Moscow Camden & San Augustine Scenarios

Description
The Moscow, Camden & San Augustine (MC&SA) is seven mile shortline serving a lumber mill in Camden, Texas, linking it with the Southern Pacific at Moscow, TX.

Typical traffic consists of inbound lumber from the SP, and outbound lumber products from the sawmill back to the SP. I have also added a team track at Camden and two passenger platforms for those who like running excursion trains.

This Train Sim 2014 route is a somewhat freelanced model of the real-world MC&SA. The line runs through deep forests, has several challenging grades (up to 3.3%), an interchange yard at Moscow, and a switching yard at the sawmill at Camden. Limited signaling has been installed on the SP mainline and the tracks connecting to it, apart from there the route is 'dark'. This is a shortline after all, a single train can handle all the traffic. This route is all about switching duties. The real MC&SA owned a pair of SW900s in a striking white/orange paint scheme, a repaint of which is available at RailworksAmerica. However since these are not available on the Workshop any older four-axle SP unit will do nicely too for your scenarios.

A first version of this route had been already been released for Kuju's Rail Simulator, later updates came for Railworks 2 and 3. This Workshop version of the route is a stand-alone version that will not overwrite or change anything on the earlier releases of this route. You must own the Stevens Pass route DLC and the European and US Loco & Asset Pack DLCs to run this workshop route.

Used to drive by the railroad every other month on a run from Houston to east Texas. Sorely wish there were more Texas routes! Its well done, a nice modernized version of what was already available. The two on RWA are showing their age, and both don't really represent the current setup of the route. I like the addition of the stations, a neat concept if the MC&SA would run excursions again. A shame most of their steam fleet is now gone from the area.

Warwick Rail, thanks much for providing these links! I never knew it could be done like that. I've added them to the route descriptions so that they'll always be visible.

chris6064, there already is a Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines route. It only requires Horshoe Curve.

Descents are my worst enemy. Good job with the challenging grades!
