I have spent a lot of time on detailing these maps in Hammer Editor. ;)
You might just have to change the order of execution of these steps, to get it done. =)
We got very close, the exit door is open. But we can't get to the exit door with both cubes occupied on buttons and one person's portals needed to stay on the lasers. Argh! So close.

No, you don't have to do it this way. I would never plan a puzzle like this.
But I know exactly when and why you did it, because I know that solution aswell.
There is another way to solve it without your 'problem'. =)
