Borderlands GOTY Enhanced

This "Remastered" Borderlands is an improvement to the original in pretty much every way except for removing the LAN option and raising the pricetag.
I do recommend it, but I would grab it at a sale as removing the original dirt cheap BL1 and forcing you to buy an "Enchanced" version that doesnt really provide much over the original (comparing when on sale).

Apart from some nice quality of life improvements, most of the original glitches are still in-game.
Most likely to keep the game fun focusing on making the game look better.
I remember when I thought BL 1 looked terrible when trying it after years away from it right after playing BL 2.
Now it does not feel that way at all.

The only thing that really disappoints me is that they did not do more positive changes.
Like fast travel in the dlcs so you could farm Crawmerax etc. without hundereds of pieces of loot spread everywhere or resetting and have to go the whole way there again.
It is a missed opertunity for sure, but other than that I can only say that I fully recommend the game.
Note thought that I have barely played MP and have heard that there have been big problems in the past.

And thanks for providing this upgrade free of charge to owners of the Original.

Borderlands 3

I have just under 2 hours of gameplay and would be neutral if the option was there.
Since I chose to refund it, I chose to not recommend it.

First thing to notice is that the game doesnt really feel like the other BL games.
The graphics is familiar but the overall visuals are refined and unfamiliar.
The loot and drops look very different and the handling of the character and weapons are amazing.
While that is enjoyable, it also makes the game take a turn towards most other modern shooters.
Being able to "climb-jump", slide and having what in my opinion feels like a much easier time aiming removes some of the BL series core feel.

As others have said the story and characters feel really bad.
Before playing I thought it was exaggerated, but it indeed felt off more than expected.
To be fair though I have played for a really short time so it doesnt feel like a fair assessment at this point.
My main problem wasnt that the game felt more modernized and has strayed away from its predecessors in a new direction.
No my issues were the cutscenes and stuttering.
While being playable, the start up of the game was long and having cinematical scenes that just are laggy and then being thrown in to the actual game to immediatley feel that the game isnt comfortable for the eyes with the small lags here and there when turning etc.
It becomes increasingly annoying and my main concern is that this is the early game and I am having a trivial experience with the enemies but struggle with the overall game performance.
How will I enjoy this when I have to actually strategize and face a lot of enemies and a lot more performance demanding settings?

After realizing the 2 hours were almost upon me I quit the game and thought about it.
Even with the discount of the Summersale I could not justify buying the "Super Deluxe Edition".
Being unsure about the performance and not knowing if I would like the game better later on I'd rather wait and refund it for now till it gets much cheaper.
It just did not feel fun and apart from the performance the I cant justify if I would enjoy it.
2 hours just arent enough get in to all the changes and my overall experience felt pretty dull at the end.

I really was in the mood for BL after playing through the BL 1 Enhanced recently.
Sadly this didnt keep me engaged so I will maybe get it some later time in the future.
Hopefully it will be more refined by then and worth the risk price-wise to play through the game if it ends up being even worse performance-wise.

Streets of Rogue
I have played 2 roguelites before this one I think.
I really loved "Enter the Gungeon" (EtG) but struggled to feel the same towards "The Binding of Isaac" (TBOI).
Both are generally considered hard by some. The general difference while still being similar in many aspect is why they are difficult, I dislike when RNG rather than skill is needed.
This is why I love EtG as you can beat the general game everytime with starting guns. You might get OP runs in both respected games, but for TBOI having good skill is often not enough without RNG.
What is the point of restarting till you get something good rather then let the game throw curveballs that stimulate your knowledge of the game without being unfair?

This is why I love "Streets of Rogue" (SoR). The difficulty aspect is completely dependent on you.
Sure, this means that it lacks a higher natural difficulty curve and might feel less rewarding, but "too hard" is not a problem with this game.
Depending on what class you play you will have to adapt your way to play.
Some feel easier while others are frustrating.
You can even make custom characters and still make progress if you balance them out.
Typically you can make them OP or underwhelming to stimulate difficulty.
Of course you could just for fun exceed the values if you don't feel to make progress.
Point being that with all cutomization options available you can greatly tailor your experience to what you feel is a difficulty enjoyable to you.

