Perfect Information for The Long War 2 (LW2)

Unfortunately doesn't work with Long War of the Chosen. At least I narrowed down game crashing when clicking on reaper's "Throw knife" to this mod (maybe some other abilities too, I don't know). Also there's some noticeable performance degradation with it enabled.

I know the chances are slim, but hope someone ports it to LWOTC, since it looked quite useful in the videos.

@Vullcan, please help me! I am translating a Perfect Information mod for LWOTC and can not find strings for HUD "GRAZE" and "CRT.DMG". I cannot contact the author. Can you give me a hint?

@Vullcan The stats above the health bar (damage, accuracy rating, movement and health) don't seem to show up for me. I'm playing Long War 2 (Non-WOTC), have Gotcha Again.

Did I do something wrong? Are there any Conflicts that wouldn't show up?

Thanks. I'm not entirely sure about Extended Information's behaviour on Mac, which is why I fell back to Perfect Information. It does a good job itself.

Use my code as you need for creating compatible mod.Personally the best connection would be a merging mod WOTC - Extended Information! with math of this mod for LW2.

I was mistaken about the error, it was giving me that error because the mod launcher could see the old perfect information I had downloaded but not installed, it was conflicting with itself. still my geoscape lag got better after I unsubbed from this, (but I also unsubbed from tech tree because it was actually conflicting with LW2)

Personally using [WotC+Classic] TacticalUI KillCounter and this mod and Mod Config Menu Legacy without any problems and warnings/errors

Pretty sure this mod conflicts with MCM. Out of 300 mods my launcher is showing this mod, MCM, and a kill counter UI mod with a "duplicate ID" error, and ever since I installed this my geoscape runs at 5fps

i dont know how repair this. This is vanilla creator's bug. In general i changed hit/graze chance math for LW2 only.

I can confirm that your mod is showing crit damage incorrect.
Abilities like hunter instintics, lethal, center mass, combiner arms, the mod thinks they add crit damage to.

Yes math is correct. LW2 changes a lot in calculating hit chances and game rules. Standard High Cover is 45 Defense and low cover is 30 defense so a soldier with 60 aim can hit for full damage about 30% only. And more if you use Graze Band feature at 10% standard that aim is less accurate for full hit chance and better accurate for hit anything. In game you are a lot of grazing enemies instead hit them for full damage.

Are the values displayed properly ? I always wondered what were the hitchances for advent but to my horror i discovered that almost every second or third hit the Advent does is like 10-20% hit through solid cover. Yes they consintently hit my troops through cover with that puny number. And not only that i was baffled by overwatch hit chances, any non concealment OW shot is like 10/13/20 % hit chance. Is this legit ?

If it's not work, unsubscribe and subscribe, and just clear c:\Users\your login\Documents\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config\. Run game again. Work fine.

This mod works well. Just have finished play today with my mod and everywhing working well. I Watch people on Twitch.tv playing LW2 with this mod recently and all working well. Just don't use it with the vanilla Perfect Informaction (not for LW2), both checked on mod list could make conflicts.

@pascallef Slight difference in preview % of hacking is a mod vanilla bug that i coudn't change.

Started a new game...poof...doesn't work anymore. The only recent MODs that I've downloaded have been more or less cosmetic. I tried unsub'ing & resub'ing. Any ideas?

When you see Dodge instead of Graze and same when you see HIT but no HC.HIT then you use PI for Vanila Game propably.
For playing LW2 you should unsub Vanilla PI and use this mod accordingly.

Hey my mod seems to show Dodge% instead of Graze% when I'm considering taking a shot, unlike your screenshots. Am I missing something? Do I have to change a config file somewhere?

@Itchy install mod "Additional Icons". Delete folder "Config" in "My games" folder and restart the game.

It work!!! I just had to unsubcribe form Mod Config Menu for WOTC, now I can see my guys getting snipe with 1% crit by vipers :) . Thank for the help.

Sometime you will see a panel without any text. Its a bug from Vanilla Mod. You can adjust time for the info bar being displayed by using Mod Config Menu.

Ooops, i never suggested removing Graze.

Deleted a lot of posts. I'll start a discussion for the Shotbar. The character count limit is terrible in comments. Hopefully it'll be easier to discuss this way.

@Lord Yanaek As you suggested I removed Graze and Miss Chance from a Shotbar and left only HIT and CRIT bar separately. Now hit presentation seems much more readable. Thank for help.

After playing some time with the new version i think there's still something wrong with the shotbar. I have colors that shouldn't appear (some pinkish color) and the crit part seems to not show (or be very small). It's almost like several bars overlap (i'd bet Crit and Normal hit).

From a quick look at the code it looks like you are trying to put "full damage hit" (Hit+Crit) into the bar but the bar was never made to display 2 different values grouped, it really needs a value for Hit and a value for Crit as they are supposed to show with different colors. I can understand why you are grouping them in the text display (it takes some time to get used to but it's not in any way worse than the default) but the shot bar is a graphical representation of those and if you can't show a+b and a on such a bar, you can only show a+b alone (which would remove most of the usefulness of the bar) or a and b which in this case is normal hit (without crit) and crit.

Nothing but using both gives you a compatibility warning in Alternative MOD Launcher.
Sometimes load order is bad and changes for lw2 might not activated properly.

Can't edit. OK, i think i know what's wrong. You have commented GrimyHitWidth to replace is with GrimyFullDamageHitWidth but then in the code responsible for drawing the bar there is no reference to GrimyFullDamageHitWidth so the bar attempts to draw hit chance but finds no value and probably defaults to 0, as a result only dodge and crit are ever displayed in the bar.

There's probably no way to display hit and crit together in the bar apart from removing crit BTW, hit and crit should really be separate values in the bar and i think grouping them under a single value in main HUD should be an option like there's an option to display miss chance rather than hit chance. Personally if you go the grouping way i find it would make much more sense to display the chance to deal damage (hit+crit+graze) rather than just part of that chance.
