This is really well made. I'm not sure I did the third puzzle intentionally as I didn't use many of the portal surfaces, but it was still very fun

Fabulous

Also, what skybox did you use and where could I get it?
BurningCakeDoesAche 19 Jul, 2021 @ 1:31am
The level design was very good - it really caught the feeling of one of my favorite non-canon Portal 2 styles: outdoor test chambers. It had that "liminal" vibe, especially with the lack of music. The puzzles were good, although I broke the first room.

Very nice map with an original design.
SkyGlass 22 Dec, 2020 @ 12:48pm
It was fun figuring out the light unlock combination because once you spend a little bit of time pondering the diagram, them "bam" the solution stood out. I bet that was fun to make. What a awesome, cool, and beautiful puzzle. Thanks for the enjoyable logical treat:)

What a job !!! Thanks a thousand ! I love the design of first "room"...
There are too few outdoor maps, i love that. I dont imagine the time you spent to construct this test, but i hope you'll make a suite. Favorite !

great please make more outdoor maps!
whistlestopursus 28 Oct, 2015 @ 12:20am
that was really cool i liked the myst twist with the switches myst twist switch
wildgoosespeeder 25 Sep, 2015 @ 10:51pm
I find that randomly flipping switches and see if there is a switch that can activate lights without deactivating others by using the diagram a better strategy than trying to figure out the right combination. Also I was able to carry the cube from the first area over the fizzler. Also I didn't need the reverse funnel or cube because I can climb from one funnel to another upward. The fizzler wasn't covering enough to prevent me to shoot a portal through what you were originally trying to prevent me from portaling.

Excellent challenging game. Good job.

@jackr911 Skyboxes are pretty easy. You'll probably want to create a few test rooms when you're learning Hammer; just empty rooms with a few lights and maybe a couple of puzzle elements. Don't try to create something big and grand before getting some experience with the basics.

Not to say that you shouldn't experiment early on! Just remember that it's okay to throw something out if it isn't working. For every map I release, I have about 8 others that I haven't. If you're so inclined, go look up a video on YouTube called 'Extra Credits - Fail Faster.'

This is probably more information than you really needed, but I like to educate people on how to use Hammer.

@Idolon im thinking about getting the hammer editor to improve the look of my maps. Is the sky easy to do?
Petutski 5 Oct, 2014 @ 7:01pm
Very nicely done! One little ninja jump which I will overlook. Otherwise nice and logical and a beautiful environmnent! Lots of fun!
vioray 27 Jul, 2014 @ 7:09am
very nice, good change of scenery from the usual maps and the puzles were fun. I'd recomend adding an emancipation grid on the exit door rather than the invisible barrier preventing carrying the cube, it's not important but it would be less of an immersion-breaker
Professor Von Danzig 19 Oct, 2013 @ 10:14pm
This by far is the most well done map i have ever seen or played
Phrendon 30 Jul, 2013 @ 4:23pm
Completed it. But a died twice jumping from the white pipe to the orange pipe. Also, was able to take the first cube into the last room, but it didn't really help or hurt me.

Great Map, textures and size, colors and feel were nice. Needed some mood music though, like from portal 1. However, if I may (spoilers): This one stumped me bad. I could not figure out the purpse of the (reverse) tractor beam, nor could I get passed the barrier without some creative portal zapping to where I had a shot passed the barrier so that the tractor beam could push me to that next zone. Then, I had no use for the cube. (This part had me wondering how could I get the cube without destroying it or myself with the laser guard on the concrete and barrier?) Then on the way out, I had no idea how to leave without leaning on the button to give me a clear shot to a wall to tractor beam my way to the exit. I liked the look of that exit room. I could encouage you to make this map to have more puzzle zones as well as sight seeing areas, perhaps denote some areas where they have the retro 50's, all the way to your 80's parts/ aesthetic? Thanks for being creative.

Thanks that was very good.

@Jp i couldn't either... =/
La Petite Magicienne 17 Dec, 2012 @ 2:50am
Very nice escape level ! you worked very well on the textures. The distances are maybe hudges but it's cool. I don't really think that the last room have to me in your map. and i think this last room is broken
GWD9000 20 Nov, 2012 @ 3:38pm
Overall, the look and feel of the map is nice, but as others have already advised, there are exploits - I didn't need either cube to get through. You can correct the last puzzle to require the cube by making the floor portable surface a single square well away from the wall where the button is so the player can't 'lean' against it and portal their way to the exit with the fizzler deactivated , and the first puzzle can be funnel transfer exploited to expose an unprotected part of the portable wall to get across without using the cube, the lazer grid protected portable surface or re-direct button . Trying as much as I can, I couldn't get my way over to the other wall where there are 2 doors... are these decorations or hidden/secret areas? Regardless, Still enjoyable, and I very much hope you make more maps. Cheers.
Audiodef 14 Nov, 2012 @ 11:21am
Good stuff. Didn't need the barrier-sealed area in the last puzzle, though.
Pyroinferno 11 Nov, 2012 @ 11:29pm
LOVE the outdoors sections really throws off the whole "test chamber" feel and is refreshing. Actually made me pause for a bit and I usually just blow through test chambers. The second test with the circuits is nothing "new" per se but still new and refreshing. I actually took about 7 minutes to solve it. Even went as far to enlist aid and the second I sent the picture with the info I solved it. Stuck true to its name "Conspiracy" i feel like there is something going on especially the transitions.
ember 11 Nov, 2012 @ 10:35am
This is really interesting. That 2nd puzzle is kind of interesting, considering how it's a puzzle and a break between standardized tests, so it actually feels like you're progressing to the next test chamber like it's your job, but then there's the problem of getting there because the power is messed up. It's a really nice concept. I love it.
thydus 11 Nov, 2012 @ 3:30am
Nice one, very unique style, made with a lot of love for the details, you can see it, but unfortnetly the puzzles itself is not really an issue. But still very well made!
Chirpy 9 Nov, 2012 @ 8:53am
Excellent
appletau 8 Nov, 2012 @ 10:00pm

Carpetbeater 8 Nov, 2012 @ 7:19pm
Nice map, I wanted to sight see, be the tourist, visit the generator room?
The Medusan 7 Nov, 2012 @ 9:03pm
yeah FYI the first puzzle is broken, but other than that very good! you can stand in the funnel and shoot a portal over the emance grille to the wall facing the cube, then use funnel to get over there lol.
+ S L I C C 7 Nov, 2012 @ 7:40pm
cool
Steeldunes 7 Nov, 2012 @ 2:56pm
Too bad there is a shortcut in it... you dont need the cube to do the first part!

ZAEROS 5 Nov, 2012 @ 7:52am
Was worried when I couldnt get the cube through the door marked EXIT but then realised I did'nt need it.Some interesting and varied puzzles + looks like Half~Life,excellent..
Hyperspeed1313 4 Nov, 2012 @ 4:10pm
PLEASE MAKE A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO DO THIS!!!
tanger2b 4 Nov, 2012 @ 9:05am
I can tell a lot of detail went into this. The style is like I've never seen before. Of course there was a slight confusion about where to shoot, but it was still fun and pretty clever. The dam environment is amazing and the final scan room brought back some interesting memories. Keep it up!
WildWinni 4 Nov, 2012 @ 5:41am
This was a nice little headscratcher with an interesting feel, although it was hard at time to determine which were portal surfaces and which weren't. Nice use of space, looks more like a part of Halflife than Portal though. Needs to be gloomier :)
Kirst3n 4 Nov, 2012 @ 4:48am
