Description
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears!

I am proud to present the ROME II Community Patch!

PATCH GOALS
  • Vanilla-oriented - Think of this mod pack as Vanilla Plus+. All fixes and features in this mod are designed to seamlessly integrate into your vanilla ROME II experience, like an official CA patch. If a feature doesn't pass a "does this feel vanilla" litmus test, it doesn't get added. In fact, most of the changes are lifted directly from either Total War: Attila or Total War: Warhammer.

  • Mod-friendly - This patch strives for maximum compatibility; other mods that edit the same tables as this patch may conflict, but they should always remain playable with no crashing. Savegame compatible.

PATCH HIGHLIGHTS
  • Improved CAI from WARHAMMER and ATTILA!
  • Diplomacy changes from ATTILA & WARHAMMER! (Adjusted cultural relations to match Attila's, treaties net fewer positive diplomatic modifiers overall, but the AI also forgives war more quickly.)
  • Combat mechanics/morale from ATTILA/Warhammer (fully compatible with battle mods!)
  • Fixed the vanilla bug where AI declares war and then immediately sues for peace!
  • Improves auto-resolve from WH2
  • Stronger unit highlights/triangles from WH1 (as seen in screenshot)
  • Great Power Diplomatic penalties added.
  • Public Order hit on higher difficulty levels, & the AI no longer gets free public order on any difficulty, copied from Warhammer
  • No more Slums!
  • Generals will act as governors when in provinces (similar to Attila), and their Authority, Cunning & Zeal will have effects on public order, among other things
  • New Edict: Infrastructure Spending: Provides sanitation, roads, and happiness
  • Raiding armies now steal food from the region they're raiding and transfer it to the raiding faction's granary ;)
  • Corruption values matching Attila
  • Sea Sickness by Magnar
  • Battle Camera from WH2
  • Illegitimate children enabled
  • Walled settlements now get a 15% increase in strength during autoresolve calculations.
  • Includes Bruce_R's "Cavalry Wedge Revamp" and "Wall Abilities Tweakdown" mods!
  • Political power effects from Attila
  • Deployment Zones from Warhammer 2
  • Much, much more!
  • Compatible with most mods and safe for save games :)
  • Using this patch, the game is significantly more difficult than vanilla. Recommend you play on the same difficulty you play Total War: Attila and Total War: Warhammer on

This mod will be updated if any changes come into Total War: Warhammer. Help me out! If there's any values I've missed, let me know!

"I use no civil war mod, and it works with this promising project when I tried it earlier today on my exsisting campaign with like 30+ mods running along with it. Also, it works with Roman Houses mod, and Volcano battle mod I play with atm. It even works with Better campaign AI 2.2 mod. So, I can confirm this project really looks to be mod friendly. So, good job HCP, all the best and good luck with it." - Steam User "Dominus"

*Visual mods were in use when I took the screenshots such as Idreaus' brilliant attila map skin.

@happycompy (I guess you renamed yourself to Working Joe?) it might be too late in this mod's life to make adjustments but here goes: this is the only overhaul mod i"m using, all others are small QOL tweaks.

Started a Getae campaign and the cultural penalties and cultural conversion seem borked. My own provinces are getting converted faster than I can despite having cultural buildings and emissary/diplomat agent. I legit cannot expand because I have a rebellion every 5-10 turns. If you decide to return to this mod please consider revising these values because they're making it incredibly annoying and unrewarding :\

This mod fixes absolutely nothing and actually makes it so much worse. ill form a access pact with a faction and next turn theyll revoke it, then do the same next turn aswell because the AI no longer is capable of actually ending the treaty and will instead pop up with the "this faction has ended their millitary access pact" every single turn until you cancel it yourself. All this mod does is change a bunch of variables to be the same as attila which completely breaks the game because THIS IS NOT ATTILA. my fully stacked armies of extraordinarii and hoplites were unable to win against an army made up entirely of levy freemen. For the love of jupiter do NOT download this mod :Shouted:

This mode does not "improve" the base game, but does multiple questionable changes, that break multiple things in practice - economy, diplomacy, inner faction mechanic etc. It basically mix Attila number values with Rome2', and conclusion is mess.

As @Tyler posted on previous page

"This is most definitely not a "patch" this is just a mod that tweaks things to your liking that are not necessarily improvements. The unoficial shogun 2 patch actually fixes bugs."

the economic penalties might be too harsh. on hard difficulty as rome i am forced to have max armies due to the very aggressive ai flooding me with full stacks everywhere, and once i got to a certain imperium level i can barely break even with taxes almost maxed.

why does this add squalor and food penalties to buildings that didn't have them before? Grain pits and military port buildings specifically.

Thank you for the mod!

Can you tell what it's already included in this mod from https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3347603284 please?

I need a true AOR system, that is something that I miss terribly from Rome I mods.

@Taxiarchos you need to right click R2TW in your libary => Options => Updates/Beta => choose version

this is the most broken mod that i have ever tried, what happens with auto-resolve? I got the best of the best army that i could get 4 units of the Praetorian guard, 4 units of armored legionaries, 3 units of Cretan archer, 2 units of Eagle Cohort, and 4 units of Praetorian Cavalry, and still NO CHANCE of winning. Also, when i double my unit with the same portions/size i only get 60-75% chance of winning. Really, I lose to a bunch of Italian Spearmen and mercenary Italian Cavalry that literally 3rd tier units?
Ohh god, i can even imagine what will happen if AI have the second or first tier units…..
I didn't have that much time to play every single battle.
