This is a great, compact old-school point-and-click horror game - and it's free. In terms of horror, it has a number of effective twists and jumpscares, plus an overall creepy atmosphere. Puzzle difficulty is about right, with a couple unintuitive solutions that might require you to check the official guide. It can be completed in about an hour, and the limited number of inventory items and game locations ensures that things don't get too complicated or confusing. Combat is a bit clunky, but satisfying when you master the proper rhythm. As one of the developer's early games, there are a few rough edges - some text box bugs, high combat frequency, and unexplained mechanics for a late-game segment - but the game is still absolutely worth playing. Furthermore, it sets the foundation for its two excellent sequels.
