After seeing hub's video, I guess my cube throwing at a portal in the ceiling while bouncing on repulsion gel was kind of a stupid way to get the cube. But in the end I did manage to reach the exit :) https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2981086148

Really cool gel puzzle; that maneuver you just mention below is really awesome, I found it by accident after many failed attemps using other manuevers to jump to those buttons, the exit is really clever, well done.

You are amazing! One of the very few who found the intended technique propulsion + small piece of repulsion , although you are correct...you used the technique much more than I saw possible :-) Thanks very much for the video.

Tripping the laser reciever to get the lightbridge is a flaw in my logic system which I didn't test, I may correct that in hammer.

I'd say that's a good thing, the only way a test could be challenging once you know what to do is if it's hard to execute. About the "bad art design", could you clarify? I'll admit it isn't the best design but considering it's constrained to a strict set of rules to prevent bypasses and is only my 7th hammer map I don't think it's that bad, consider trying my second Geltastic map if you want better "art".

The test really isn't that hard once you know the order of things (as well as the right tricks of course). However, the bad art design quickly makes things confusing.

Fantastic puzzle. With everything in sight from the start and clearly marked. You know all the time what must be accomplished. Knowing and doing are different though. Really tough one. I've had it in my queue for over a month and played it regular but today it just gelled (pun intended). I'm gonna favorite it. Keep making these great maps. See ya round the workshop.

I'm sorry you didn't like it. I understand what you mean by non-intuitive and have already mentioned in the description "out-of-the-box thinking required". I don't understand what you mean by "hit-and-miss", it should be possible to solve first go? You can use the slanted panels to get the lower flip panel button

Way too complicated. The map relies on some hit-and-miss and very non-intuitive ideas (like making the lightbridge covered the bouncy gel from upside-down actually makes him bouncy from top). Neat idea, with the slanted panels, too bad you don't actually use them - it woul be great to be able to activate the first lightbridge that way, since the original way is not the most obvious way.

My mistake, I meant picking up the first light bridge.
Looks like I have a lot of work in front of me trying to learn the Hammer editor tool.
I've watched a few tutorial on youtube but its confusing to me.

I'll assume you meant the lightbridge, I'm fairly sure there aren't any tractor beams in this map...

I use Hammer (as suggested by the title), the advantage being visuals and features not found in the peti, however it takes longer to make maps (to make them look good)

Wow, very good chamber, and the puzzles to solving were fun.
The tricky part for me was getting to the button to activate the first tractor beam, that was a challenge, after that everything else fell right into place for me.
What do you used to make these custom visuals in your maps Prototype?

@DeathWish808 Thanks for the commentary video, you did most as intended (including the end) your jump to get the laser button isn't exactly intended (the intended way involves the orange gel) but I'm allowing a couple of solutions for that one. The way you got to the lightbridge button isn't intended, both you and Innocentive used that solution so I'm considering preventing that. Glad you like the map and the updates ;)

A little late, but I wasn't really doing commentary back when I first played it and wasn't recording as much as I have been. I decided to do another run through... I feel like I did maybe a couple things that were unintentional (maybe... definitely different than I remember anyway) and got to the exit. So, I'm satisifed with my solution. ;-)

Thanks for playing, your video is very close to the intended solution but slightly more difficult. You don't need to slow down the gel, you can bounce on the platform where the button is and place a portal under you so you hit the blue gel on the underside of the ledge Your way to get the lightbridge button is unique, but similar to the intended way and I consider it harder so I'm not going to change anything. Thanks for the video ;)

It took me a couple of tries to finish this chamber. It is a very well built around bounce and speed gel! I made a video of how I (finally) made it to the exit .

The only thing close to a complaint concerns the part where you need to wait until the blue gel lost enough momentum so that you can paint floor tiles that you can't paint otherwise ... or did I overlook the intended way to do that?

@Nube52 I assume your trying to get to the flip panel button: if you bounce off the angled tile and strafe you can make it. You can also run (through a portal) and bounce off the square under the blue gel dropper straight across the room.

@lord_dhaf You are correct, that is a shortcut...still thinking on how to prevent it.

Hello Prototype - so my second attempt in as many months and got much further than before. Got reflection cube out of semi caged room that was fun and got orange Gel activated that was fun too. Where it (orange gel) splashed made me notice companion cube all alone down there how cute. But that's as far as I got. I can't seem to get up to upper switches even though I got blue gel one 1 angled tile in corner and a gel run at it via portal I'm just going boing nowhwere. Indeed this is challengenging level . Maybe leave me a clue and I'll try another time.

