I don't play many visual novels, however, Edepth Angel: Pinocchio's Murder looked interesting to me as it mentions collecting evidence in a timeline and presenting cases to alter the story. However, in my first play through that took roughly 1 hour I never did any of this. There was one mini game scene where I collected a blood and hair sample, but never ended up using it. The game was mostly clicking through dialog with a few choices thrown in every now and then. Many times the wrong choice would abruptly end the game.
The story started off decent and I enjoyed the art work, however, I just felt lost the entire game. I played through multiple times and got good and bad endings, but still don't understand what is going on at all. The game has some good ideas, but just feels unfinished. I think it's based off a comic series and I have never read them so maybe it assumes the player already knows what is going on. If the game gets some updates I might replay and update my review, but I just cannot recommend it in the state it is in now, especially at the $15 price tag.
