There is a mod editor for Kenshi, don't edit files manually. It's been years so my memory is vague (and the game is not installed anymore). You can launch it from steam, although I don't remember exactly how (google will likely help). Then load the mod and use the option to see only what is changed compared to vanilla so you access to "mod" data only. Change whatever need translation, save and voila ! Once you're sure it works you can upload it to the workshop through the editor.
There was a traduction thingie option but I never tested it, so I don't even know if it works for mod.

I would rly like to translate this mod into german, so it does not create a new building category and does not change the language of the text for the iron ore drill + description as well...
But have no clue how to do that exactly. Just changing some words here and there in the .mod file doesn't work :(

Sorry for late answer I was away for RL stuff. If it's a polite post unlike the other guy, I have no issue. I can't do the translations myself, the only languages I speak have been translated already.

IIRC there is also another Russian copper drill mod the guy made from scratch (IE he said he didn't know my mod existed). I can't tell if it's up to date, or anything.

my dudes won't automatically take the copper from an ore drill III, should I just rebuild it from scratch?

From memory, all bases have a range. If you build outside of it, it's not part of the base power grid. Either build closer or make power near the drill.

Ore drill 3 doesn't take power even though I have enough power. How to fix this?

It's added to the vanilla iron ore drill. It's not a separate research. It's start at lvl 3 I think (haven't played in a while and that's what the editor tell me).
If you unlocked the vanilla iron drill, you unlocked those to if you have the mod. Same for the upgrades.

what level research bench required to see it? never have i ever seen this with a lvl 3 research bench

It's a research, no BP needed. Same research as the iron drill equivalent.

Game crashes when I try to build one.

That's an issue with the core game, and can/will happen with pretty much anything. We simply don't have access to pathfinding in general for modding purposes.
To fix that kind of issues, you need to "rebuild the nav mesh" by using ctrl+shift+f11. Or (if it doesn't work for example), you do shift + f12 -> "FIX STUFF".

It should fix that kind of issue in general. If it doesn't, it might be because the terrain is especially rugged, and you might need to move the building a bit, or perhaps your orders are not set up properly.

It seems my people have troubles navigating to the Copper Ore Drill to perform the mining work. They act as if the drill is unreachable and are "Aimless"
But!
If I * manually * move my labourer next to the drill, and afterwards tell them to drill, they will perform the action.

Is there some functionality I am missing, or would it be possible to patch this?
