Amalgamation: Harehnoth's Pirate Spec Pack

Description
"I... Don't even know where to begging Commander. I do believe we are out of options here, and we need to accept all that we can. These are troublemakers, but at least they'll try to follow your commands. They're loud, and some have antique customs, but we at least can confirm that they are against the aliens before they are against us."


General

This Spec Pack adds a total of 6 specs! 2 Primaries: Captain, a sword user with a few support skills. And Quartermaster, a Pistol user with some support skills. 2 Secondaries: Swash, A Melee secondary that shoots your pistol when you melee, and only wants melee primaries. And Buckler, A pistol secondary that will shoot after you melee the enem... wait, that's just a Swashbuckler in 2 separate specs, except this one focus on its pistol usage.. And finally, 2 Tertiaries: Sootsman, a heavy weapons guy with lost of rockets that will make even the most connoisseur of grenades think twice before talking about explosives near them, if they can walk with all that weight. And Modern Pirate: A hacker with great anti-mec potential, some stealth Napalm Protocol, and a few other surprises.

Balance and Ideology
They're above the average in power compared to your everyday spec, Quartermaster is exceedingly versatile with reaction fire and movement shooting, Captain is a bit clunky but its perks are valuable, Swash is strangely weaker than Buckler in a very simple way: Uh, if your primary is melee, you probably want to use it, if your melee is pistol that becomes quirky. Both have perks unbound by their main weapon, not locking you in their playstyle(Even though Buckle your Swash is REALLY good). Modern Pirate is very weird, but quite powerful. It's gremlin perks works in a situational way that is quite amusing to play with, while Sootsman is... slow, heavy and powerful.

- Captain
He is a bulky melee user with Rolling Cutter as a starting skill: Doesn't end turn if used in blue move, cannot crit, no cooldown. It's a bit clunky to use effectively, but it can create several advantageous situations. My whole idea with them was creating a forward-line leadership, with Combat Presence to bolster your action economy at Captain rank, and potential to roll skill such as Mark target, Inspirational and Steadfast.


- Quartermaster
A versatile pistol user with tons of reaction fire at its disposal: Spotter, which is return fire that marks the enemy, Close Combat Specialist and dogpile as a capstone. And before all that, Accurate reaction to make them extra likely to miss. Not only that, it also has... both mark target as a potential roll, and Combat Presence guaranteed at Captain rank. They have a few pistol enhancing or specific.

- Swash & Buckler

They are what started all of this, with the perk Buckle your Swash from MZ. Wanted to make a silly little spec that can shoot after melee. They do more than that. Swash is a melee secondary that only rolls pistol primary. Buckler is a pistol secondary that can only roll melee primaries, and they complement those playstyles with a... lot of the other side. Both have perks that are not exclusive to swords or pistols, and they tend to buff their own weapon instead of the primary, with Buckle your Swash as a bridge between them.

- Modern Pirate
It started as a joke, but I quite liked how it plays! Love them. Hack or dominate mecs with Spaghetti code, wreck all mechanical units and burn the non-mechanicals.

-Sootsman
Originally called Cannoneer, until I discovered there was a Cannoneer for Mec Amalgamation. I just shoved every single heavy weapon into this spec until they couldn't see or move properly. Good luck with them, they're VERY powerful, but sluggish. Also the new rarest tertiary woohoo.


Outro and Thanks

Well... I don't know where to begin. I wanted to make a spec with MZ's Buckle your swash, and I ended up making 2, then I needed to guarantee that they're rolled by specs that has both pistols or swords, so I made more. Then I made 2 tertiares just fo good measure.

Figured it out, it was me being dumb and chasing the "Missing Dependencies". Once I removed Primary Secondaries it is now fine

that way I can figure out if the melee is being excluded, or there is jank with the smg.

If you have the character with melee and not change it, during selection, does it have access to other melees?

I can't see what it is, I have the required mods so it isn't that. One thing I can think of is some strange interaction with sending the character on a Covert Operation and changing his weapon to a SMG for speed

Seems to be a mod < > mod interactiion, as i'm with almost 800 mods and I don't have the issue you're reporting. I'll try and look at his Modlist, but i'd appreciate the help in trying to track it down.

My captain keeps losing the ability to equip a sword and when he did, I could not pick another melee weapon. I am playing with Marbozir's mod list so if there is anything that would interact funny with the Captain I can search the list of mods I have to figure out the offending mod
