Description
No more tooltips in your events/activities/court telling you the safe optimal option to select!

If you think the game is too easy to play, that roleplay is without risk, that there's no mystery in the game, then this could be the mod for you.

This mod removes tooltips from event options, you're no longer shown the consequences of your actions before you choose the optimal option.

I've been playing with this mod for a long time, so still don't know a lot of the options since before the T&T dlc was released and I personally think it's a blessing. More so as I use other mods such as RICE and VIET that add additional events to the game.

In fact I think you'll be surprised how quickly you forget which was the safe optimal option to take in events, as you have no doubt been aimlessly clicking options on auto pilot for a long time in the repetitive events in the game.

HOWTO
Simply load the mod and play the game.

Mom, don't turn the lights out!!!
If you get scared about a particular event because it literally means life and death or game over, or your perfect genetically engineered progeny will be less so, and you're not the die hard fly by the seat of your pants daredevil you thought you were, and perhaps your cojones grandes are more bolas pequeñas, then you can switch tooltips back on while still in the event by selecting the Event TT show option in any character's personal menu.

If you ever get brave enough to sleep with the lights off again, then turn tooltips back on by selecting the Event TT hide option in any character's personal menu.

NOTE
You will not see a blurred tooltip in game as shown in this mod's thumbnail, you will simply not see any tooltip popup at all when you hover over event options.

You can add this mod to an existing game and safely remove it.

If this mod is not for you, cool, simply don't use it, you don't need to drop by to tell me.

Compatibility
This mod is not compatible with any mod that edits button_eventoption gui type

I want the opposite, a mod that tells you event outcome, to save me from save scumming, derp.

I can't edit the tt all I can do is hide it.

If that happens with the Russian game then it's something they do in the game engine, not in the gui.

Or you could add a game rule that enables/disables tooltip with only the button text

I don't know how it is in the original, but in the Russian translation the texts of many buttons in events are too long to fit on the button and the only way to view them is to open the tooltip. It would be cool if you kept the button text in the tooltip, but removed everything else.

Thank you

Yeah I have been musing over whether having the icons is leading you by the nose to the best option or just indicating there is a unique option.

So I started looking through some of the events to get an idea if it's always a buff or there's some nerfs behind them but the results I got were kind of ambiguous then I got side tracked into fixing bugs in other mods and then got further side tracked with ck3 updates and then finally released the updated mod behind the ck3 updates.

So apparently I had the icons turned on at the point of release. When I get some time I'll start my investigation into the options behind the icons again to see if they are leading by the nose and if they are then I'll definitely hide them.

@Lost Nomad fair point, some people might prefer having them
it's just me in the end, I felt like seeing the traits icons you'd get made me have the same "pick best option don't read done" behaviour ahah
i'll keep the mod for my personal and let you do your thing ;)

Oh did they make it in to the release?

Not sure if I have played with the mod since releasing it so hadn't noticed or if I might have deliberately ignored them because it goes back to my original should I or shouldn't I conundrum.

I hid them then put them back then hid them then put them back and so it went on because I couldn't decide. So I guess I was on the put them back curve when I released the mod.

It comes with working on so many mods concurrently.

I'll have to take a look when i next play to see what they look like in the wild.

@Lost Nomad hey mate
I wondered it you left the traits etc icons on purpose ?
making the hbox at line #1034 'visible=no' in the 00_event_windows.gui file hides them

I feel like seeing them goes against the mod's idea, but you're the author so it's up to you ^^

I was about to upload a submod but it's such a small change I figured i might as well just tell you

@daintydysphemism
Cool, I'd been testing it like this in my sandbox for a while but never released it as the mod took less priority compared to my other mods which needed extensive work over the last couple of updates.

Glad it works for you

Thank you, now it works on both the royal court and all the events (at least for the DLCs I own). 😁
