I definitely solved it incorrectly: https://youtu.be/Eor_qtj13Oc

Dunno how I never downloaded this one. Played all your old maps except this. Concept is neat, execution is somewhat tricky. There’s definitely exploits in this chamber and I don’t even know if I did the end right - felt a little cheesy. Somewhat unique but certain techniques feel very inspired by BEN 77’s Underground series. I think the roomy vibe fits this chamber quite well, although the location of the second cube could be clearer. Also not too sure what the extra floor portal surface was for - you can go through the water/blue gel just fine.

It’d be cool to see a proper version of this or something like it see the light of day sometime.

Oh yes, Spider_Dawgs solution seems intended. Too bad the "grab the cube in mid air" maneuver is a not too hard to pull off alternative.
The other slight exploit is that you don't need the first (one panel) ceiling bounce since you can paint the floor blue, as it can also be seen in Spider_Dawgs video, therefor you already have two panels of height.

Tricky ending. Could not get the gel to splash the cube, so just grabbed it on the fly. Thanks for your work!

Well, I didn't solve it exactly like Spider_Dawg, but I still reached the exit, so I'm happy as a clam. Nice challenge.

I believe I've found the intended solution: https://youtu.be/7xgE-V9yus4

That last move was kind of tricky.

What I did was carefully place the laser redirection cube at the edge of the repulsion gel-coated surface and then direct more gel toward it from the exit platform. After a short wait the cube got painted and the exit opened. If that wasn't the intended solution, you could prevent it by obstructing access to the surface under the gel dispenser from the exit platform.

I think there are some problems in this map ,I put a portal down that blue gel ,and do the three bounce same way ,but this finally solve this chamber. There is a room wasn't used

@Fumbly Bumbly I may well revisit it, yeah - I did revisit the idea in my map "Terminus" but that one's also a bit messy (a lot of my very old maps are) but I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway.

Cool concepts. I can see why it's in beta though, things feel a bit mashed together and unpolished. Do you plan on revisiting this to finish it? Sometimes I try and fix up my older chambers but they generally just don't turn out right so I understand if you think it's better to just let it remain as it is.
Demon Arisen  [author] 24 Feb, 2017 @ 2:00pm
@libbybapa No it's not intended - I think I remember that happening to me. This is only a Beta map though, it's just testing an idea :P

when the end works out it's a really good puzzle.

Great puzzle. I agree with @jandlml below: "little tricky there at the end"

really nice puzzle, little tricky there at the end

I tried to fling myself together with the blue gel, but the cube did not bounce even though as far as I can see it safely sit on top a pile of blue gel. I don't know if it's a bug, otherwise I can only try to grab the cube midflight to the exit

To prevent skipping piston platform, you should raise plastic wall near stairs. Interesting map anyway.
wildgoosespeeder 25 Dec, 2014 @ 5:41pm
I can skip the piston platform to the area it can reach with bounce gel! Also, am I to grab the laser cube mid-flight to the exit ? I ask because I see no other way and it is tricky to grab it.

This chamber reminds me of BEN 77's map:

Good job!

Nicely done again!

Pretty straight -forward map. Fun and well done.
Demon Arisen  [author] 14 Oct, 2013 @ 2:40pm
@Toothless. Yeah, that's very true about gels...
Hmm, I really didn't mean to steal ideas, maybe what I thought of as "a really good idea" was actually your good idea. :P
Sorry, must have used them inadvertently... In a week or so I'll be making another few chambers, probably based on excursion funnels...
Possible titles, just to give you a teaser:
Traction
Attraction
Distraction
Contraction
Retraction

Hopefully they'll be good. :)

I don't mind people using ideas from my chambers to create their own, so don't worry about that. I haven't found any exploits. The way I solved it seems like the intended way. I used everything in the map. Difficulty-wise it was fine for me. Still, try to get a few more people playing this map as they might be able to find something. Gels can be easily abused.
Demon Arisen  [author] 9 Oct, 2013 @ 5:59am
Thanks, Toothless! :)
Argh, didn't realise this involved your ideas, sorry about that, I must have subconsciously put them in without noticing. :) Do tell me if I've stolen anything directly, because if I have I'll tweak it.
Is there anything wrong with it, exploits, difficulty, simplicity, situations where you can get stuck, etc?
Hazellius 7 Oct, 2013 @ 12:47am
This map feels like a combination of two of my tests with some of your stuff thrown in here and there. It seems to work out very well. Great chamber as always :)
