New Version: V1.7 http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=308215875&searchtext=

Update Details are on the bottom.

On DLC: (Downloadable Content)
I have used the track and buildings out of the Norfolk Southern Coal route. I don't know why it says NEC route required.

This route is based in Genoa, Illinios, USA. It is about 50 miles West of Chicago.

There are two sets of tracks, the CP and the CN.

Both will be usable, but right now you can do quickdrive on the CPRS between Hampshire and Kingston. There is a flyover of the CN Freeport sub at Genoa which in future will be usable.

Tracks are laid as far as Eglin and Hampshire on the IC&E and also Eglin for the CN Freeport Sub.

Route Information

Now there are actually three different tracks in this route!
First the Canadian Pacific Railway:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa,_Chicago_and_Eastern_Railroad
Historically from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakota,_Minnesota_and_Eastern_Railroad

Second, the Canadian National Railway:

The third is at Elgin which I haven't worked out yet who is the owner! It runs North just West of Eglin after running alongside the CP line for a bit.

And hopefully you will be able to run Metras up to Big Timber from Chicago. That is when it is complete.
But the main aim is to run 12000ft freight trains at 40 MPH along the track.

Update Details (Subscribing to this means you no longer need the previous version)

Coming next is Colvin Park to Burlington on the Freeport Sub (CN). I have only been working along the IC&E which is owned by Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. (CPR)

Although the track is there, I need to add the crossing loops and scenery etc.

This update has scenery added at Hampshire and a good friend Buzz has helped with reference material. Walker Rd also is in focus on this update V1.1 20th August 2014.

I also want to build the track that runs North from Elgin up to Union through Huntley. There is a Railroad (rather large I might say!) Museum in Union.

Genoa and Kingston also received scenery.

Quick Drive and Free Roam should work ok.

Daniel, its basically what agseig just said, IRM (Illinois Railway Museum) is awesome!! The line is only five miles long. If you'd like to see the museums website go to www.irm.org . The UP line that goes to Belvidere serves the Crysler plant and the trains usually go towards Belvidere about 4 or 5 and the train towards the City of Chicago is usually through there in the night hours. Recently IRM has gotten there Frisco decapod 1630 back to revenue service.
