NRE 3GS21B "Genset"

Description
Introducing the NRE 3GS21B "Genset" Locomotive! A common freight locomotive staple used by many different railroads including:

BNSF Railway
California Northern Railroad
Canadian Pacific
CSX Transportation
Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority
Metro Stevedore
Neptune Bulk Terminals
Norfolk Southern
Nova Chemicals
National Railway Equipment
Pacific Harbor Line
Tacoma Rail
Union Pacific
United States Army
San Diego and Imperial Valley Railroad

... With an outstanding total of 182 locomotives!

The NRE 3GS21B is a low-emissions diesel genset locomotive built by National Railway Equipment (NRE). It is powered by three Cummins QSK19C I6 engines with each one developing 700 horsepower (522 kW) and creating a total power output of 2,100 horsepower (1,570 kW). Instead of a single prime mover, the NRE genset locomotive has three engines that each can be turned off or on as power is needed reducing overall diesel emissions and improving fuel efficiency. More than 150 of the 3GS21B Genset locomotives have been produced to date, with the majority of these units being manufactured at NRE's Mount Vernon shops in Southern Illinois.

Thanks

I have wonderful memories going track side with my best friend in Anaheim, Ca and seeing these special (or at least to me) locomotives street run down past the old wig-wag. I remember Randy, an engineer who drove those locomotevs on the Union Pacific. He gave me and my best friend signs from signal boxes (which I still have in my bedroom). :steamhappy:

awesome! keep it up. maybe next model a green goat, if you need diagrams or help you could ask on Discord. Nice to see you credited the creator of the original model. Most people tend to look down on model stealing/ kitbashing, when credit or perms arnt given. Just keep that in mind. :steamhappy:
