i first thought it was hard because i was thinking instead of trying. but as soon as i just tried out my options, i realised the puzzle is almost all on rails except for a cube placement
once again easier than it looks. i dont think it deserves the mikeastro 6.5 difficulty
good puzzle tho

i had the right idea almost every time just couldn't figure out the order or in wich way to do it until now the logic is pretty clever i really liked solving this

great logic , and I think this puzzle is simpler than Cocycle.

@Test Chamber Junkie Thanks for playing and great work solving some tricky puzzles! I wonder what your impossible solution might have looked like :lunar2020thinkingtiger:
Test Chamber Junkie 27 Nov, 2022 @ 11:07pm
Took me some time to figure out what needed to be done. Would have been nice to see signage that indicated the cubes didn't auto respawn.. but that is pretty easy to figure out. Sadly, I came to that conclusion after chasing an impossible solution first. (Not sure if they had that in BEE back in 2018.. ) Either way

@BehindPortal Thanks for playing! Excellent work solving this one. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it :D

Great puzzle with portals and cubes management  Favorited !
Mikeastro  [author] 8 Aug, 2021 @ 2:31pm
@nerdlingnation Excellent work once again! My older ratings are sometimes a bit 'too high', so with my current 'system' I would probably put this one at 5/10 or 6/10, but that does not take away from the fact that it requires some definite proper thought to solve. I'm glad you liked it :D
nerdlingnation 8 Aug, 2021 @ 1:02pm
Great puzzle. Amazing how many steps were squeezed in there. Really 6.5/10? If that's the case then I guess I'll just have to accept the fact that I'm finally getting better at solving puzzles.
Joric 19 Nov, 2020 @ 10:28pm
@Mikeastro, the one that's not through portals.
Mikeastro  [author] 19 Nov, 2020 @ 2:28pm
@Joric Which angle are you referring to? And of course angled lasers through portals are not needed, you know me :]
Joric 19 Nov, 2020 @ 2:00pm
Also wall panels could be just one panel (I remember I tried different configurations for angled lasers but there are no angled lasers through portals in the intended solution, fortunately).
Joric 19 Nov, 2020 @ 1:57pm
Angle is bad though. Maybe make it less obscure and more logical.
Nobody No-One 18 Nov, 2020 @ 4:12pm
it seems you also fall into the second group of people in mikeastro's comment
Dark Rozen 18 Nov, 2020 @ 2:17pm
Fun easy map
Mikeastro  [author] 27 Dec, 2019 @ 12:31pm
@Spider_Dawg Thanks :] Indeed the people playing this map fall into two distinct groups; those who spend ages, and those who solve it fairly quickly. Just like @camerson1313 (sorry for not commenting earlier; I watched your interesting video soon after it came out but it seems that I forgot to comment, whoops!), you are part of that second group. I'm glad you liked it :D
Spider_Dawg 27 Dec, 2019 @ 9:48am
Great puzzle, actually took me much less time than most of your puzzles which proves to me that my brain "works" differently than everyone else's. I agree with @Leomievs about not wanting to lose the portal in the laser are but soon saw how to get around that. Happy Holidays!
camerson1313 19 Nov, 2019 @ 5:21pm
Very cool laser puzzle. We had to reflect on several moves for a while. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V-XMoOl0JA&t=1s

@kimist108 Excellent work cracking this one! It makes me happy to hear that you're enjoying my puzzles :cozycrashfish:

Came back to this one several times. Finally got to the exit. Having fun playing your maps.
Mikeastro  [author] 25 May, 2019 @ 9:09am
@Teo Haha I suppose at this rate there's only a few left, but you're right that those at the bottom of the list might still be quite tricky :]
Teo 25 May, 2019 @ 9:04am
Darn, I tried to burn through your entire best of playlist today but sadly I'll have to leave in an hour and based on other comments that may not be enough time :P For another day it seems
Mikeastro  [author] 5 May, 2019 @ 2:19pm
@Narkodes Thanks :D This is definitely my hardest pure laser puzzle, so excellent work solving it!
Narkodes 5 May, 2019 @ 2:07pm
Puh, this took me forever, I was so damn blind... Great puzzle!
可砸 27 Apr, 2019 @ 3:40am
Thanks hahah,It doesn't matter.Focus on the puzzle itself and enjoy it.:gr_cat:
Mikeastro  [author] 27 Apr, 2019 @ 3:02am
@可砸的六度双音 Excellent work solving this one! I'm really glad you liked it and your solution was fully intended. A bit annoying that you were having those error signs at some places. Might be worth republishing this map to see if that fixes it
可砸 27 Apr, 2019 @ 2:23am
Excellent puzzle!Really a magical map!I originally thought it would be done to bring the two cubes to the exit. Then I was dumbfounded……I believe that the last step is the most classic one.

