Genoa Freeport Sub IC&E V2.1b

Description
August 17th 2016

Added scenery Big Timber area, and Plato Center.

August 15th 2016

Scenery for Irene added and Big Timber (partial). Free Roam for Irene (Irene 2 starts there so you don't have to navigate-fly) is available which heads East to Elgin.

August 14th Information update

Check out Irene (by BasicBill on Youtube) will be next to be modelled in this route, getting closer to Rockford.

Just North West of Irene in Rockford, a little trivia.

Blackhawk Springs is there. Has anyone seen Blackhawk Down and know the code name for 'Mission GO' in the Ridley Scott movie?

Also Amtrak will be heading to Rockford resuming its Blackhawk service. It is suffering a delay presently.

Updated 11th August 2016

More scenery added Elgin, Colvin Park and Kingston

Scenery added at Elgin and Burlington. And on the CN south east of Genoa.

Freeroam scenarios to explore from Elgin and South Elgin on the CPR and CN routes respectively.

Updated 9th August 2016

Yes I finally decided to work on this route. Matt did say it looked abandoned as there was no work in progress for quite some time. But we are back in business!

Added scenery in the Kirkland township, west of Genoa.

I will be adding more track and length soon, along with more scenery.

This is a real world prototypical route. ie Non Fiction. It is authentic to Illinois, USA, of the Genoa-Elgin-Rockford area and is a work in progress. As work progresses more scenery is added. Check back for updates frequently because it is being updated at least twice a week.

Update 31-08-2014

Scenery added between Genoa and Hampshire. Bridges and and scenery in Genoa and near Colvin Park.

Quick Drive and Free Roam in this update.

Genoa has more detail now. Hampshire too. Gradually as work progresses the route will be from Elgin to Rockford on the Canadian National Freeport Sub and separately (another track altogether!) the Canadian Pacific Railway IC&E (Iowa, Chicago and Eastern Railroad formerly and known as or may be known as CPR's Chicago sub).

Signals now work! You should be able to make a Standard Scenario with an AI train or more.

It will be about 50-60 miles of track on each railroad. The Chicago Sub (CPR) will go North from Davis Junction to Rockford. I have plans for this route which go beyond this scope and can be read at Railworks America in Route Design Forum.

Stations on CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway):

(From Elgin direction)

Elgin

Genoa

(The next loop is at Davis Junction (heading towards Savanna or turning North at Davis Jct will take you to Rockford) but is not yet built in this release). I will arrange a map soon of the route.

Stations on CNR (Canadian National Railway):

(From Rockford direction)

Colvin Park

Burlington

(Track runs into Elgin but no station yet)

28-08-14

Quick Drive now on the Freeport Sub CN!

Signals and loops added. Burlington to Colvin Park on the Freeport Sub of Canadian National Railway.

26-08-14

New Version of the Freeport Sub and IC&E.

Quick Drive only in the IC&E (Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd) at present between Kingston and Hampshire through Genoa

Freeport sub coming soon.

On DLC: (Downloadable Content)

I have used the track and buildings out of the Norfolk Southern Coal route. NEC route required but I think will work fine without it. I'm keeping scenery to the Norfolk Southern Coal route.

Addons Required: Official Route DLC: Northeast Corridor

Other Packs: Classic American Assets, Norfolk Southern Coal

This route is based in Genoa, Illinios, USA. It is about 50 miles West of Chicago.

There are two sets of tracks, the CP and the CN.

Both will be usable, but right now you can do quickdrive on the CPRS between Hampshire and Kingston. There is a flyover of the CN Freeport sub at Genoa which in future will be usable.

Tracks are laid as far as Eglin and Hampshire on the IC&E and also Eglin for the CN Freeport Sub.

Route Information

Now there are actually three different tracks in this route!

First the Canadian Pacific Railway:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa,_Chicago_and_Eastern_Railroad

Historically from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakota,_Minnesota_and_Eastern_Railroad

Second, the Canadian National Railway:

The third is at Elgin which I haven't worked out yet who is the owner! It runs North just West of Eglin after running alongside the CP line for a bit.

And hopefully you will be able to run Metras up to Big Timber from Chicago. That is when it is complete.

But the main aim is to run 12000ft freight trains at 40 MPH along the track. 55MPH-60MPH on the Freeport sub, owned by Canadian National Railway.

New version here: http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=748072134
Please try it out it is near completion. I need some feedback if it is working properly. Even if you don't have the Chicago Aurora Sub Racetrack DLC you can still use it. Let me know how it goes.

As far as I am concerned you can do what you like. If you don't alter it too much you can even post a link to this page from where you got it. Happy Route Building, enjoy! Remember you'll need the payware routes in order to see objects. Such as Norfolk Southern Coal and others. If you want, you can add tracks and objects to something I have not touched, and then with cooperation I can also add stuff to it. Upload it each time you work on it. You know what I mean? So we add to it rather than change it. But if you just want to change it go ahead. I think the parts I have is polished. You may know better than me as you live there. Maybe you can do a short patch and 'show me' what looks the most real there. I haven't spent a lot of time in Illinois or Chicago but want to visit one day.

Okay I was asking because Matt Peddelsden played this route on his stream and It looked really great. One question though, would you be made if I recreated this and published it?

Any plans on updating this route? I live really close to it and would love to see this built. I am also working on a route that goes from West Chicago up to Belvidere to the Auto Facility up there. Would love see a new version of this. ~ StevenJam

Let me see if I understand, ANZAC/AAPG. There are 6 versions of this route. I think this one v1.7 should be the latest. I am not yet subscribed. Should I download one by one of the 6 or just this v1.7?
Other than tthat, for what I have read and seen, I only can say you to keep working on it. I am sure I will like this route very much with BNSF and CN running over their tracks

Maybe I haven't added spawn points yet for the Rockford sub. Still lots of work to do. I haven't touched this route for a while. thanks for the comments.

This route is partially the reason why im buying all the DLCs to run it. I live across the street from this route in genoa and its very exciting to see that some one put this in the workshop. Any hopes on the CN Rockford Sub?

Thanks for the comments. Please use capitals when making a sentence or your comment will be deleted. If you can't be bothered in making the effort, neither can I with bothering to help you.

WORTH SUBSCRIBING

I'm very picky about what I'll add to my train sim and immediately discard anything that doesn't measure up to my quality standards. While this still needs a little work here and there, it is a worthy effort and will remain on my hard drive. I look forward to seeing future versions.
