubbleshooting and nearly going insane, i was able to finish my mod, it adds an extra advanced rotor that can extend up to 100m without messing with the original rotors, yay first going to be published mod of mine ! (i basically made a ship cutter rifle before but never wanted to upload)
Fokey 5. dec. 2020 kl. 8:49
well i made it that se crashes horrifyingly, guess that is halfway done
Digi  [ophavsmand] 4. dec. 2020 kl. 22:49
@Fokey
Sounds possible and you can do it too :P
Just copy the <SE>/Content/Data/CubeBlocks/CubeBlocks_Mechanical.sbc to %appdata%/SpaceEngineers/Mods/<YourMod>/Data/ and then edit it there, remove other blocks you don't want to edit. Change the SubtypeId and BlockPairName to make it a new block and you're pretty much done. Change DisplayName too to find it easier.
If you need more help just ask in SE's (keen software house) discord at #modding-art-sbc :P
Fokey 4. dec. 2020 kl. 17:08
hey could you do me a favor ? i just got an idea and need someone who can edit some values, can you make a copy and paste version of the regular rotor (with renaming that the regular rotors don't get affected) that has a way extended limit to how faar outwards you can moove the rotor head ? so you could basically could have levitating grids around your main grid like this buged ship https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=897628879) PLEASE tell me if it is possible
Digi  [ophavsmand] 2. okt. 2020 kl. 13:41
In PhysicalItems the Size tag determines if it can fit, if all axes are < 0.25 then it can pass through small conveyor. There's one exception, physicalgunobject and higher (rifles and tools probably) are hardcoded to never be allowed through small conveyors.

My build info mod adds a little asterisk and tooltip to those items if you wanna be able to tell ingame.
Cmdr. DoomForge™ 2. okt. 2020 kl. 10:17
By the way, how does someone go about setting the small conveyors to allow any size component to fit through it? With the changed file structures where many of the blocks have been split into categorized files its harder to confirm where that is done at.
Cmdr. DoomForge™ 2. okt. 2020 kl. 9:50
Would be nice if Keen had/would have done this for vanilla blocks rather than continuing to neglect the true small conveyors for small grid. Thanks for doing this.
Snotrocket555 14. sep. 2020 kl. 19:51
I discovered that after I posted the comment. Felt a bit dumb. Thank you for the reply
Digi  [ophavsmand] 14. sep. 2020 kl. 16:14
As description says, it's for smallgrid.
Mods in SE need to be added to the world for them to work.
Subscribing doesn't enable mods, it only makes it easier to add them to worlds.
Snotrocket555 13. sep. 2020 kl. 16:41
how exactly do you place this? Since I subscribed the game allows me to place a large advanced rotor on a small grid. Is this correct?

Thanks for filling this need Digi!
the gobbler 29. aug. 2020 kl. 5:45
I needed this for a long time, don't know why I founded it now instead of 3 months ago but thanks for making this.
Soapy Potato 24. juni 2020 kl. 6:16
still couldnt find it sadly, but (lol) this really cool mod i know by this cool guy i talked to once allowed me to fix it regardless.... Advanced Welding mod ftw!
Digi  [ophavsmand] 23. juni 2020 kl. 21:43
This mod's rotor top is already public tho, you should be able to find it in g-menu by search if it doesn't show up directly (because I dunno, some blocks just don't show up in all blocks since a few majors ago)
Soapy Potato 23. juni 2020 kl. 11:37
youre my hero man, everything you make is like a must have for QOL in space engineers lol. Really appreciate your work... that being said this small advanced rotor is awesome and works perfectly as it is, but may i request a "1x1x1 advanced rotor part". I know youre thinking just "add rotor head" but there are situations like on splitsies "liftie" where you place two rotors in same direction then add the head for a smaller overall build. Instead of needing 5 blocks of space you can do it in 3 and the rotors are easier to adjust because they are facing the same way type deal. Just a small idea that would help me complete a rover miner build where im having to sort the ore to the back of the rover to allow the pistons to extend the drills out without tipping over due to front heavy weight problems lol. Thanks again mate :D
Digi  [ophavsmand] 13. jan. 2020 kl. 1:08
ZarHakkar 12. jan. 2020 kl. 19:35
Might I request a small ship 3x3 piston mod?
Victoria, Angel of the void 12. jan. 2020 kl. 13:06
@Blitz AceRosin

Keen is too busy making DLC content to make useful things like this.
Blitz ÂceRosin 4. jan. 2020 kl. 18:49
Stuff like this should be vanilla but isn't for some reason.
robotfly 17. nov. 2019 kl. 18:20
thank you so much for this