The progress system.
M-missions and character level ups reward you with Chicken Nuggets.
You accumulate them and can use them at the homebase after the run/s for unlocking more "traits" and "rewards".
You can also use them to buy items to temporarily start with on the next run.
When you unlock more traits/rewards the game scales this to how much you must have in the pool as a minimum.
The cool thing is that you can edit out which traits and rewards you dont want to show up, to better suit them for your playstyle.
For instance you probably don't want firearm boosting traits if your character can't use guns.
These settigns can be save and loaded at the base when you want to change them between what characters you use.
After beating all floors of an area with 5 different characters you unlock the option to start there by going to the elevator at the homebase.

There are also achievements for completing various misc. things aswell as completing the story in certain ways.
You will also unlock several characters. The unlock conditions are stated on the character selection screen.
I would have liked more achievements to be presents specifically for completing the big quests and story with each of the vanilla characters.
This is also a good way to keep more players engaged and increases replayability for some.
I might have unlocked all traits, most rewards and achievments after less than 30 hours, but that doesn´t prevent me from seeing myself continuing to play the game.

The Core Gameplay
You start by selecting a class/character. Each vanilla character has their own "big-quests" they need to do on every floor and comes with their own traits and abilities.
As an example you might play as a police officer or a thief. One of them can arrest people and the other one can steal from people (abilities).
To beat their quests you will have to arrest enough guilty people as the police officer and steal enough from safes/chests as the thief (big-quests).
Apart from this their traits give the characters positive and negative artributes which typically feels logical to the nature of the character.
For instance the police officer is alligned with other officers and loses xp when arresting innocent peoples.
Most traits can be swapped or removed on floors for money. Most mechanics are trial and error, there are different vending machines etc.
Apart from character specific quests there can be a number of different quests on each floor. By doing quests and killing/saving people you get xp and level up.
Upon finishing the floor you get to chose to improve traits or add new ones essentially making you stronger for the more upcoming difficult floors.
You don't need to succeed with your missions, but either have to complete them or fail them.
After that you progress to the next floor and the next till you beat the levels of the floor and enter an new area.
Eventually after several areas you beat the game.
While the traits, loot etc. on the floors can determine if you succeed to some degree, i never felt that RNG unfairly ended or made me OP during a run.
Another mechanic of the game is that disasters may appear upon entering a new floor.
This can be really deadly with radiation, ooze spreading or make everyone be affected by random status-effects every couple of seconds etc.

Replayability
I initially after 10 hours of gameplay struggled to see the 100's of hours of replayability some talked about.
Fairly quickly the main game was beaten and while things are randomly generated and runs will vary some, the end goal was done.
There are many character to try and do the same with but it doesn't feel that exiting.
As an achievement hunter I could see the misc. things as something to work towards and unlock more characters.
What would have been great in my opinion (apart from my earlier suggestions) would have been to add achievements for unlocking traits and rewards.
Something to keep more players engaged.
The thing which really changed my perspective on replayability is how cleverly the Dev has taken advantage of the core-gameplay.
While the game mostly is the same it can greatly be affected by lots of things as mentioned before, but it goes even further.
You can use mutators. This can alter the game sooo much. From removing annoying "disasters" that can occur on floors to making everyone equipped with rocket launchers.

While the game is great for single player it gets much better with multiplayer. It has the option to be played both online or locally (unsure if mix match is possible between local and online).
It goes up to 4 players at the same time and you can revive eachother and kill eachother. It can create funny synergies or pit you against eachother depending on what character you decide to use.
I started playing the game Co-op and had lots of fun. I accidently missed to setup a password the first time and immediately had someone join me so I would assume there is a decent playerbase.
(btw sorry about leaving the game :/)

The Conclusion
With an active Dev and a recent dlc character pack being released, the game is for sure alive with updates to come.
While the core-gameplay can feel a bit dull at times, there can be frustrating moments and hilarious moments all the same.
The game is created in a good way that lets players of different skill levels enjoy it and with all the customability it can keep the replayability high.
I will still say that the multiplayer experience is far superior to playing it alone.

