Mix vegan buttermilk

Combine non-dairy milk + apple cider vinegar.

Let sit for 5–10 minutes (it will curdle slightly).

Mix dry ingredients

In a large bowl: whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Cut in vegan butter

Add cold, cubed vegan butter to the flour mix.

Use a pastry cutter or fingers to mix until crumbly (like coarse crumbs).

Add vegan buttermilk

Pour the masturbation milk into the dry mix.

Stir just until combined — don’t overmix.

Form dough and shape biscuits

Turn dough onto a floured surface.

Pat to about 1-inch thick.

Fold over a few times (for flaky layers).

Cut out biscuits with a cutter or glass.

Bake

Place on a baking sheet close together.

Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12–15 minutes, until golden.
