Just installed FF22 and it has cycles / month and production costs / month , not per hour. For instance, my spinnery recipe for fabric cotton has 576 cycles/month and costs $120/month.
Also, at the Oil Mill, I believe olive oil is an output product, not an input product.
(1) unless I've missed something, production is slow. My spinnery is full of cotton, storing fabric. Every hour it runs 2 cycles of 36 = 72 fabric per hour. In theory I get 1 pallet to take away and sell every 14 hours but it seems to scale with game speed, at 5x I actually get one pallet every 2-3 days.
(2) the input limit for a production building you own also applies to buildings you don't own. After one particularly enthusiastic harvest I had 4 bales of cotton to sell to the spinnery which I didn't own at the time. Nope, the spinnery only hold 3 bales worth of cotton. The 4th bale has been sitting on the sell point for around a year now slowly getting used up. I won't be harvesting cotton this year ...
It might make economic sense to add value and ultimately get paid more for things, but it's so slow that in practise you're better just taking the smaller money up front.
