The button has a purpose... no spoilers. My mistake was in placing it right in front of the entrance. One would hit the button right away and never know why. Fixed.

If you don't like turret labrynths, perhaps you should avoid designs with the words "turret" and "labrynth" in their names. This was built for those who giggle when knocking turrets down. I absolutely loved the Turret Labrynth series.
At no point can you become permanently trapped anywhere in this puzzle. When "lost" in a confined space like this "very open" maze, simply find an exterior wall and follow it around.
