Since the game’s launch, Monster Train 2 has reached 500,000 players! When Shiny Shoe set out to make Monster Train years and years ago, no one thought that it would take off the way the game did, let alone that the team would one day be able to launch this sequel.

To celebrate this milestone, we’re so proud to announce our content roadmap outlining the future of Monster Train 2! Keep reading for more details on the upcoming major updates and DLC.

The clans of Hell have unearthed never-before-seen treasures, all of which will be available in Q3 2025. In the first of the three free Monster Train content updates, you’ll get to enjoy plenty of new content such as…

1. New cards across all the clans

2. New clanless equipment and room cards

3. Rebalanced some legacy cards for MT2 gameplay

New threats will emerge from the Void and, with them, pose a terrifying challenge to the clans of Hell. In the second of Monster Train 2’s free updates, dive back into the world of Monster Train 2 and explore…

1. Brand new bosses to defeat

2. Fresh challenges and mutators that will have you changing up your play style

3. New artifacts with new strategic possibilities

4. New cosmetics to outfit your train to your own style

And much more! We’ll have more to share on this update in the future, but just like Lost Arsenal you can expect this update to be fully free.

Last but not least, our Q1 2026 update will be so enormous that it’s set to feature both a free content drop as well as a massive game-changing DLC expansion!  The free update will center around a special surprise that has been in high-demand since Monster Train 2’s launch, while the paid expansion will boast:

1. A whole new game mode to sink dozens of hours into

2. An all-new clan

3. And more!

And of course, every update will include bug fixes, balance changes, and translation improvements we’ve made thanks to your reports and feedback!