Very hard chamber indeed, but it felt good to walk throgh that exit! Thumb up for a good challenge!
Also, I might have found a shortcut. I did not need to turn on the vertical light bridge. When I was on the horizontal light bridge, I jumped down and flipped tha panel under the exit. Then I painted it blue and also the under side of the light bridge. Then I used the same tecnique to gain momentum as I used to reach the gel button, and jumped right up to the exit room.

It's a very difficult one (untill the last second - lol) I don't know what to say about this. On the way, i lost some fun and wanted to solve it by pride -i guess-. Anyway, it's a good puzzle, well balance. This last version is better than the other one. I respect the fact that you dare put a certain degree of difficulty in it. But, the fact is, it's not a medium/hard map, it's an hard one. Thanks and again nice job.

Hi Prototype, I was able to remove and redownload your puzzle. I finished it, but I skipped using the laser, I was able to use a combination of speed and bounce gel to bounce from the light bridge to the exit.

I've watched both your demos and I'm sorry you had trouble. Your summary of the buttons at the end of the second demo is nearly perfect...except it is missing the one button you need to activate first. the blue gel button You have performed the action needed to get to the button in your demo it's just a matter of applying it in the right place. Here is a hint if your still stuck: it requires a fling

And the comments are helpful, I'm aware that the laser reciever antline is quite confusing but I don't know of a way to make it easier to understand. It's (not) logic controlling the vertical lightbridge. When the button is pressed the vertical lightbridge comes on, and when the reciever is tripped the lightbridge turns off.

I quit after about 18 minutes of play. Dem files contain a lot of comments, if that's worth anything. Good job on making a nice looking map.

put blue gel on the underside of ledge two squares up with a button on top (with portal surfaces underneath), put a portal under it, put blue gel all over the "track" in the corner (underneath the button), bounce on that and as your bouncing put the other portal under you, you'll bounce off the roof (higher), then just bounce over and get the button This map is hard, and doesn't get any easier, perhaps try a medium one?

Turning on the speed gel doesn't involve that part of the chamber. It requires a trick that uses bounce gel to gain extra height, I can't say much more without giving it away.

Alright, I have retrieved the reflector cube and started the gel flow, but I can't find a way to hit the button and start the speed gel flow. I think it might have to do with the "bounce chamber" you get the cube from, am I on the right track?

Awesome map. Great use of gel and light bridge. Would rank as hard for a beginner to get that 3rd button. Very creative.

I've managed to get the cube, start the gel flow, and flip the floor panel. It seems obvious to me the next step is the light bridge cause I can't see the other panel helping me at this stage. I've been flying all over the place except where I need to go. I'm still searching my brain for more options but I'm going to put it down for a few and think for a while. Good puzzle.

Awesome! Yeah, I knew what those panels were there for, but I couldn't help trying to abuse them. Although that's sort of harder than the regular way, but still more fun. And, yeah, no reason to change it. Will process this some more as I lie in bed shaking my fist at you. lol.

I'm glad I've created a challenge for you :) And you're correct, the "portal_placement_helper" on the flip panel is to prevent sneaky lightbridge tricks. See if this small hint helps: there's only one portal you could come out of that would get you close to the button The panels on the wall were added for realisim in the "under-construction" theme, and I only found out after I put them there that they could be used to get the button. (it's not the intended way, but I'm not going to prevent it)

Got blue gel going, r-cube, speed gel, bottom flip panel and the next obvious step is to activate the vertical light bridge, but it's not clicking for me right now. I can see that once I have that then the upper flip panel will be a non-issue, but the laser p-button is going to be another issue. It wouldn't be an issue at all if you didn't have the portal magnet on the floor flip panel. I guessing that's to prevent you from flipping the light bridge over and easily getting to the other laser button. I was able to get to the p-button connected to the bottom flip panel 3 different ways. The most interesting one (and my favorite) was using the panels leaning on the wall. I might need a clue on that bridge button though, if you can without giving it away.

Wow, the way I reached the pedestal button linked to the first light bridge was really awesome, the way I reached the one linked to the laser was a bit ninja-like, and I was about to kill myself after failing again and again to perform the last move XD But that was a fun map ;) Really challenging, great job :p
