Subverse is a bold, ambitious blend: it delivers high-end adult animation wrapped in a modest but enjoyable gameplay core. If you're drawn to its stylistic spin on space‑opera erotica and can overlook rough patches in writing or mechanics, it can be a uniquely entertaining ride. But if storyline depth and polished design matter more than explicit novelty, it might feel a bit one-note.

As a professional gooner, I have to give this game a 6.5/10. The animations in the scenes are great but shallow gameplay leads to an uninteresting experience. I recommend it if only to appreciate the superb animation.

I finally got around to finishing the main story; at least some of us did... I really appreciated the mostly full game of cutscenes, followed by the pictures with words over them. Almost feels... rushed. Then I played the "FOW-CHAN" quest. Really appreciated the joke about not having enough time to render and write cutscenes. Really hit the spot after seeing the lack of trying after the last 80% of the story.

Even the boss fights of the story felt rushed and incomplete. How do I know? The "we don’t know how to balance a game, so instead of figuring it out, where just going to implement a skip function" gave it away. Lazy. You should really learn how to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ balance a game before you release it to people other then your supporters. And releasing this mess to your supporters is on another level.

The rendering is great...until you put "clothes" on, er, should I say paint the clothes on. For a group of people who brag about the tit physics in a werewolves video (probably my favorite video before this...), I expect better. A lot better.

I'm going to review this game later, and don't worry, I'm not going to give it a 1 out of 5. I'm not giving it a 5 out of 5 either. Probably a 3.5 out of 5.

But, to the developers: either fix you game (story cutscenes, balanceing, and clothes that don't look like they belong on the N64), or get your asses back to your Fow-Chan website and make videos again. The last time I played something this unbalanced, Ubisoft was a title screen.

Oh, this is the review I'm posting. I was an early adopter, but what was started and what was finished are two separate things, by what feels like two separate groups. One that had a glint of hope in their eye, and one that wanted it to end.

This drips of having a dream, and ending with a cash grab.
