looks like a random easy test at first, but it was a good test !

Thank u. I'm glad u enjoyed :) it was for sure the intented solution
bullfrog 23 Feb, 2018 @ 1:01pm
Went back and found the secret room @sillymel referred to and managed not to get trapped :)
bullfrog 23 Feb, 2018 @ 12:12pm
Excellent logic puzzle. I didn’t use any glitches and I only angle the laser through the portal at 90 degrees; so hopefully what I did was the intended method
VRerse 16 Jun, 2017 @ 12:00am
@sillymel Where is the room?
sillymel 17 Sep, 2016 @ 7:09am
I found a room with Atlas and Peabody. Unfortunately, it's extremely easy to get trapped in that room.

Great work. HEADSMACK lol. How to destroy the cube and be on the right side of the fizzler had me thinking for a bit.
7uk454n 28 Nov, 2014 @ 9:54am
wow this one was difficult. i did it a stupid differently LOL I transfered the button cube past the grill then i pointed it through a portal inside the room where you make the portal link and i carried the cube while pointing at that portal which points the laser to deactivate the grill to the first room and i made it inside the room without touching the grill but destroyed the cube. and then the final step was the same [spoiler/]... lol weird way but i solved it like an idiot

Pay attention to the angle that forms if you were to send the laser to the relay and catcher of the exit door. Extend the line opposite the direction the laser would point to normally and you will find that the angled laser can go into the fizzled off room you can't get the laser cube out of. Good puzzle!

Very good and quite challenging, I really liked the clever combination of laser puzzles!
If you find the time, I invite you to visit my workshop and check out my new maps.

Bravo! That chamber was very well-thought-out.
YUKI_67 28 Jul, 2013 @ 10:19am
Very nice puzzle ! At the beginning we wonder why we have the right to open the Fizzler left. This map is in my favorites !
If you want to try, I created maps too hard :

I'm ashamed to admit, but I struggled with this stage for way too long. I knew what the ultimate set up would look like. It was getting there that I struggled with. But after walking away from it, I came back and solved it within 5 minutes. I guess I was just burnt out for a while there.

Very good puzzle. My only real complaint would be the angles you went with. That cube was mighty close to the fizzler by the end.

Nice !

Very nice!

I posted a walkthrough video to Youtube. Here is the link: http://youtu.be/mcXICkbEevE

This should go without saying, but... SPOILERS.

Nice five minute map. :-)
Mitch McWiggins 14 Apr, 2013 @ 2:57pm
Wow! Very challenging, very fun map. Took me a while, finally figured it out! Love it.
Also, I read some comments, and it looks like some people struggled to find a solution. This doesn't surprise me, because, like I said, this was a clever challenge. Anyway: yes, there is a solution without portal bumping.

Really good. Thanks!

@Icingdeath
Listen... peaople can told you that there's no mistake and you don't have to take second cube... ;P
Mystic Exarch 12 Apr, 2013 @ 2:27pm
With only once cube, you can either place it on the square button or redirect the lazer to power the two receptacles. You can't do both, they're mutally exclusive. That means we need a way to bend the lazer. The only two ways are either with portals, or with a second cube. Since the end of the lazer beam is a non-portable surface, that means our only option is a cube. And, the only cube is one we cannot reach.

Thank you!!!

@l1zardr0ckets
Wow really awesome music :D
thanks for playing

@Icingdeath
thanks :)
And believe me that you don't have to take the cube from the right side room to pass the test.
Mystic Exarch 11 Apr, 2013 @ 11:12pm
great attempt. i like the concept you're going for though, lazers can go where we can't.
I really think this test is worth reforming because of that, unlike most of these tests you find on here that just kill the player or some nonsense.

The error is that the lazer reciever in the room on the left side (if you're looking in from the first room) is keyed to the wrong barrier. Edit it so it lowers the barrier for the right hand side room, then we're in buissness. If you don't fix that, players can't grab the cube from the right hand room since there is no way for the barriers to lower.

awesome map
toncica 8 Apr, 2013 @ 3:01pm
Btw, when I revisited the test I did it slightly differently. Maybe that's the true intended solution? http://youtu.be/DHU7zhygrbo
KodenejmBerni  [author] 8 Apr, 2013 @ 2:39pm
By "repair/accepted" I mean that valve should fix that :) but doesn't matter I'll repair it soon...
toncica 8 Apr, 2013 @ 2:25pm
Well, that's exactly what I was trying to tell you, that glitches should be fixed instead of accepted. Here it's easy to fix. I don't know why you tried it on the wall, that doesn't make sense to me. Only on the floor you can bypass the fizzlers. But it's your call. Be prepared that a lot of people will accept the invitation and do this instead of finding the intended solution. On TWP it's the first comment your map got, here it's also mentioned by Lpfreaky in the first comment.
KodenejmBerni  [author] 8 Apr, 2013 @ 1:52pm
I've tried and it works next to the fizzler on the wall too... It's a little strange that glitches are testing elements for someone... I won't go this way I thinkt it's' BAD. I will just write in the description next time that this map doesn't use any of glitches and any other things. That should be ok, don't you think? ;)
My mind, the glitches should be repaired instead of accepted.
toncica 8 Apr, 2013 @ 12:19pm
Portal bumping only works on plain uninterrupted surfaces (glass does not count), so in this case it's really just the floor.
KodenejmBerni  [author] 8 Apr, 2013 @ 11:48am
Not only floor... :/ all the wall and celling around them, so I'm not sure It's good to do this. It just destroys the test chamber view and make it looks strange, but thanks for your opinion I'll have to use it in the next test :)
toncica 8 Apr, 2013 @ 11:27am
In this case it's very simple, make the floor under the fizzlers not portalable, done.
KodenejmBerni  [author] 8 Apr, 2013 @ 11:00am
I don't know how to remove that :/ but I think everyone who plays in portal doesn't want to use the glitches in playing through... it's just a fraud, which the player decides to use.
toncica 8 Apr, 2013 @ 10:17am
Then why don't you remove the portal bumping issues? I find that very distracting since it is the most obvious of all glitches. Almost like having an unconnected exit staying open which you have to ignore all the time while trying to focus on the puzzle.
Clever and fun puzzle. Laser puzzles aren't my favorite but this one was really nice. Here is my blind run: http://youtu.be/Ww7ymUeMl0k
KodenejmBerni  [author] 8 Apr, 2013 @ 7:04am
@Lpfreaky90
of course, personally I think that portalbumping is a glitch and fault from the side of engine :)
Requiemsoul 7 Apr, 2013 @ 12:32pm
wow! very, very clever puzzle!. Congratulations.
🍪 Anna 7 Apr, 2013 @ 11:20am
is this even possible without portalbumping?
I can see the pannels; I tried all laser catchers and all combinations but I can't seem to be able to open it.
