Very well done. Excellent puzzle

Semi-blindrun (don’t remember the first chamber, played the second only a couple days ago, sort of forgot how to solve it but it came back to me pretty fast)
Really nice remakes of these chambers! I don’t know what (if any) changes you made to the first, but I really like in the second how you removed the unnecessary portal surface yet still placed a hole in the glass. I LOVE how you elevated the light bridge ever so slightly to make it impossible to collide with the laser . You also completely deleted the bhop solution still present in the original. Spectacular job on both.

Upon checking the description the first chamber is apparently a remake of “Archipelago”, which I remembered being one of the errored downloads from Gig’s workshop and is thus no longer playable. I really have to praise you strongly for preserving such a good puzzle. It gave me the same feeling as the first time I played the more challenging of the first Valve official maps. It’s simple and relatively easy, but nevertheless clever and forces you to think outside the box a little. It of course is naturally much harder and thus better than any of Valve’s maps, but it gave me a good dose of nostalgia as the difficulty relative to my experience level was similar, nevertheless.

The stairs did glitch in that one but by then I pretty much had it figured out so I decided not to exploit it.

1st Chamber Difficulty: 3.75/10
1st Chamber Enjoyed: 7.5/10

2nd Chamber Difficulty: 2/10 this time (6.25 the first time)
2nd Chamber Enjoyed: 8.25/10

The first one was sursprisingly easy, the second one is kind of a classic; I once played it as part of the "introduction to the workshop" collection

The "music" in the second one is too loud, other than that good work which deserves a thumbs up :-)

Played this a long time ago, wasn't even able to finish the first chamber back then. Revisited it now and finally solved both! Glad I came back to it, it was really worth it. Thumbs up and favourited. :p2cube:

I've probably played this 3 times now and the 2nd chamber gets me every time. It's such a good puzzle & the hammer work only makes it more magnificent. Thanks for all the entertainment.
caesar 29 Nov, 2020 @ 4:49pm
in the second chamber you can get trapped on the target room side if you lose your portal back.
Mikeastro 8 Aug, 2020 @ 5:37am
Very nice hammer work with some good puzzles taken as source material. Big thumbs up

This is still a brilliant. The first one warms you up, but the second one is just excellent..

cochetmichel49 20 Dec, 2017 @ 5:34am
Ou la la !!! Aspirin, quickly. I finished, but quite 2 hours to solve this wonderfull map !!! Thanks
bullfrog 18 May, 2017 @ 10:17pm
Excellent puzzle. 2nd chamber took me ages - I haven't played @Gigopler's "Archipelago" and "Dovetail" yet, but will do. Thumbs up and added to Favourites :)
qrioso 24 Feb, 2017 @ 1:51pm
Very clever and well designed. This was very challenging and took me a couple of hours to beat it. Favorite. Thanks for this
Flup  [author] 26 Feb, 2016 @ 11:36am
@Polux @Spaceminnow Thanks for playing the map! Unfortunately I don't have a video walkthrough but josepezdj recorded his playthrough a while ago, I'd call his solution intended. You can watch the video here: https://youtu.be/pfNPHuTm1Yo?t=16m29s
Spaceminnow 26 Feb, 2016 @ 10:49am
Polux recently added this to his favorites. I decided to play it. The first puzzle and design is good :) The second puzzle I solved it what may be viewed as a map break...

Is this the solution?

Great puzzle/map.
Probably unintended : http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=632769858
tu7650x 2 Jan, 2016 @ 5:27pm
Ok I went back and solved it the way it was meant to be solved. Brilliant! The UN-intended solution I mentionned in my previous post (sorry about the typo) can be easily fixed by making the left half of the back wall next to the lens dispenser non-portalable. Cheers! :steamhappy:
tu7650x 2 Jan, 2016 @ 4:55pm
I solved the 2nd chamber but I was able to exit without having to lower the blocking panels and without disabling the fizzler. Probably an intended solution. I placed the light bridge next to the raised platform behind the panels and used the lens to jump onto and then jump onto the platform. Very nice map BTW Fluppy!!
Ultimaximus 4 Dec, 2015 @ 10:52pm
Excellent level, but the music in the second chamber is loud and very annoying
ChrisLP 4 Dec, 2015 @ 6:14pm
here's the video proof of what i've done and noone noticed my solution, i'm gonna make a speedrun too and post on youtube before you edit this map to prevent my way, this is a .dem file for those who can't handle it, put it under /porta2/portal2 folder and in console command type playdemo gig

ChrisLP 4 Dec, 2015 @ 10:36am
SECOND PART WITH ANNOYING INFINITE LOOP MUSIC!!!!! I passed the first part in an unintended way, didn't use the button or the light bridge that it enables.
ChrisLP 4 Dec, 2015 @ 10:28am
Ok, it deserved a thumbs up even not knowing the solution, solved the second part with disabling the panels blocking the way for the light bridge, i can say i didn't use the light bridge any close to the way it was meant to. I'm willing to record a demonstration, if you're interested.