Apart from expanding achievmements and continuing to improve the core-gameplay (enemies, mission types, building types etc.) the game has few flaws when you have learned how it works.
Especially impressive is the ai and level of customization.
It has provided a more casual and creative roguelite-experience than EtG and TBOI and I highly recommend it.

Deiland
A casual game of patience on a little planet know as Deiland. The game is very linear at first and stays so pretty much later in the game. Some things can be tricky or unclear, but apart from that it is a trivial game. The graphic is beautiful and there are some things to do at all time, but ultimately it gets a bit tedious. Usually you get a quest and then maybe have to craft something and can immediately turn it in. Then you will have to wait for that character to appear again to further progress. Sometimes... actually a lot of times you might get stuck since another characters quest give you the means to fulfill that of another ones quest.

There is much to enjoy like planting, gardening, fishing and fighting monsters, atleast for a couple of hours, after that it gets frustrating when you hope that the correct npc will land so you can turn in the quest and progress. I took my time and decided to finish the game 100% after getting all of the achievements. The waiting is one issue, but for all the things to do it usually feels too limited. The enemies are few, the fish are only 2 after some progress instead of one to get from the pond . While there are a bunch of recipies for cooking and brewing potions, apart from quests they dont really add much to the experience and gameplay.
Speaking of 100%, I did finish all the quests but managed to get a glitch which prevented me from unlocking bucket level 2 (3 for most things is max), I am sure getting that upgrade and its next one would have been beneficial.

For the conclusion, it is a casual and very relaxing game, but if one wants any form of challenge and more engaging gameplay that feels rewarding I would not recommend it. While linear, some things would need tutorial for instance getting wool from sheep is not clear at all. The art and concept is interesting, but for 14,99€ there are far better and more enjoyable games out there. Deiland is by no means a bad game but it could benifit a lot from some improvements.

Arcade Moonlander
I do not know why people say its a hard game when it is so short and at most takes a few tries to beat even the most difficult levels.
It was free to grab on Steam and provided around 45min of entertainment, the rest was to get the landing achivements. I am unsure if I would ever buy a game like this. I feel like if more levels and mechanics are added, that could greatly alter the gameplay it could be great.
Gameplay itself is solid with mildly frustrating deaths and a simple straight forward task; to land your rocket.
I think the achievements should have included completing the levels and adventure mode instead of just crashing and landing. Some players will probably not even bother with beating the levels etc. if they just want the achievements.
*Edit:The Dev added achievements for beating the levels so that's very good.

Another issue is the constant stuttering, I am surprised how I beat all the levels as quickly as I did with this killing me sometimes.
The veridict is that I recommend it since its a short and enjoyable experience to beat the game. I will say though, that it feels like it could have been a free flash game so I would get it really cheap.

PAYDAY 2

The first shooter I have played where I can enjoy good music while I get serial-hugged by an army of cops. I also get ninja kicked, tazed and hugged to a corner with cosplay cops dressing up as EOD soldiers with heavy guns. When I try to take them out medics and medics who cosplay in EOD suits arrive to hug the cops that hug me aswell.
Its a wholesome experience only fully available at DS or DSOD difficulty and best done solo.
Recommended!

I got this game after beating everything in Enter the Gungeon looking forward to something similar.
Sadly while requiring skill The Binding of Isaac Rebirth also is very RNG dependant. Unlike in EtG, there are several instances where you simply cant win or avoid dmg, which in my opinion should be pretty much noexistant.
Not only is that an issue, as performance is really bad even on high end computers, its a hit or miss, where some dont have issues and others have them.

