ASB Addon: ESC NEXT Patch

Description
For 4.0+ ✔️

Alters the Extra Ship Components: Next (ESC:NEXT) weapon visuals to be similar to those included in Amazing Space Battles. This means beams and autocannons will look like they travel rather than fading out like vanilla.

Currently affects:
  • Laser weapons
  • Autocannons
  • XL and Titan lances
  • Strike craft beams
  • Disruptors partially (Still beams rather than projectiles like ASB, but they travel like lasers)
  • Engimatic weapons (Tweaks the M-Slot Arc weapon to look more like a shock)
  • Psionic weapons
  • Magnetic Cannons

I also have an equivalent mod for Ancient Cache of Technologies

Load Order
Place after Amazing Space Battles and ESC:NEXT in your load order like below:

1. Amazing Space Battles
2. Extra Ship Components: NEXT
3. ASB Addon: ESC: Next Patch

It doesnt affect any gameplay scripts, only graphical effects. So it should work fine as long as ASB or ESC havent renamed things.

I will be going through all my mods soon though.

If the effects in the files have the same names, it'll work fine. I also have several custom effects which won't care either way as they're included.

Ah okay. So this mod doesn't make ESC use the ASB missile graphics?

@perl That wouldn't seem to be a bug from this mod as this doesn't touch missiles, their particle effects or models at all, only weapons with a beam-style graphic. Infact I don't even include the missile file at all, so the original one from ESC Next will be used unless another mod overrides it.

Found a bug -- hurricane missiles from ESC Next have no missile. Its just a cloud of smoke without a projectile