Great logic puzzles. Nice design.
stormsend 3 May, 2015 @ 7:14am
Very good puzzle and the work on the design was great. Worked on the second chamber for a long time. When I saw it I was so pleased with myself and impressed with the solution. Favorite and many thanks.
Almisuifre 28 Mar, 2015 @ 5:13am
Neat and destroyed, well done !
Nobody No-One 23 Feb, 2015 @ 6:16pm
Ok, the first one was easy. I solved it quickly. But the second one, that was the best AHA! moment I have ever had. Beautiful design of puzzle Gig and Fluppy, liked and favorited.
dire.fcs 3 Feb, 2015 @ 4:20pm
Nice hammer version of those two GIG maps.
wildgoosespeeder 21 Jan, 2015 @ 6:04pm
Nice Hammer treatment of both Gig's original maps and doing each puzzle a little differently than his originals Fluppy but still keeping the core ideas intact. Can't really say that with Archipelago because when I attempted to play it, it gets a download error. I guess I'll favorite this one.

Now we have two Hammer-fied Gig chambers, the other one being Permabulation:

Extraordinary puzzle Portal 2
very gratifying find the solution.
Thanks for the creation !
Gecko 24 Jun, 2014 @ 6:24am
Really enjoyed this one - head-scratching indeed! Second chamber was a real puzzler with a little lateral thought required.
Blazier 13 May, 2014 @ 9:25pm
The second test was really neat. I enjoyed it a lot other than the precision cube placement required (pointing redirect cubes at receivers without a laser) .
Ale 29 Apr, 2014 @ 6:41am
I added your map to my new Anthology of community-made gems (an ongoing WIP). You can see it here: http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=192138122 . Thank you for making this map!
marnikema 15 Apr, 2014 @ 11:09am
Thank you guys, great job!!!

Nice combo...IMO nearly all of Gig's stuff is good and mind-bending.
Flup  [author] 30 Aug, 2013 @ 3:20pm
@Malfaction I'm glad to hear that you've enjoyed the map!
Malfaction 30 Aug, 2013 @ 2:58pm
Almost gave up on the second part! Glad I didn't! Thumbs up!

Great map, espeicially the second room, which is like an old fashioned Chinese puzzle box. Move this here, then there otherwise get stuck. Very well done!
15 Jun, 2013 @ 1:05am
looks difficulty :O but awsome!
kimist108 20 May, 2013 @ 2:04pm
Yea me!
zazaza 16 Feb, 2013 @ 9:33am
Top quality map! I enjoyed it a lot, had to come back again to solve the second part. Finding the solution was very entertaining. Congrats, great puzzle and pretty design! (Only thing I didn't like was the music in the second part, got on my nerves after a while..)
KennKong 8 Feb, 2013 @ 7:35pm
I've added this to my collection of Prettiest Maps . The puzzles were easy for me, but I've almost certainly played a prior version. I wasn't bored, that's for sure!
Ale 26 Jan, 2013 @ 3:01pm
Congratulations to both authors, great maps and great mashup!
1980 16 Jan, 2013 @ 12:02am
Oh my god!, I've finally solved it! Sorry that I didn't even read your just below comments, Mr. Fluppy. I almost ignored them actually lol. I challenged the test again today in a pc cafe, while my new computer system is prepared. I nearly cried "Aha(this would have surprised people around me then!) when there something came up to my head that ran down to my spine. I sincrely show my full honor to both of you Fluppy and Gig for making this best puzzle ever designed.
LoneWolf2056 15 Jan, 2013 @ 11:26am
Awesome puzzle, I love puzzles where you have to leave a portal in one place and carefully pick which portals to use. Excellent
Flup  [author] 13 Jan, 2013 @ 3:37am
@Bbeoggjay2 I admit that 2nd test is a little bit harder. But I don't want to ruin "aha" moment for you, so firstly I am going to give you a few hints. The first thing you should to is to think about getting to the exit. You can see that you will need to end up with both portals behind fizzler and platforms closed. Now you can start to think about the way how to achieve that. The most important concept for this map is to look from where you can redirect laser to catcher. You should find 3 spots. . I think these hints should help you. If you still don't know how to solve it, I recommend you to watch josepezdj's video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfNPHuTm1Yo I am going to make official walkthrough soon.
