Well done solving the 2nd room seemingly quickly as well, it can definitely be deceiving! And yeah, the piston platform in the 2nd room is only useful because it prevents a trapping situation if you leave the cube up there and clear your portals while being down there. It also reinforces the "twin" idea, I guess.
SpielSatzFail 29 Aug, 2023 @ 6:15pm
Must be my lucky day, got through both of them quite fast - hooray! I usually suck at laser puzzles... I think it was 50 percent good thinking and the other half just fell into my lap :steamhappy:
Both siblings flowed nicely for me; thumbs up :steamthumbsup:

P.S. I'm glad the use of the elevator platforms was clarified early on in the comments, since the same thing occured to me and I was wondering if I did something wrong with either using or NOT using it/them ;-)

@Mr Fab
Oh yes, this one can be surprisingly tough. Thanks!
Mr Fab 28 Nov, 2021 @ 2:15am
So small and so tricky, I like it ! :steamthumbsup:

@kromwell
Yep, this puzzle can indeed be deceivingly tricky. Well done solving it!
kromwell 23 Mar, 2021 @ 7:17pm
Great. Simple, but takes lots of thinking.

@MuffinMario
Thanks a lot! Well done staying with it and solving it, it's definitely not a trivial puzzle!
MuffinMario 23 Jan, 2021 @ 9:46am
I spent like an hour on the second part yesterday and I couldn't get it working. Today I have tried it again and I actually tried to plan ahead instead of just mindlessly trial and erroring my way out of it, absolutely love the ingenuity that go into these maps :winter2019happyyul:

@Spider_Dawg
Thank you, and good job solving it! If you haven't, I recommend you check out the Hammer remake linked in the description :)
Spider_Dawg 20 Dec, 2020 @ 2:21pm
Very enjoyable puzzle, took a lot of thinking and even more trial and error. Nice and small, without being too simple to solve.

@bullfrog
Thanks for replaying this one, I'm glad you still liked it! And don't worry, I don't mind long comments at all ;)

I’m going through my list of favourite puzzles, from oldest to latest. I think this is the first map of yours that I played. It’s still an excellent puzzle - especially the second one - and it definitely deserves to remain in my list. I’m sure there are quite a few of yours in my list, so you’ll be hearing more from me over the coming, however long it takes, but I try to be less verbose next time ;)

@lfairban
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed the logic here!

Great pair of chambers. Now I have had my mental workout for the week. No trick moves, just logic. I am impressed.

Hey, I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing and leaving a comment :)
Teo 4 Jan, 2020 @ 11:11am
Wonderful map; this was the oldest map in my queue, meaning it's been there since 2018 :P Great job maximizing moves in that second room
Leo  [author] 19 Sep, 2019 @ 6:44am
@BehindPortal
Yep, this one really is a pure laser puzzle. It's surprising that you found room 2 easier than room 1! I think you're the first person to say that. Thanks for playing!
BehindPortal 19 Sep, 2019 @ 2:01am
clever laser puzzle. master practise for anyone who want to learn laser mechanic. first room was bit time taking for me. surprisingly second room was easy for me. looking forward for more of this kinda laser puzzle. ofcourse :p2blue:fav:p2cube::p2cube::p2orange:

not technically a blind run unfortunately, i made a dumb mistake while recording, great map tho
jp 27 Mar, 2019 @ 5:55am
J'adore les maps où le design crée le puzzle. Ici un environnement quasi symétrique arrive à te balader dans tous les sens pendant une heure! c'est étonnant... :)
Leo  [author] 27 Mar, 2019 @ 3:34am
Merci, @jp ! Pour avoir joué, et pour le favori !
Actually the solution I wanted to implement was different, and I couldn't get it to work. While experimenting with the design, this sequence of move hit me and I added that small portion of grating (not present in room 1) to make it possible. So I guess it got a bit lucky.
P-S : sympa le franglais :)
jp 26 Mar, 2019 @ 4:40pm
Wow! That's a wonderfull puzzle!
Took me quite a long time on the second room. Partly because, for a while, I didn't even notice the extra receiver that you added (it was not in room 1) :steamhappy:
The solution is such a precise sequence of moves; I wonder how you conceived this :)
Thumb up et un fav de plus pour ta collection, ce ne sera pas le dernier...
Leo  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 1:59pm
@Narkodes
Haha the solution is indeed quite subtle. Thanks a lot for playing and leaving a comment!
Narkodes 8 Feb, 2019 @ 8:13am
The second room is really clever. It took me a while to figure out what I had to do. It's crazy how many steps you can do without giving up the "laser portal" for such a long time. Big thumbs up!

Thanks again for the video Nock, glad you enjoyed it overall!

Excellent map indeed!
Leo  [author] 6 Sep, 2018 @ 2:35am
The solution is indeed far from obvious, especially that of the 2nd room! Thanks for playing, and congrats on solving it!
jandlml 5 Sep, 2018 @ 6:13pm
i was stuck for a long time on this one. excellent map!! faved!
Leo  [author] 5 Sep, 2018 @ 3:00am
Merci du compliment, et merci d'avoir joué :)
kwinten 5 Sep, 2018 @ 1:02am
très bonne salle de test logique, bravo !
Leo  [author] 21 Aug, 2018 @ 11:01am
I see, that makes sense. Fortunately that also means it's kind of random and rare, so I suppose you have to be either very lucky or very patient for that to happen. Thanks for your insight ;)
Nobody No-One 21 Aug, 2018 @ 9:26am
I think the reason the second screenshot can happen is because Valve is lazy about calculating whether a portal can be placed, and the game only checks certain points. If all of those points are on portalable surfaces, the portal is placed, even if the rest of the portal is on black surfaces.
Leo  [author] 9 Aug, 2018 @ 2:38pm
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Initially there were portalable surfaces all around the laser relay, but there was an unintended solution that used what you did in the 1st screenshot. Without the surfaces I removed, you can no longer solve it that way. Unless you do like in your 2nd screenshot I suppose... that's really weird by the way!
Čolibri 9 Aug, 2018 @ 1:33pm
Not very easy puzzle, and even rather tough the second one! Nevertheless I tried shady things https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1470867159 ,
and I even found a new Peti editor glitch https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1470868769

Amazingly clever and cunning! Very well done for this alternative solution, I thought this one of all my maps would be really hard to break, but you proved me wrong!

Leo  [author] 3 Jul, 2018 @ 12:01pm
Thank you for the video! It was nice to see the moment when the solution hit your mind in the 1st room, and in the 2nd it was impressive to see all the ideas you had! Well done!

Great map! I enjoyed versions of the puzzle; the second one had me going for quite a while. My blind run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlIBZ-krFeM

The first puzzle is really very good, the second is just outstanding – thumbs up and added to favourites.

@Libbybapa
Indeed! Thanks for pointing that out, and thank you for playing.
Nobody No-One 30 Jun, 2018 @ 9:19pm
Good point.
Libbybapa 30 Jun, 2018 @ 9:07pm
Very nice puzzle. I would point out that the piston platform is necessary in both rooms for anti-trapping if someone leaves the cube on the upper level and loses their portals. Good work.