Items...
If you like checking what everything does all the time then you are gonna be fine. If not, then you will have a problem.
See, some items arent dropable and can alter how you play greatly. Ex: I had an awesome run with boomerang tears and was going through everything easily. I find an item I have not seen before and dont bother checking since it looks good. It changes my tears to lobing bombs which with boomerang modifier return back to me... My run is over...
While some are easy to remember most of the passives are hard to remember and you cant pause and check. Since the items look very odd and not very distinct in my opinion like in EtG they are more challenging to remember.

Hopefully the game will get on sale soon so I can write a complete and more detailed review since I aim to finish it.
I dont think it seems worth the price for the dlcs given the amount of content. I also hope that it can will improve performance though its doubtful since I have read about a bunch of issues. Also notable it that you need the DLCs to use Workshop Mods as the DLCs add a mod menu.

If you are looking for a difficult rogue-like game with replayability and no BS this might be the wrong one...
If you do not mind having runs or rooms ending without you being able to do anything about it then you will like it.

In this game 100h is like nothing.
There is so much to do and learn its going to be overwhelming for a time.
Having maxed all frames, all gear and almost all weapons currently in the game over the last 130ish days, it has been quite a journey.

The game is pretty grindy and repetitive and is not recommended to achievment hunters looking to 100% as it is impossible currently and for more years will be.
I have barley played it with friends but would highly recommend it as it would make everything a lot easier and quicker, it can be quite tiresome to do relics and wait for like 15 min just to get 3 more people.

The biggest issue about Warframe is the balance between the "Elitists" and the "too Casual". People expect to have others do the work for them and get everything for free and constantly complain about everything in the game.
Eventhough I find it strange how such a big amount of players can be so negative and ruin so much about Warframe it is in the current modern time one of the most positive communities I have met.

I have barely reported anyone over the 1000h I have played, the support from DE is excellent and a lot of players have been really nice and friendly. As you can expect there is a difference between PVP and a PVE game like Warframe. Sadly there are people trying to lecture, lashing out or being rude towards other players but atleast there arent the death-threats angry messages etc. that other toxic communities have.
It has some bugs, it has a negative elitism overshadowing the chats, scammers or people abusing the knowledge of the game.
Overall though its free and very fun to play alone or with friends
9/10 (will make a better review like my others in the future)

And DE
Please add a way to in game easily get statistics on items value especially rivens.
I see it way to often people getting tricked and practically giving away their rivens.
Even had some brag in the chat about how good deal they made buying 5 rivens 20p a piece from a player that were all worth a lot, only to keep talking about what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that player was for not knowing the value of the rivens and selling them that cheap.

Super Sanctum TD
I got this at a sale for 0,99€ or something which was well worth my money.
The game can easily be 100% done in less than 15 hours if you know what you are doing and are not unlucky with the "golden idol" achievement.

What made me interested of this game in the beginning was that it was a Sanctum spin-off. I had just finished Sanctum 2 (only 4p left) and found this when looking through other things by the publisher.
To start off a lot of enemies are familiar although there is an excess of them with reskins and stats changes. The retro inspired graphics is decent and the further you progress the more towers and perks you can have and chose from.
Perks are important as you from the start have to pay for every tower base, while with some perks you get it for free which can help a lot.

Another very important thing which is very true to Sanctum 2 aswell is that you have an important part to play yourself. On most stages towers will not be enough on their own and you will have to incorporate the use of skills to win.
Skills are like towers unlocked the further you progress.

At the start of the game it might quickly feel a bit difficult as you lack a lot of good things. You only have one skill, but can with time unlock so that you can chose up to 4 skills every stage at the same time, the same goes for towers. Perks are from what I recalled unlocked one extra point per new level you complete (14points in total?), which means that you will not be able to use all perks as you never will aford to invest in all perks at the same time (can be reset anytime).
Ironically there are still skills I have not unlocked despite progressing through the campaign more than 2 times and playing survival.
So as you can understand everything becomes a lot easier when you can use 4 different skills and towers at the same time and have the maximum amount of perks in use.
If there is a stage with flying enemies do not forget to bring the anti-air tower...

