Thor, the MTX, and community being against any and all changes killed this. Everything was setup for a new incredible fighter and now its turned into a discord fighter within a year.

Its incredibly sad to see this happen, but honestly it is not surprising. I sincerely hope this game explodes when it hits 1.0 and is feature full. The game is a multiplayer game and people are buying it expecting a SP game fully fleshed out. The Guilty Gear Strive children are spreading to these games and it shows.

People cried non-stop about the balancing changes (in a brand new EA game mind you) to the point of killing off a lot of players.

Mang0 was playing super heavy, quit, and a lot of people went with him. Now hes back in the news for being Mang0 and that hurts the games rep too. Its just a clustertruck of horrific plays.

Dan Fornace is goated and his games rock. But the fact Thor and Ludwigs company were given the reigns and its front to back filled with MTX at higher than normal prices...

Idk man. I was so happy for this and its just fried. Just GGRIP this quick.

Save your money, play a friends copy, or ask someone to share their steam account through family share to play it before you buy it.

We have had new character releases, and olympia brought back some life, then she was OP beyond belief as always and a lot of people quit.


Game was fantastic and they fumbled the bag so insanely hard that it might be unrecoverable.

Borrow or play with someone else before buying and understand you're buying a game that people have already completely written off and its actively being hated on.

RIP ROA 2... Loxodont was so much fun... oh well.

Its perfect. From the new mechanics, to the way CC and ASDI work, to the way heavies feel, to ledge trumping being back. I could go on forever.

If you liked RoA1 or are just interested, its very much worth your time. Highly recommend getting accustomed to the new mechanics and learning it as a new game.

Incredibly fun power fantasy game. It is best played in Multiplayer as the Single Player can get a little wonky and very hard.

but playing with a group of friends and coordinating these missions is an absolute blast!

23 hours in and I have hit the wall when it comes to spelunking. (60) Still a fantastic game and I didnt have to mod much back in with the new patch thankfully. They changed around some filetypes and its a bit harder but was successful none the less.

Thank you to the devs for the constant updates! Beautiful game and the ability to collect furniture and wildlife keeps me playing long after ive finished most of my house upgrades and all the Spelunking i can. really boosts the amount of gold you get since there isnt a reason to collect everything in the mines anymore. Outside of "Blathers" basically.

I have all but forgotten about the other NPC's in the game and been playing it like my own version of Moonlighter.

9/10 game. Trying to figure out how to unlock the mounts now. Great game, highly recommended.

Its very modern audience... The game is VERY zesty, and you can remove a lot of it with 1-2 mods. Check reddit.

All in all:

8.5/10 with mods. 1.5/10 without. The story is just Stardew Valley: The Anime so don't expect too much here. The gameplay is the fun part!

8.5 for the following. The Inventory system is kinda jank, the days feel too short imo (once again, can mod this), and there are a few interactions that made me roll my eyes even with the mods installed.

EDIT:

Linux: For those who are running into crashing issues, back up your save game files, erase the compatdata for linux folder and run the game. This fixed it for me. Had to do this several times last update but this did indeed fix the problem for me.

For windows guys, try deleting your user_settings and reload the game. That has been working for my windows friends.

Its such BS this game isnt in "Overwhelmingly Positive" rn. I have played tons of other "StS Clones" but this game genuinely takes everything from the Roguelike Deckbuilding genre and makes it their own.

I have been playing off and on for years. The hours here are certainly not representative of my full time with this game. But i will say this new Nightmare update is absolutely incredible.

Saw I didnt leave a review years ago, so rectifying now.

If you want a very hard but very fair Roguelike Deckbuilder. This is your Go-To. This and Draft of Darkness both have amazing takes on the genre and are very worth your time.

Fantastic "boomer shooter" and its WH40K so you cant go wrong.

These chapters are LONG. Insane game for the value.

Edit: A lot of people are complaining about getting lost... You guys do know there is a button you press and it will show you where to go right?

The game works flawlessly out of the box. Most of the errors you are seeing below are from users who are... lets say winter temperature IQ. Or restarted, you get the picture.


If you played these games before and you're getting weird sync issues, try this.

- Go to the games properties in steam, and disable the steam cloud.

- LINUX: /run/media/[username][drive]/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/15620/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Dawn of War 2

- WANDOZE: C:/users/[username]/My Documents/My Games/Dawn of War 2

- COPY/SAVE THE WHOLE DAWN OF WAR 2 FOLDER IN MY GAMES, KEEP IT SOMEWHERE SAFE, THEN DELETE THE WHOLE FOLDER IN MY GAMES.

- Enable the Steam Cloud Save

- Click the sync/cloud icon in the steam library to get it to sync the (empty) folder. You should see a Checkmark appear as if it were successful. (At this point you should have overwritten the saves online with nothing, this is good)

- Launch the game again > Create a new profile > Exit the game

- It should have synced as normal, now copy your previous saves back into the main folder and restart the game.

- When you launch the game, delete the new profile you created, and your old ones should function as intended.

Make sure you completely reinstall the whole game if you have played previously with mods.

This is a steam issue and not a DoW issue btw. But this should fix it for both platforms.

Since that issue was fixed, the game plays as intended right out the box. Do not listen to the... "simple jacks" in the audience below. They simply live that Doofus Rick lifestyle.



- Weird issue but if you have Japanese Characters in your name, or ASCII in your name, when you try and type to say, create a new profile or something along those lines, it just will not let you type. Had to dig for a while to figure that out, once i took the special symbols out of my name it started working.

The game is incredible, and its best to go in completely blind and give it a shot first. You can't get your first playthrough back, and the less you spoil for yourself in this game the better. It is hard, so prepare to have your colon rearranged forcibly several times before finding anything useful.

9.5/10, would recommend.

Fantastic game. Been playing since Day 1. Took a long break after beating all the content available only to come back to 200%-300% more content!

Game is fantastic, the dev works incredibly hard, and the game is worth your time any way you shake it.

Just go look at some gameplay from 2022/2023 compared to today.

Crack addicting roguelike that keeps on giving. 11/10 would play another 22 hours. (probably going to rn)
