Now this game get horror right. Simple controls, intricate story, creepy as hell enemies.
You never know how scary you look with that axe until your horrible evil twin come after you with it.

Terrible support for a video game. Tried to start the game black screen. Go to the forums, try EVERY solution, nothing works aside from uninstalling my antivirus software supposedly(yeah Im not doing that for ANY game). Dont support a developer that wont fix simple bugs and requires you to get rid of you antivirus. 0/10 wont be buying anymore from this developer.
Also I demand that if the Devs are going to shout from the rooftops that you can only fix the black screen problem by disabling your antivirus they have to put it on the front page like an early access game, because thats a major detail that needs to be known before buying.

Surpise hit for me. Honestly didnt think I would like it but it has mostly everything, tough gun fights, a nice twist on the "Damsel in distress" trope, slow mo kill cam, crazy ass main protaganist thtas very charismatic and full of personality and controls that are as smooth as butter. 9/10 worth every penny.

Great Premise, Terrible design. This game is been in a streak of bad horror games Ive been suckered into buying lately based on an awesome idea only to have it brutally murdered by terrible game design. Lets start at the top, the game looks and feels pretty cheap(which its mainly because its an indie studio) but the dialogue is just plain terrible. The game gives you VERY shoddy direction( Im not asking you to hold my hand but when I have to go and google my way out of a problem because the objective literally has nothing to do with what you're doing then we have a major problem.), its very bland and has boss fights that makes you hate the game because they are just plain unfair, adding to the fact that everytime you die you get penalized by having to spirit walk for X amount of minutes that increases each time you die making it a lesson in fultility, frustraton and joylessness. Overall avoid this game like the plague, if a dev refuses to fix major problems dont give them your money.

Early Access Review
If I could use one word to describe Starbound it would be empty. Most of space is an vast, empty, boring place in reality and ChuckleFish choose to reflect this in Starbound. There are tons of planets but nothing really on them to keep them unique or give them flavor besides different colored grass and wierd trees Starbound seems proud of declaring "biomes" but they serve no purpose beside eye-candy and the occasional acid pool or rain. The creatures are randomly generated as such they are just a bunch souless cannon fodder devouted to bump into you and deal damage. Oh some of them have lasers but usually just the flying ones( the "randomly generated" claim really goes out the window here). Items are breathing some life into the game but I literally have scoured hundreds of planets and never found anything of interest besides the occasional village and dungeon, both of which are so badly repeatitve that I cant stand to go to other planets and see the same science dungeon that I just saw on the last planet and every 3rd planet I go to. If you want a game like Starbound go get Terreria, the systems present give it more soul then this sham, and you dont have to wait for terrible developers to "fix" the game or claim that it's Early Access as an excuse to not address problems for months at a time.

Edit: recently it has come to my attention that the Dev ChuckleFish has been banning people from thier website and steam forums for showing any signs of critism of thier game or shady Dev strategy(they are developing multiple titles alongside Starbound). Dont give Chuckle Fish ANY money dont support Mods and Devs that only want your money and cant keep promises.

Crazy, wonky game where you play a goat doing gaot things like running into oncoming traffic and attaching yourself to said traffic having them drag you halfway across the county. You also get to sacrifice people to a satanic being and become queen of goats. 10/10 would play again.

Honestly this game is Terrible, it's a stark reminder of the bad side PS2 era, it looks like a bad PS2 game it playes like a bad PS2 game. Just a reminder this is a 2010 release and LOOKS LIKE IT CAME FROM 2003. The facial animation for each character is just so horribly done its a joke. The developer thought it would be fun to lock the resolution so its stuck in 720p, had to go and install a 3rd party fix just to get it to run properly in the correct resolution. Then when it does get going it crashes every 15 mins, or freezes on the pause menu requiring you to restart your progress from the last save point which are few and far in between out in the town. Lets talk a moment abou the HORRIBLE town design, I finished a story mission to be told that I have more then 12 hours til the next mission, so does the game give you some directions on where to go to sleep/pass time? NO, it gives you a marker to that mission and keeps telling you to come back, so in order to get to the mission I have to drive half way across town to the only sleeping bag not behind locked doors over half my cars gas. Oh did I forget to mention that? Cars have gas, so if you didnt do what I did after about an hour of searching for the sleeping bag and look it up online, you'll run out of gas and be screwed. The Enemies are a complete joke they are ALL "ghosts" that do nothing but bend over backwards like a haunted yoga instructer, never actually doing much besides walking slower than the earth turns towards you. They do get weapons but then all the do is just hold them up to thier faces and again never actually do anything. All in all dont waste your time, the game is terrible, the plot works mostly but the game is so horrible broken and terrible that you'll never want to get past the second case with out uninstalling it. 1/10

I recommend this to anybody who like survival, this game throws you into a randomly generated world full of hate and loathing for you. You're are given no instructions and only the advice "Your looking hungry, you should get something to eat" is given to you by your elusive captor. Just as the name of the game implies the main objective is not to starve but as soon as you've gathered enough food to seemily hold off death, night sets in with surprises in leaps and bounds. The object slowly morphs into surviving the onslaught of creatures the land plays host to like spiders(fan favorite), Gaint tree monsters, swamp creatures and others as you go along. Don"t Starve is a dark, charming experience that should pass noone by.
