Description
History:

The MSWJR: The Midland and South Western Junction Railway opened in its entirity in late 1883 (Cheltnham - Andoversford - Cirencester - Swindon - Savernake - Ludgershall - Andover) with much financial difficulty. However by the turn of the century the line was making a large profit and became invaluble in both world wars with heavy traffic coming from the Midlands going to the docks in the south such as Southampton. Services were reduced in 1958 and on 9 September 1961 passenger traffic was withdrawn, much of the route remained open for freight and was closed in stages from 1964 to 1975. A section remains open for freight between Andover and Ludgershall still used for freight traffic only. Also a section has been preserved just north of Swindon and is called the Swindon and Cricklade Railway. http://www.swindon-cricklade-railway.org/

The Malmesbury Branch:

Opened in late 1877 the Malemsbury line was a 6 and a half mile line from Dauntsey to Malmesbury with an intermediate station at Great Somerford. When the Great Western Railway opened there cut-off to shorten journey times to Bristol the line became less used. This lead to the opening of a spur to Little Somerford in 1933 and the closure of the line to Dauntsey. A spur between just north of Great Somerford to the junction with the Little Somerford spur was left in place however to stre wagons awaiting repair. The line closed to passeengers in 1951, however specials frequently operated on the line. Freight operations ceased in November 1962.

The Calne Branch:

Opened on 29 October 1863 the Calne branch connects the towns of Chippenham and Calne with a 5 and a quarter mile branch line containing two intermediate stations: Stanley Bridge Halt and Black Dog Halt. Closing on 18 September 1965 being one of the last profitable branch lines in Wiltshire.

The Route:

The two branches are represented with accurate detail and gradients. In all there is 18 miles of line with mainline stations at Little Somerford, Chippenham and Savernake Low Level and branch stations at Calne, Black Dog Halt, Stanley Bridge Halt, Malmesbury, Grafton, Savernake High Level, and Marlborough. The route is set in the 1950's when all lines were still being used. The Savernake area is fully detailed including both 1 in 60 branches to Hat Gate.

Fixes:

Frogs inserted at diamond crossover at Chippenham, easing of gradient at 1 in 60 area just outside Chippenham. QD's fixed from original upload.

DLC REQUIRED IN ORDER OF NECESSITY: Falmouth Branch, Weardale and Teesdale Network, MML London-Bedford(textures only), West Somerset Railway(Station Clutter Only)

@WobblyTooth I think it might be the track rule in certain places then? The textures I think otherwise should be only other things that shouldn't show up.

I have the Falmouth Branch, and all other DLC except MML, but the track doesn't show up.

@WobblyTooth No, the track is from the Falmouth Branch.

Is the track from MML?

@bdurrans Yes I didn't have them at that time unfortunately, which as you say would have been used, however with ts16 I now have some Lower quadrent semaphores. Also I am now making the line at Swindon as annoyingly an irreversible problem occured requiring a fresh start!

Hi, I really like the fact you are doing these areas around Bristol. Well done. I believe however, the signalling should be Great Western (arm down not up), especially at Great somerford. Thoughts?
