Kharkov Slaughter in the Snow

Description
Beyond the third battle of Kharkov, General Winter has returned. Bombing and artillery has rendered the center of Kharkov devastated. Original epic summer map by ysoserious with eerie mood setting soundtrack, (map) remastered for Battleground Europe. Numerous changes include late war wrecks exchanged, dragons teeth pulled in favour of hedgehogs, many more buildings (bigger city), houses in outer parts of the city, train station and 2 trains, 2 additional villages and the satellite city greatly expanded, an extensive frozen river system, craters given depth, a little surviving greenery in the city, forward placed machine gun nests, static AA. There are some deserters at large, summary punishment is authorised. Team 1 ideally Soviet with a load out of Soviet weapons and mortar emplacements, team 2 ideally German a German weapon load out with a 105. Hope you enjoy the differences and the mod.

@ysoserious. Those deserters in the middle get a lot of wtf and 'look here pointers'. LMAO every time. This winter version was just an experiment to see if a single river with same water level could be feasible on the map. After it was done I decided to publish it as a complement to the main Kharkov Massacre map. It was at the time of the free giveaway and its exposure was massive. Could not believe the popularity in comparison given my efforts mostly on making the Kharkov Massacre map flawless. But there it is, lol. Thanks for your original work mate

Oh and those soldiers in the middle of the map I honestly had no idea how to delete them in editor May be a bug :( I just ignored them when i played Haha

Hey nice job on the map! Honestly didnt expect my map to be used (originally posted it on steam so I could access it on other computers). Thanks for the props and keep up the good work Layndarat!

@Wild 2of2 Where did this 1000 character limit come from? Deary me. I'm not completely against the idea of a moon style map, however many maps used with modded tuning packs end up looking like the moon in any case. Also modders are not allowed the tools by Relic that they need to make factions appear in space armour, have space tanks or have lasers, etc.

I do enjoy seeing different modders skin work though lmao often at some of the more bizarre ones appearing in game. All the modders are doing great work and I think they all deserve thumbs up just for their effort and having a go.

@Wild 1of2 Mixing LOTR with Coh2 and a dash of Star Wars for good measure? The former I prefer to read or write about and imagine and the later has gone way off track by repeating eps 4 and 5 with 7 and 8.

As for this game and maps, this particular KSitS map is already fairly wild with the river system and the number of bridges, all of the main bridges corresponding to roads on the Kharkov Massacre map in fact. The pedestrian bridges are there in some cases because they need to be.

This game has been out for a while it would be cool if we got some more "unique" maps with there own flavor. I really wish I had the time to figure out the map editor myself, but Im already invested in total war modding so I just dont have the time. Your map looks great though so Ill throw you some feed back after I give it a go.

Basically make Helms Deep but using the German Assets, make it super over the top like something right out of Castle Wolfenstein. You could have a story about some german scientist working on some doomsday weapon that the allies have to stop. Also if it was possible to make the ground and dirt color palette Grey and full of craters and you set it at night, you might be able to make it look like the map was set on the moon. This would also mean you wouldnt have to worry about placing vegetation an such.
