Try not to buy items until you know that they are needed for the plot to advance or to complete a quest.

Here are some money loops buy and sell for profit.

Method 1
1, Buy vegetables for 3 gold
2, Sell vegetables in the town for 4 gold
Gives a total of +1 gold for every vegetable you sell.

Method 2
1, Buy 5 vegetables for 15 gold
2, Make 1 healing potion at the old herbalist
3, Sell healing potions at the alchemy storerom for 26 gold each
Gives a total of +11 gold for every healing potion you sell.

Method 3
1, Buy grain for 30 gold
2, Make flour for 1 grain and 5 gold
3, Bake 6 bread for 1 flour
4, Sell 6 bread for 9 gold each
Gives a total of +19 gold for every 6th bread you sell.
