Description
-- Azureworld --

-------------------------------------
Off the coast of Italy lies a humble little tropical island home to a resort know by the locals as "Resort Baia Smeraldo", The Emerald cove resort

This resort is a hit with travellers and vacation goers alike, with its clear blue waters, fantastic view of the ocean, amazing accommodations, and sheer number of activities to partake in! This hit status has attracted the attention of our two favourite teams of mercenaries who plan on having a lovely stay here, away from their exhausting jobs.

Of course though being as rowdy as they are, an all out brawl ensues, over what you may ask? Why multi-colour leis of course! Play on either of two teams as you duke it out for total ownership of your vacation!

Welcome to Player Destruction Azureworld!

The map
-------------------------------------
Azureworld is a brand new PD map set on the coast of a tropical island. Players play inside of a resort and battle for multi-coloured Leis which they deposit in either of two capture zones which alternate as the game goes on.

This resort is proud to announce the newly installed "Boost pads" as their latest attraction for tourists. Take one step on the treadmills around the map and be propelled with high speeds forward and use the momentum to jog faster than ever before. Perfect for flanking your enemies... we just urge those with pre-existing heart conditions to maybe sit this one out.

Additionally through gameplay your stay will be narrated by the resort's very own energetic manager! (Voiced by Octoblitz VA) Make sure to give him a good hello as he will guide you and your team to victory.

As a caution to park guests we urge you all to stay on look out on the board walk, we've been having reports of orcas getting a little too close for comfort and we do not want to have any major incidents... we've already had enough lawsuits for one year....

I just want to also take this section to say thanks to all the people who supported me while working on this map and you, the reader for taking the time to check this map out! This map was one of the ones that got me through a hard time and was a way for me to get through it easier. I'm happy that the map placed as well as it did in the contest I made it for (Won 7th place out of around 27+ maps) and more happy how much players have enjoyed playing and talking about it in the time since I made it! It was a rough development but in the end I am proud of how the map turned out and I do hope that all who play it enjoy the detailed environment I tried to put together in those 2 months way back when! Thanks for supporting me in my mapping endeavours and I hope that you all will have fun playing on this map and support it any way you can!

Thanks,
-Seacat

That's ok, we can get heated at times and you weren't fully wrong either. Glad we came to an understanding at least! : D

If it's just a map made for fun then I honestly do not mind it having custom announcer stuff. Also I'm apologizing how rude I sounded

I mean for the most part I made this just for fun, but I wouldn't mind that happening honestly

as a very big sonic fan who is also a big tf2 fan and shit, this is....peak. Also the sonic announcer is also peak, custom announcer are always peak and fit tf2. Nothing wrong with them

For context, PD does not have any code to play voice lines like something like 5CP does. Rather I had to get a friend to make logic that manually triggers the voice lines to play each time the point opens and such

Honestly that's a very fair take and I can get behind it somewhat. The main reason I did one for this map is of course because it's fun to see something new, but also because base Player Destruction does not have announcer lines. So while I could reuse some existing lines, it just doesn't feel all too coherent hearing decades of voice lines in different quality, and this allows for much more flexibility in talking about certain aspects of the map like a voice line playing when a player falls into the lava pit. Plus it also feels better in regards to the story of this map as the mercs are on vacation from the gravel wars.

Ugh not another map with a custom announcer. Sorry but I do not like these kinds maps. Something like that might be okay for community servers but not for Main tf2. The Announcer is too iconic and part of what makes TF2... well TF2. Taking the Announcer away is also taking away parts of TF2s identity