@quatrus Very well! This is one of my most challenging puzzles
quatrus 12 Dec, 2018 @ 9:35am
Another excellent puzzle. As usual difficult to figure out what needs to be done, but then easy to execute - nothing ninja. Thanks for creating.
tapmage 26 Aug, 2018 @ 6:11pm
Oh yeah Vector. I started to play that one but I stopped cause it was hard (lol), was gonna try it again later but forgot.
Mikeastro  [author] 26 Aug, 2018 @ 4:38pm
@tapmage Very well done on solving this one! Given some older comments, I was led to conclude that this one was really one of my toughest maps, though I think ''Vector'' is now my hardest one.
Also, thanks a lot for maybe checking out my game - I'm really excited about it, as you can imagine :)
tapmage 26 Aug, 2018 @ 3:55pm
Your puzzle game looks interesting. May check it out. I used to like those kinds of games. Sokoban I mean. That is when it comes out. I clicked on some Wish List option in case I forget later.
tapmage 26 Aug, 2018 @ 3:50pm
Solved it! Took forever. I solved it just like the video in leomievs. Didn't know the difficulty was 8/10, so apparently it was one of the hardest ones. Not sure how I solved it but I did. Takes a lot of visualization and little steps, plus thinking three or four steps ahead (not sure I can think ahead beyond that much, lol).
Mikeastro  [author] 25 Jun, 2018 @ 3:45pm
@Joric Thanks! Well done :)
Joric 25 Jun, 2018 @ 3:19pm
That was really hard! But doable, thumb up from me.
Libbybapa 19 Jun, 2018 @ 8:02am
It's just my perspective from playing a lot of maps that were a lot harder. 8/10 doesn't leave a lot of room on the scale for tests that are harder. If a 35 minute blind run test is 8/10 then tests that take 2+ hours would be off the scale and I've played plenty of those.
Mikeastro  [author] 19 Jun, 2018 @ 1:40am
@Libbybapa Thanks a lot for the feedback and the video! The third button was more for symmetry's sake, but I guess it is indeed somewhat redundant. I'll be sure to check those boxes upon republishing :) Though I have heard from others that they found this map really quite challenging (admittedly more so than I had anticipated), so since you think it's more like a 5 or 6 probably means you are not aware of your own power :P
Libbybapa 18 Jun, 2018 @ 9:00pm
Very good map. Here's my blind run. https://youtu.be/YHF2vt16Uy4 Sorry for the no-clipping, I just hate repeating steps I got right just because my aim was slightly off. No need for 3 buttons in the exit room. One of them can do double duty and deactivate the fizzler to the laser room. When you republish with a newer version of BEE it would be worthwhile to add the targeting laser option (checkbox on items tab in style/items properties palette) and the forgiving laser fields. I think that 8/10 is overstating the difficulty. I'd say 5 or 6/10 but there's nothing wrong with that. Thumbs up!
Mikeastro  [author] 17 Jun, 2018 @ 4:50pm
@Nobody No-One Please forgive me my misspelling your name in my last comment, but I just got the latest version of BEEMod and it would indeed seem that this issue has been solved :) I will republish the affected maps someday soon (and also, the Portal Stories: Mel tracks finally seem to be playing properly, which for some reason didn't work for me before, to my great dissatisfaction, but I'm thrilled to be using those in future maps - not that this probably interests you even in the slightest, but I'm just excited :D)
Mikeastro  [author] 17 Jun, 2018 @ 10:24am
@Nonody No-One I'm happy to hear that you liked it! Sorry about the BEEMod issues - I haven't updated my BEEMod in quite some time. I'll try it and hope that it improves some stuff :)
Nobody No-One 17 Jun, 2018 @ 10:04am
I did have the rather annoying laser cube glitch where I had to nudge them to be able to pick them up but I think that's just a BEEMod thing. I also had the ERROR messages for the laserfields which may have been fixed on the newest BEEMod but I'm not sure.
Nobody No-One 17 Jun, 2018 @ 10:03am
Ha, I got myself into a situation where one cube was in the room with the exit door, on the button that turns off the fizzler, the laser relay that was an exit condition was activated, and I was with the second cube in the same area as the laser relay. In other words, I was basically done if I just moved the cubes a bit. But I didn't realize that and I spent a really long time trying to figure out what to do next. I thought there would be more to the puzzle e.g. using the non-cube button a second time with the laser cube pointed at a different angle . Anyway eventually I brought both cubes into the room with the exit door, noticed that one of the conditions was already fulfilled, and finally figured out I had been basically done for probably 10 or 15 minutes.

Anyway, excellent laser puzzle! Thumbs up/favorited.

@bullfrog Thank you very much! Hilarious comment :'D
bullfrog 14 Jun, 2018 @ 11:29pm
Really clever logic puzzle. I’d like to say that I didn’t get completely stumped and I didn’t take a peek at the walkthrough twice, but I like my nose the length it is! The first place was just me being plain stupid; the second place, I’d already tried that set up, but then did the wrong next step and therefore dismissed it! I think I’ll play a couple of front page maps now, just to make me feel better and give my brain a rest.
Mikeastro  [author] 12 Jun, 2018 @ 4:04am
Thank you both! This is definitely one of my trickiest maps :)
