During the game's final stage, Kratos and Atreus come across a massive mural. When Atreus says the mural is about their story, Kratos corrects him and tells him that it is about Atreus' story. One particularly intriguing image in this mural depicts Atreus cradling Kratos. Whether this indicates that Kratos will die in Atreus' arms in the future or not is unknown. What is known is that that scene will be recreated in a future God of War game.
