Solved, but not sure as intended. Laser through the very edge of the portal allows laser up from the floor into cube.

i have a feeling that this was made with hammer and BEEMOD... was it?
AlosTalos 27. mar. 2019 kl. 22:44
Love the beginning :D
Paxtonnnn 6. dec. 2017 kl. 15:55
I fell back into the pit at the end because I was curious. End my suffering.

...

Amazing map though.

Good one, nice and not too easy. Thanks.
IridiumWave 20. aug. 2014 kl. 17:42

Petutski 16. maj 2014 kl. 15:12
Great totorial!
Broskii 14. apr. 2014 kl. 9:01
i have played a few chambers with the reflection gel and i must say the other ones have just one need for it while this one is all about it. overall, i love this test. Love Bishfudge
danne11man 27. mar. 2014 kl. 6:44
Good map well made i give u that, but still a bit easy
Unowninator 3. sep. 2013 kl. 13:43
I wish the gel could reflect lightbridges too.Maybe someone could make it happen with the hammer or something...
siem3141  [ophavsmand] 3. apr. 2013 kl. 3:10
If you use PeTI, then you have to export it to hammer. In hammer, you can make a env_paint_sprayer (or something like that) for a continuous gel flow or a prop_paint_bomb like I used in this map. Now, change the gel type variable to "stick" and that will do. Good luck ;)
protoborg 2. apr. 2013 kl. 9:11
I want to add the gel to my map but I have no idea how. Could you help me out?
Spooky 11. mar. 2013 kl. 8:25
good map - I like the final puzzle and the 'joke' elements at the start and end (I like doing them too, plz check out my chambers 'Hey Tony' and 'Quick Flick Trick' if you fancy similar stuff :) let's keep doing good science
LPChip 5. jan. 2013 kl. 3:28
Great map. Good variety in puzzles, yet nothing so over complicatedly hard. Big thumbs up! :)

The gel is weird!

Took a wrong turn and had to do the damn thing all over .

This gel is most interesting.

Turrets highly explosive. Handle with care
BlitzProg 21. sep. 2012 kl. 9:39
If you use the cube under the reflection gel the gel will stop falling, and if you're skilled at this you can even get the gel blob to not explode while hitting the ground smoothly enough, it will not splash until you hit it and you can move it around with the cube.

Awesome map here, keep it up!
Thanks for this map, I enjoyed it very much!
Want to try out the hardest map in the worshop?
For all of those who were waiting for my newest map (and for all of those who are new to my maps),here's a link to my newest map called "Cubelessness 2":
http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=89526264
- Testing: Fizzlers/Cubes/Buttons/Funnels and their applications in the field of science.
- Difficulty: Hard-Very Hard
- Estimated time to complete: between 5 minutes and 1 hour.
If you know the first part of this map ("Cubelessness": http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=78146075) then you will find this second part even better, it is harder and more elegant, with no fancy tricks or unconventional methods here.
Thanks again
Quarks123 2. aug. 2012 kl. 7:34
nice invention ^^
siem3141  [ophavsmand] 28. juli 2012 kl. 9:28
thank you all for your comments and feedback! :D I will keep those things in mind for potential new maps, I'm not the best at thinking out puzzling things, I need more experience I guess, and for the gel itself, I can't change the particle effects and colours
HMW 26. juli 2012 kl. 7:51
Nicly done!

The lighting could have been better though, especially in the last room.
And I found the bounce-timing puzzle in the last room annoying to get right, and not really necessary. I think it would be better if you had made a second (simple) laser redirection puzzle to get the lens cube, and some other small, more puzzle-like task to get the ball.

On a positive note: you did a good job introducing the reflection gel with some simple, straightforward puzzles, and the last 'actual' puzzle (except for that jump + catch thing) was well made and fun to play.
mikemoody 23. juli 2012 kl. 18:39
@carl.kenner: Thanks for the advice, it worked for me too. I would like to know if there is another way tho. GREAT map siem3141.
MachManX 20. juli 2012 kl. 21:27
Now this is a well-balanced map. Keeps the player interested without over-frustration or boring him/her. Well Done!
carl.kenner 18. juli 2012 kl. 23:40
You could also make it look less like conversion gel when on a surface (but only because the level doesn't contain conversion gel too).
carl.kenner 18. juli 2012 kl. 23:38
This is good, but you should try to fix the particles, which are the colour of Adhesion Gel; the blobs, which are missing the texture; the colour when the gel gets on you, which is the colour of Propulsion Gel; and the colour when the gel gets on other props (like the door) which is also the colour of Propulsion Gel. Fixes are available for those things, but I think the last 2 problems require a level to be restarted after the fix.
carl.kenner 18. juli 2012 kl. 23:28
I think I did the final puzzle a cheating way. I put a portal to the side of the laser panel, put a portal on the ground near the laser catcher, and balanced the reflection cube on the edge of the portal, using only one reflection.
Dalhana 16. juli 2012 kl. 14:47
great map
Craggle 14. juli 2012 kl. 13:41
Great concept, well introduced and implemented, and building to a nice, not overly taxing, puzzle for the final part.
CLockWreck 11. juli 2012 kl. 14:40
Well done. you should be proud.
Ravenmorke 9. juli 2012 kl. 19:52
Really a nice concept! ;)

Here's my map: http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=77292983
Slim Phillip 9. juli 2012 kl. 7:17
Very good level!!!
Scout_Teisatsu 7. juli 2012 kl. 14:51
like the reflection Idea, good to see people making more gels out there
siem3141  [ophavsmand] 5. juli 2012 kl. 11:20
Also, I'm gonna take a vacation for several weeks, so no maps then

zcoop98 4. juli 2012 kl. 20:54
There's a small bug at the end, but other than that, great map!!! Very nice intro of a new concept. You may have already heard this, but the bug at the end happens when you go too close to the edge of the pit by the exit door. The pit springs closed, then open again, the side door closes, and the exit doors shuts as well.... Only way to get through is to either go the long way back around, or activate the doors closing and opening again, and jumping through the exit door when it opens for that brief second... But good concept map!!! :D
siem3141  [ophavsmand] 4. juli 2012 kl. 19:06
I think I'm gonna release my next map at thursday or friday :D
siem3141  [ophavsmand] 2. juli 2012 kl. 14:10
that's an awesome idea baggy :D and I'm already working on a new map with a dilemma in it xD
Baggy 2. juli 2012 kl. 7:15
I gave this a thumbs up it was very enjoyable. Nice idea to expand upon too, like using a reflection surface more than once or incorporating a reflective moving platform into a future puzzle for example. Well done

siem3141  [ophavsmand] 1. juli 2012 kl. 14:37
@Orion76, Blame valve for that :P
Narotiza 30. juni 2012 kl. 22:18
White blobs, purple splash, silver gel, and it turns my screen orange when it hits me. :P
StIg 30. juni 2012 kl. 6:48
Very nice idea, but spoilt slightly by execution. Firstly, chambers were much too dark. It doesn't create atmosphere just by not allowing the player to see properly. And when I'd finished it, I fell through the floor at the end and had to do it all over again. That was a pointless trick. But I can see where that gel might create loads of new possibilities...
Ciirulean 29. juni 2012 kl. 16:02
If Portal 2 was made with Hammer World Editor you should be able to toggle the affects of the Reflection (Adhesion) Gel.
siem3141  [ophavsmand] 29. juni 2012 kl. 3:01
You know the paint sprayer entity? set paint type to stick.
Mad Elf 28. juni 2012 kl. 14:45
I was just thinking "I could really use some mirrors for puzzles"... that and glue. And it's already in Hammer... will need to look closer (unless you want to give a hint?)
1980 28. juni 2012 kl. 5:39
a great new concept of map. thumb up from me :)
siem3141  [ophavsmand] 28. juni 2012 kl. 5:35
Well, I didn't make the gel myself, it's already in hammer. So I guess I cannot change anything
