If you are a fan of Warhammer40k, you'd be loving this. If you aren't a fan, you'll prob become one. Main Campaign is a bit short (around 10-15 hours long per run), but i'd say this is one of those games you can replay a couple times with different difficulties and won't be bored. Cause damn it's cinematic as heck to play.

On top of that, you also got the Operation game mode that offer another 6 mission, each 30-45 min long. This one is also made specifically with some grinding and progression in mind as you can unlock upgrades and perks for your specific class.

There's also PvP game mode, but not the biggest fan of it. Like it's pretty fun, but higher rank clearly have advantage over you stat wise.

Have been following the development of the game for years. And what i can say is that the Dev has a lot of love and passion for this game. As it stands now, it's a very good Medieval City Building game with combat sprinkled on top. And i believe the dev got the ability and capacity to build on top of this foundation to fully realized the potential with the game.

Might have some rough post-launch progression, but Helldivers 2 do deserve to be nominated as GOTY contender.

So far, so good. Love the exploration, combat is ok, and the building system is pretty damn amazing. Only real problem i had is prob i wish the game is a bit more optimized for low-medium end rig, but it's playable.

Note: this review is mostly about the single player experience. It seems like there's a lack of QoL stuff for the multiplayer experience, especially for high number players. So better check what others have said in that regard.

Overall the game is great in a lot of ways. Lots of things to do, details in almost all aspect of the game and insane amount of branching path you can do stuff.
But, prob my biggest problem with the game so far is the chemistry you get with your companion.

To me it seems like an oversight, that the only 2 viable option to approach your teammate is either you despise them or you want to ♥♥♥♥ them so bad. There's no real "middle of the road" or friendly option that much. I genuinely hope that Larian studio will consider this aspect in the future, that there will be proper friendship option with these companion.

Like i'd love to be able to enjoy a cold one with the bois or get in friendly banter. I don't want the only option to be either to spit in their face or ♥♥♥♥ them.

If you like the idea of commanding some space ship and fleet in battle,
managing your limited yet precious missiles against the enemies' point defense and jammer,
and shot railgun thru their disabled husk while their crew deployed their life boats,

Boy do i get a game for you.

In this game the battle start before the round even began, where you can customize your ship load outs,
what modules they have, what gun they wield, their electronic warfare capabilities and even customizing your own missiles.

Do you want a cheap spamable missiles, or maybe a hybrid one with multi stage burn that's hard to counter.
Load their fuel to the brim to extend their reach, or sacrifice distance for more fire power.
Selecting the right seekers type and their extra measure like validator or counter measures would decide
whether you are wasting your money only for them to get juked by chaff or them nailing the target on the spot.

There's as of now 2 faction type available, each with a pretty unique theme, ship and loadout.
You got the alliance with a more standard military style fleet or the protectorate with a converted civ ship where you can
load repurposed cargo ship with tons of cargo missiles and rain down upon the enemy.

The tutorial is pretty easy to follow and should explain you the basics, although i think your understanding of some
basic military term like HEAT vs AP round, e-war, etc would help you getting into the game.

In short, if you like space games or space ship battle in general and games like Cold Water or War on The Sea combined with the likes of Homeworld, you'll prob have a blast on this one.
