More Specialized Zones

Description
Stellaris Version: 4.0

Overview
This mod aims to make the specialized districts of advanced planet types more interesting by adding new zones that you can build. These zones might provide jobs from the base game or new ones created for this mod, or they might simply provide bonuses to your planet/empire. My goal is to make this mod feel like vanilla+ so it can fit in almost any playset you want.

Additions

A detailed list of everything added can be found in the pinned discussion.

Zones
  • Mining Arcology
  • Generator Arcology
  • Farming Arcology
  • Healthcare Zone
  • Entertainment Zone
  • Diplomatic Zone
  • Propaganda Zone

New Jobs
  • Delegate
  • Propagandist

Requirements

No requirements!

Compatibility

For Users

This mod does not overwrite any vanilla files and should be compatible with most mods as long as they don't remove zone sets from the specialized planet types.

Current In-Built Compatibility

Let me know if there are any mods you want in-built compatibility for!

For Modders

All the zones in this mod have the 'msz_zones' zone set, so you can include that for your districts to recognize this mod. If you run into any issues, let me know and I'll try to help.

Planned Features

I'd love to continue adding cool zones and jobs to this mod so expect new things if I get some inspiration, or feel free to suggest something! Below are a few features I want to add or am currently developing.
  • Pop growth/building zones for gestalts, robots, and cloning empires
  • Support zones which give scaling bonuses instead of jobs
  • Ship construction/breeding zones
  • Resource storage zone
  • Planetary battery zone
  • Might look into locking some zones behind tech (like healthcare zones behind the T2 building tech)
  • Add planetary designations and automation (once its fixed)

Localization

Currently, English is the only supported languages. All other languages have been machine-translated so I apologize for any errors. If you would like to contribute localization for any other language, please let me know as I'd be very happy to include it!

Because of the latest patches, vanilla zones disappear again. Could you check?

Parciwel, thanks for bringing that to my attention, I'll note it down to fix next update.

Graepix, no, I didn't add that in this mod.

Does this mod allow you to build the rural support zones on the ecumenopolis?

The localization for german uses the wrong quotation marks for the first 26 lines. It needs to use the english ones ("") instead of the german ones („“)

Chijan, it should be fixed now with both vanilla and modded zones. The latest patches changed how zone slots worked so I needed to update. Compatibility with other mods might also be improved now due to the change.

Are there only additional zones? I cannot find vanilla's economic, research and etc. zones.

Sweet thank you :p

Laura, I do plan to remove my version of the biotrophy zone without changing the housing of the vanilla one since I want to keep this mod balanced with vanilla. However, I just uploaded a simple mod that changes the vanilla sanctuary enclave to give -200 housing instead of -500 which you can find here if you're interested (it should be compatible with this mod too).

the 4.0.11 update added a bio trophy specialization but they have the vanilla take away 500 housing instead of your 200. If you remove your version of it can you make the vanilla one only take 200 housing away?
