Guys, it still works and the criteria are
1000 Prestige
be an adult
and have 750+ gold.

I'm using it with HIP and EMF as well by the way!

Byzaboo, you mean for the stat values? I don't have that version anymore sorry! You can always edit the values manually if you like. I had a backup of it on dropbox but they decided it was a good idea to delete user's files for inactivity.

Nay, never caused me any issues and there is no code preventing it.

This mod took me over 60 hours from start to finish including code, artwork, troubleshooting and play testing.

You're free to add Scimitars if you like. All my code is open to view and expand on. There is no version for armor either.

Beyond updating my mods to work on the latest CK2 releases, I have no plans to continue or expand any CK2 mods or projects.

I plan to focus fully on CK3 modding when it releases.

Rule 1, while not forbidden they ask that you don't do it. That's enough for me to not want to go through the effort of uploading it elsewhere. Since I am mostly out of modding until CK3 I do not plan on adding this or any other of my mods to another platform that I have to support. Sorry!

@Velaryon, sorry for the late response but I literally have no idea what you're on about. There are loads of modders that provide direct links either to an external source for a mod download OR to a paradox forum where they have the mod posted with a link for download. Heck there are even entire teams that do total overhauls with their own forums. So that makes literally no sense, but no worries.

Someone else would need to confirm that, I do not use HIP. I can't think of a reason for it to conflict though.

Hi. I dont think this works anymore. The option shows up but when making the sword nothing is added to inventory.

I intentionally didn't do this because if someone wants two identical swords I don't want them to mysteriously vanish. That would get reported as a bug and would be a costly mistake by the user since the event technically won't prevent you from making duplicates. With the stacking = no it would allow the event to add the sword but the game would simply make the new addition vanish. I recommend editing the file offline for your own playthroughs if you prefer that setting enabled. I appreciate the suggestions though and hope you're still enjoying this mod.

Just a typo for your mod..
Because I see kings and Emperors with 2 and 3 of the same Swords, it would be best adding the "stacking = no" modifier, wouldn't you agree?

Please use bug reports to report any issues, also, include what your prestige + gold + other items are. It is impossible for me to know why the decision doesn't show up with literally zero details.

Also, confirm that the mod is installed by using console and typing event diysword.1

If it says not found than the mod isn't installed. If it is found, then check your requirements.

Please use the Bug reports for any additional troubleshooting or issues.

Update:

+5 personal combat buff to all PC choices -> It is a sword after all. New max personal combat rating is +20 up from +15. (If you choose both PC buffs you will have 20, if you choose the first one you'll have +15, and only the 2nd one you'll have +10)

Increased cost from 750 -> 1000 and prestige from 1000 -> 4500. This is to account for the new buffs, also, this should prevent the issues with AI creating them too easily and flooding the world with them. No more plebs with these swords.

They weren’t gotten from conquest, it lists who made them and it was all the same family, father after son.

I mean, they are just really high quality swords, why couldn't 4 be created in 28 years?
I went back and checked my code and its already only possible to create one per lifetime per individual, so the AI did get 3 swords from conquest, what a bad ass they must be. Other than limiting to one person there isn't anything I can change. Sorry! You can edit the files for your personal use though if you want additional tweaks.

Fair enough, but you definitely need to reduce how easy they are to make, because in my example the swords were made in 897, 913, 922, and 925. Which is way to frequent I think.

Nothing I can do about duplicates, its just how artifacts work with events in CK2. (The idea is that you rename them after creating them, AI cannot rename artifacts so they are the standard names) The odds of having two of the same sword from random is 1/16 though so its not super common. I just have to make the AI create the swords less that should prevent having too many in circulation other than that there isn't anything I can do.

I think they’re all made by different people, but they make it and pass it down and then the new guy makes one. I’m doing a test right now, having started in 867 it is now 930, and one AI has 4 swords, including two dragonbanes.

That seems to be a product of lowering the requirements. I'll make a flag that prevents AI from making more than one.

Possibly one of the top three mods when it comes to artifacts. If only it was a bundle that included armor and crown jewels...

UPDATE: I have lowered the Prestige cost to 1000 and removed the piety requirement. This should make these much easier to acquire with cost being the major factor.

Please use the Bug Reports forum for troubleshooting and include actual information that will help troubleshoot.

*Post your prestige, piety, and gold etc in the troubleshooting forum. Also, test the mod is working by using console to run event diysword.1, if you cannot provide that information then there is no way I can assist you.

@Velaryon yeah your right but i am playing reformed germanic norse so maybe 75% of my armies are light and heavy infantry so the axe is a lot better than so i was just a bit dissapointed but i made a second sword and that one i use during peace time because of steward