Difficulty wise I have no clue what some people say. There are a lot of viable strategies and I never had to find a guide or get advice on strats to beat a level. Once I finished the campaign with 3 stars on normal I played it through on hard and only swapped one tower "anti-air" when the stage had flying and beat the game with ease from the strat I had perfected.

To Conclude
  • Retro styled TD game
  • Sanctum series spin-off
  • Familiar enemies
  • Perk system
  • Unlockable skills
  • Unlockable towers
  • 4 slots maximum for towers and skills to be used at the same time
  • 15 levels each with endless mode for competitive leaderboard
  • Easy to learn
  • Many viable strats
  • Essential to combine good use of towers and skills
  • -RNG achievement "golden idol"
  • -Maze building is simple and mostly just placing the tower bases with no requirement to think at all
  • -Enemies are mostly just reskins
  • -Lackluster soundtrack
  • -Does lack something that truly sets it apart from other TDs

Super Sanctum TD is a TD game with some nice elements, but lacks enough difference to other TD games to make it special. I would give it a 6/10 and recommend getting it on a sale. It is perfect for achievement hunting and some casual TD, with nothing too difficult and few negatives. I also like that it has used many of the enemies and towers from the Sanctum series and replaced the FPS factor with skill usage to incorporate that towers alone will not be enough.

Gemini:Heroes Reborn
In this first person action-adventure game you take part as the female protagonist Cassandra, a 20 year old person discovering her forgotten past and progressing in the present to find out the truth.
Cassandra is not an ordinary human, but an Evo "Evolved Human" with super powers. As you progress you abilities expand and you can jump throught time (past and present 2 timelines), slow down time, catch bullets and rockets, use Tele-kenesis to throw and pick up objects, use concentrated burst of tk-blasts and scout between the two timelines. As this might suggest the concept is great and really enjoyable.
Sadly the execution is flawed. The action feels very limited and the game is like 20GB with pretty unimpressive graphics and slow loading screens, not to mention that the whole game can be completed in 3 hours. Voice acting is good, the story is ok, but maaan does the protagonist connect the dots at a disturbingly slow rate, making me feel a bit annoyed. You cannot skip dialogues and cutscenes which is also a bit of an annoyance.

There are 15 levels in total with "secrets" intel being collectable at every level except for 12. Sadly the 21 achievements were a bit bugged and added another 1,5 hours of basically frustration to my achievment hunting. Imagine 50 % of the total game time spent replaying to get bugged achievements, not fun at all.

To Conclude
  • Female super power protagonist
  • First person action-adventure
  • Very good concepts for gameplay with time based super powers and tele-kinesis
  • Good voice acting
  • Decent Story
  • Mysterious and exciting uncovering things
  • Combat is interesting and fun
  • 3+ hours of gameplay
  • 21 achievements
  • 15 levels
  • -Protagonist is slow at connecting the dots
  • -Protagonist is unrealistic as she is both very naive and has no problem killing of guards etc. without enough context.
  • -Combat and action felt limited, should have been more
  • -Very short, only about 3 hours
  • -Bugged achievements
  • -Unlogical unexplained "I had to do it" stereotype
  • -20GB space with slow loading speeds (badly compressed?)
  • -Non skippable dialogue and cutscenes
  • -Unsatisfying ending and lots of logical plotholes throughout the whole story

Gemini: Heroes Reborn is not a content rich and well executed game and lacks replayability. However the many bad things I have mentioned; the concept of the gameplay remains, it is still unique and a fun experience. I recommend getting it on a sale as it is very cheap and only then the short and mediocre gameplay can truly be justified. While it might have been difficult to develope and it could have had great ambitions in mind, it lacks execution, polishing and overall quality.
